  • This game brings back so many memories of my childhood.

  • Hey did you download this for PC? Where can I get the PC version? I googled it but it just has like cheats and tips. Help!

  • @rebelijon ebay, Get yourself a legacy sega cd and the game is relatively cheap.

  • crap game i got it with my mega drive. its funny cos on the back of the game case it says "Puggsy is destined to become the next worldwide smash hit!"

  • your voice /o\

  • Nope...this is all wrong. There were only 5 bosses...no crab thing. The Sega CD must have added a lot of stuff cause there also was no words telling you what to pick up and where to move it too.

  • I don't remember the arrows telling you what to do on the mega drive version.

  • This is by far my favorite Let's Play. Must be my 4th time watching it. I had no idea a game of this caliber existed. After watching this the first time i just had to get it and play it. Now it is one of my favorite games of all time as well. XD

  • It's taken 13 years to remember what this game was called!

  • i rented this for my genesis when i was like 6 and it was so damn hard i got stuck on like one of the first lvls

  • i dont remember you sorry

  • The genesis version didn't have the intro video cutscene

  • I remember finding this game so hard.. Lol x]

  • tails is the exit? lol

  • This was the hardest game i ever played LOL

  • The message reads:

"OK, that's all of the the levels of puggsy your allowed to play. now go and play a cartridge version of the game instead of this silly copy. Until then.......bye. Travellers tales 93."

All of the typos and whatnot are presented as they are in the original message.

  • So, interesting fact: The Puggsy cartridge does not contain SRAM, but the game still attempts to write to where the SRAM WOULD be in order to make sure that there is no SRAM present.

If there is SRAM the game will function as normal, but only for the first few levels. After these few levels the game stops working, and the player is presented with a personal greeting from the Traveller's Tales developers themselves.

  • Though Traveler's Tales is no longer the awesome developer it was in the 16 and 32-bit days, they still do make popular games, such as the LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Indiana Jones. Among others, they also did the game based on the new Transformers movie. So they aren't completely what you call "no-name".

  • Not even close to 'no-name'! They did Leander which was a great game, as well as Mickey Mania - a classic.

They've also done a whole shed load of licensed games; Toy Story, Finding Nemo, all the Lego games...

  • HAHAHA I just got this game at a thrift store BOXED AND SEALED $4 bucks. Lol no im gonna go play it! (:

  • Fucking hell, this is some nostalgia right here

  • You can still play Puggsy if you go grab a free emulator.

I used to play this game as a little kid in the 90's, and I remember not knowing what the fuck it was about AT ALL, but still playing the shit out of it anyway.

  • LOLz Thats how we did it back then >>> YOU JUST PLAY IT.

  • @F33bs yeh all roms are demos just upto first boss..shame. i got both copys megadrive and sega cd. peace!

  • I miss this game so much...

  • travverllers tales has made sonic 3-D blast.

  • dude U sound like Mclubbinn..

  • Mclovin sir you are wrong

  • Amazing game. The graphics and the art style are charming, but still retains complex puzzles and challenges for hardcore gamers. :DStill hvae it on the Mega Drive.

  • idk why i used to play this. i hated this game but still played it anyway

  • long fuckin intro lol

  • oh o

  • Lol, i have this for the megadrive.

  • carrry out with you for extra points (an early example of pre-Havoc physics?)- as a result it's accessible but also an intriguing mystery for hardcore players.

It also features rotational style effects that only the SNES, in terms of consoles, had previously seen the likes of as far as I;m aware. I didn't finish it though- it becomes difficult. If you get this, a few of the Sonic games and a few of the Disney games, you have some of the best 16 bit platforming.

  • The Megadrive version is beautiful but the Mega CD version has some gorgeous sections. Puggsy is certainly one of my favourite Megadrive games. I remember being immediately impressed by the graphical style and music. It's a puzzle platformer (with shooting if you wish as well thanks to guns you can pick up) and well designed in every aspect down to the colour scheme and font. There is always more than 1 way to finish a level- and then you have choices about which type of object/s to

  • Your voice makes me cringe

    CLEAR YOUR SINUSES!!!

  • I like the AMIGA version best for it's advanced soundtrack and having the actual guardian names in the manual.

  • ey how did you get the sega genesis on your computer?

  • Emulators.

