You have to be a good musician to memorized 1 hour long song, This song has some few changes , the tempo maintains all most the same , but chris changes a litle bit the drum structure a buch of times .Bouth Bas/Gu simes like one instrumnet , thas dificult to make , is not just playin the same riif toguether , you have the play the same fell .The voice is amazing , is a sick tone , AL cisneros seems to have a unique quility to make lot of diferentes voices , in diferent sleeps songs.Fuckyeah
No, they did not record the whole song in one take. Theres an interview that says so. That would be sick...but its just not possible. Drummer Chris Haikus would have collapsed from exhaustion if that was the case.
@pigeonapocalypse this album's a little over an hour, right? Lemme give it a shot and see if I can last that long on drums. I think it's possible. I don't know anything about the tape reels, though.

@NightmareGanon Yeah now that i listened to most of it again i noticed there are some pretty extended breaks where he could rest. But still, they definitely didnt record the whole thing in one take.
@frididjurhuus It's a long and somewhat silly story, but Sleep wrote Jerusalem and tried to get it published, but their record company thought it was weird and wouldn't do well. It sat on the wall for years and Sleep refused to play the song live, preferring to wait for a recorded release. Eventually they got their wist, took another run at recording Jerusalem, and now we have Dopesmoker.
@AKRIDASGAMWEKSOGIINI They're slightly different. The Dopesmoker version is longer (over one hour) compared with 52 of Jerusalem. And as Cisneros said himself: I think Dopesmoker is the more up-tempo one, and Jerusalem is the slower one."
@AKRIDASGAMWEKSOGIINI also, when you think of the role of jerusalem as the holy land promised to the holy people in the early biblical days, i would have to say the answer to your question is a resounding YES!!
@WizardInBlack147 Actually, no. The tapes only lasted 22 Minutes each, so they had to do it in three takes. At least that's what they tell us in "Sleep Documentary", it's somewhere on Youtube.

@pigeonapocalypse It's not even that complex/fast drumming, and there's plenty of room for him to rest.

WizardInBlack147 2 years ago
@WizardInBlack147 Actually, it was broken up into three sections of 20 minutes each, since tape reels can only hold that much.
