  • Disney was definatly more scary back in the day, I remember being so scared of this when I was little :P

  • Funny how he says Satan when it's Chernobog the Nordic god of death. So I've heard. But is you ever saw Satan this is what he would probably look like. Well that or Fred Phelps

  • im fourteen... and i pissed .. jk (:

  • i loved fantasia 2000 as a child. my only regrets were that i only saw it once and i didnt see the original.

  • Note to self, don't wake up at night anymore.

  • this reminds me of van gogh' s picture .....btw WATCH THIS WHILE STONED

  • 5:57 - 6:00 these are not flames. these are dancing nude women. damn subliminal filth! i cannot believe that children watch those films.

  • OMG! what's that fuck! is it cartoon for kids??

  • Is this really for children? I am 27 years old and this shit is scary enough for me.

  • its a message from hollywood the elite satan worshipers brainwashing kids for the future

  • I love Moussorgsky but this symphony is just too ... cliche horrifying, you know? Schubert's Unfinished symphony (no. 8), the first movement to be precise, is much creepier.

  • I used to think that was batman at the beginning

  • i love this chapter out of the whole movie to speak truthfully.. i think i like it becuase the music flows even though its so drastic of a change and it doesnt clash & the fact that its trippy too. (:

  • fuuuuckkkk meeeeee!!!!

    fuckin' bournout

this is the new world order

  • Anybody else what the innapropriate thing at 6:21 and 6:23? thumbs up if you thought-really disney? wow.

  • I think im the only child in the world that actually LOVED this as a child I watched it all teh time, I never could remeber what it was called I always said that one disney movie without sound....at last I found it again

  • @MyZeebraaGoesRawr lol you r not the only one :)

  • I'm not going to read the other comments because I can't stand negativety and I'm sure there's plenty of it.

I think this is such a powerful, impressive piece if art. It really is phenomenal. It has a little to do with religion and I would understand people being offended, but I'm Catholic and I still think it is just fantastic. Walt Disney was such a genious. I'll leave it at that.

  • Usually spent the first half of this hiding under a blanket of some kind. The dinosaur number always creeped me out, too.

  • This would be even more bad ass if it were metal.

  • OMG the one score that effects me emotionally! Physically I want to go punch that demon dude in the face! And my goal, TRY NOT TO GET SCARED OVER THIS NUMBER!

  • This filled my head with imagination when I was a kid. The combination of music and art really expanded my ideas. I'm glad they made this, now that I've seen it again when I've become older I see it as brilliance.

  • @Grimfaith87 I am so thankful my childhood never invoolved the 00s! We were blessed with incredible artistry, imagination and real craftmanship in our era. No such skill exists in the past decade. I can't even think of one good actor to come out of the 00s.

  • why did they ever think that this was suitable for children to watch?

  • @cayrayandkrae I don't think this was necessarily created for children. The music pieces and animation in this can be appreciated by everyone. It does have some pretty intense scenes, but most "children's" shows these days are hardly appropriate for children.

  • @uzimakishadow His name is "Chernabog" the massive nocturnal devil

  • Comment removed

  • Satan sucks.

  • @uzimakishadow LOL. WHO ARE WRONG.. This is the coolest and meanest villain. The SCARIEST and MOST FRIGHTENING villains is a blonde whore (miley) and those teenage boys k.

  • my god this video is more frightening than ever seen in my life at 6 minutes the flames take the form of naked women, I saw flames become naked women which are then turned into animals, a terrifying demon and then the Ave Maria. this man was completely crazy walt disney is sick man, and known more haha

  • yu know when satan crushed the demons in his hands, I could see his true nature.

  • Wow this would've scared me to death when I was a little kid, good thing I'm 18 and watching DX It's sorta frraking me out now, I mean there's skeletons and demons and spirits flying around, a little kid likes colors and light hearted art not demons Dx DX Sorry if this seems negative but jee

  • pause at exactly 6:20 ...... was this meant for kids !!!!!

  • I remembered this used to scare the shit out of me when I was a little kid. Everytime when I was watching this movie, my mom always stopped the VHS when this part comes up and I never knew what happened. I was so curious so I had to watch. Later I just watched it and saw the devil guy, I cried so much.

