unknown to all who like to bitch without knowing, horses and mules aren't cartoon Ponies, they are animals that like to have a purpose, focus, and who like to work. oh, yes. equids, if treated nicelly, LIKE to work, to go out and interact with people. they PREFER it to being bored on pasture.
always funny to see people who know nothing cause the most noise! before you start bitching about working animals being abuse, DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
I'm a city boy bred and raised, an environmentalist and believe in treating animals with care. This is a terrific video showing a traditional use of mules used today. These animals are bred for this kind of work and it's true they thrive when they work and are bored when they don't. Thanks for sharing this video.
@milkeatscereal Really, What do you do?? Trees grow back and animals like to work. Too bad people are so lazy now a day's. They wouldn't know how to hitch a team if their life depended on it. Maybe someday it will.
if you turn up the volume at 1:53, you can hear a mule say "hey fat ass, why not get a job so you can afford a tractor...yeah, 2011's right around the corner jackass.".
@kenfo0 What exactly do you do??? I know it's nothing to do with animals! Mules KNOW they are strong and love to pull and work, unlike you couch potato. I'm SURE that fat guy can out work you every day of the week!!
@BeckysFarmTV WOW! Really? You TRIPLE posted that tripe? The only think YOU can be sure of is you aren't very bright, and you are mentally unbalanced. How's that working for you?
@kenfo0 What exactly do you do?? I know it's nothing to with animals. Mules KNOW they are strong and love to pull. Unlike you couch potapo. That fat guy can out work you every day of the week!!

@alpha18412 You couldn't handle the chainsaw that cuts down the tree, let alone the pair of mules. They would drag your sorry ass all through the woods. funny how the wimps criticize the doers.
i saw these guys on tv once it was the funniest reality tv ever. wheres the part where they talk about that 400 pound guy billy? hes the only guy that will get inbetween mules and logs hahahah they said you cant tell him what to do
@tvick3544 its what my papaw used , he had a mule from the time when he was a boy till he was about 85 years old, hes 91 now and aint able to keep one
@apache4541 Mules work better on rough terrain.. A mule uses their front feet for most of the pulling power while a horse's pulling strength mostly comes from the rear legs. This allows the mule to be more agile in tighter areas. Like tvick said, it's mostly tradition now, but there is a reason for it. I've worked both animals since I was a kid and mules are far better for working in 'tough' areas. The Amish don't use them though because they believe that breeding horses with burrows is wrong.
@RebelRedsMaPony moron, draft mules are bred for this and they actually enjoy it, I had the privilege to work with a pair a while back, they couldn't wait to start working, bugging the shit out of you so they could work, it would actually be cruel not having them work.
love the video, love seeing the mules work and for people who dont mules... pretty much if they didnt want to do it... they wouldnt LOL