  • you can carry more items if you stack them

  • I was like 4 or 5 years old when my dad bought me the Sega Genesis, and Puggsy was my first and favorite game(even named my rabbit after it). Was there another version to this game? After skimming through all the vids following this, I don't remember most of the stuff being in the one I played. That or I just can't remember everything I did 14 years ago, lol.

  • this game is the ultimate megadrive game for me, never completed it

  • Psygnosis and Traveller's Tales made some great Genesis games. Puggsy, Wiz n Liz, Toy Story, Mickey Mania

  • sorry but the commentary seems borderline retarded

  • Wasn't there a level where you mix potions? Which video is that in here?

  • heeey i have this game on sega cd , yeah and i never faced that first boss haha , the first boss i faced is the pirate ship and parot racoon.

  • Traveler's Tales makes Lego Star Wars, I believe.

  • I had a demo of this on the Amiga, and I loved it.

  • damn i remember puggsy when i was young :D

game was absolutely class, the physics were incredible at the time :)

  • nice video tho

  • Better b4 they remastered it

  • Nice vids ty man

  • One of the best games ever created. Great atmosphere and levels.

Overboard is also called Shipwreckers, I like that game but it is a bit hard sometimes. Abe's Oddysee is great as well.

Get all 3 for PC or PSP if you haven't done so already :)

  • does anyone remember the playstation 1 game that was very short lived called 'overboard' where you were in control of a ship from a birds-eye point of view and you had to shoot stuff and i was a little bit like puggsy. cos i think that was by Travellors Tales... OMG didn't TT do abe's oddysee ect.? sorry flashback...from about 5 years ago lol

  • TT also worked on lego star wars.

  • i had this when i was little and i called it pussy like lets go play pussy lol

  • Wow, Puggsy is so cute! I just wanna snuggle him.

  • Never even heard of this game. Looks kinda fun... *keeps watching*

  • Fuck you

  • this is awful..they changed the music...they added crap...they even explain how to beat the levels...the entire POINT of puggsy is that you have no freaking idea what is going on and you have to spend 300 years just trying to figure out the point. ugh. how dare they release this crap and cheapen Puggsy. I wish I never knew this version existed. Okay, I'm done.

  • I love the Let's Play Puggsy!'s ;^)

  • The sega cd version of this game sucks compared to the genesis version. The only thing better is that it has an extra boss and the intro and ending scene is argueably better. The downsides though is that all the boss battles all share the same BGM not the awesome music that the Genesis version had.

  • this was a really weird game, i remember owning it in 1994, the game makers were on crack, some of the items u can carry are mug full of beer, then u can toss out the beer on someone as a weapon and the characters and stages were weird, dream like. It was a really hard or long game too, I never beat it

  • u should do an lp of the original rayman for the playstation.

  • i need the bios for the sega cd mode from fusion emu please help!

  • Give me please an link to download the sega cd game

  • Dude what version are you playing? I DL'd the ROM for the Genesis and there's only 5 guardians in mine

  • i know you were not asking me bit its the sega cd version

  • Travelers tales also famous for sonci racing .. or sonic R.

  • Travelers Tales=Crash Bandicoot.

  • "Oh come on, leave him alone. Haven't you done enough?"

An image of Chris Crocker screaming LEAVE PUGGSY ALONE came into my mind there.

  • From when you thought it was a monkey, it's actually a bat.

  • I never realised that there was eight guardians. The version I played had five.

  • Traveller's Tales made Sonic 3D and Sonic R, and they're still in the business with those LEGO games. Puggsy is definitely not their most popular game.

  • Did I say popular? I meant best. Sorry, my mistake.

  • stfu, this guy is the shit

  • turn your volume down then and stop bitching

  • The music is different...

  • Where the hell is our ship? XD Oh man mashuren I love you so bad! This was great! But is it just me...or is the music somewhat different? :/

  • i love puggsy! i own it.

  • This is the passcode for VERY secret levels!!!!

    123,765,444

    177,075,537

    457,337,735

  • WELL FOR NOTICE.. I GET THIS GAME AND THE SEGA FOR MY 4th BIRTHDAY,, BUT IT STILL ROCKS :D:D:D (I've downloaded the emulator, and now I'm also playing this game)

  • State of the art in 1894 XD.

  • I used to love this game. This and Sonic CD were the best. And then there was Sewer Shark..

  • Ah! I never knew this was for sega CD

  • This game looks pretty good, I never got the chance to play it.

  • You chose a true classic to do this time, but it will probably take at least 10-15 episodes, maybe 20 if you get /all/ the secrets.