Now it may be disturbing for me to watch, I say this is one of best pieces in the movie. Fantasia is my best childhood movie ever, despite being hella scared from it. But I still love it. :)

  • i always turned this movie off at this part, it was way to scary for a 6 year old to handle. i had never heard or seen anything so scary, lmao, now i listen to it while i take shits LMFAO!!!

  • satanist bullshit

  • I'm pissed that this didn't make it at number 1 on 100 scariest movie moments.

  • shit the end of this movie always scared me when i was young. i refused to watch the scary dark part lol it made me cry. haha i was like 4

  • Just listen to this when you are high...

  • I had nightmares because of this, when I was 8 or so.

  • nothing disturbing about classical music go listen 2 lady gaga u pussy

  • I like classical music and Lady Gaga...

Seriously, Lady Gaga has an unbelievable voice. Go listen to some of her live performances. But you really can't compare her to any of this stuff.

Anyway, I played Night on Bald Mountain in band a few years ago and it was super amazing. Well... as amazing as it could be after pulling it together in 3 weeks lol.

  • @ispartaliyim there's a sweeping generalisation if ever I've heard one

  • I love how at 7:01 "Satan" has this stance and look on his face that looks like a stubborn five year old. "I'm staying right here, humph!" LMAO

  • Man this used to freak the crap out of me.

  • This shit is much cooler than I remember.

  • whoa theres boobs in fantasia? 6:20

  • yes. lol they're in the Pastoral symphony too. They're everywhere in the movie actually.

Because Fantasia is technically not a kids movie.

  • No, I don't think this was for children any more than Family Guy is. However children watch it and are blown away by it.

  • man, Disney doesn't Fuck around.

  • Fantasia was never meant to be a movie for children, just a general artistic experiment. Most of Disney's early features aren't really kids' movies either; they just happen to be animated.

  • this scared the shit out of me as a child.

  • haha you're so right I never want to go to hell after this lol

  • I know wtf, its not even that bad, no clue why it was so scary

  • @harrymac16 me too, I was too scared after I saw that then I finished to see Fantasia before this part....ç___ç

  • It was made in a different time, when not everything was sugar coded and dumbed down.

  • This was always my favorite part of the movie. Love this. :D

  • Disney = Evil empire

    THIS IS THE TRUTH

  • Nowadays it might be the truth, but when Walt was around disney was the shit

  • Remember the scene with the small baby cupids looking at the young horse women, trying to help them get ready to meet horse men?

  • Ya, couldn't they also be considered Saggitarrius? LOL Or maybe just centaurs. Pretty cool. I loved this movie.

  • How dare this ignorant asshole put "halloween" and satanism in the same sentance, it has nothing to do with it at all. it is a pagan holiday.

  • The pagan holiday of All Hallows Eve did involve dark creatures that were similar to Satan

  • samhain (halloween) is about remembering the dead, and feasting in the name of them, not so much how you put it. i'm pagan broseph....i've been celebrating this holiday sence i could remember,

  • Well I guess no one knows better than you then.

    I apologize for my ignorance.

  • no reason to apologize, all is good

  • Just asking cause I don't know, but how does everyone know he's called the Chernabog? They don't say his name in the intro.

  • I heard the same thing. I dunno how they came up with "Chernabog" though...beats the strawberries outta me.

  • were kids more intelligent ages ago? Can't imagine disney bringing something like this out again! Compare this to high school musical, or hanah montana!

  • This is the most valid point I have ever seen someone bring up , EVER . ... if kids seen this now ? they would look at it ... yawn and move onto something else . growing up this was my FAVORITE movie ... im 19 yeah i mean this came out WAYYY before me but i seen this once and loveddd it .. these days kids melt when they see .. hannah montana or HSM or even Jonas borhters... waste ....even the disney channel its no longer classic cartoons ... blahh .

  • the was made by some satanist...

  • Best part in the whole film and chernabog is the best disney villian ever!

  • I agree with you on the villain part absolutely , haha the bestt villain ever ... even though he hides away because of the church bells and light .. still the best ever

  • someone get those women a bra, think of the countless teenage boys who watched this just for that scene ( i personally watched it for the dinosaur scene, t-rex in the rain vs. the steg)

  • I watched it for the horse women because they had such lovely hair!!!

  • 6:22

"OH MY GOD, WOMEN HAVE NIPPLES, MY CHILDHOOD IS RUINED."

    - Nostalgia Critic.

  • this makes me want to watch Gargoyles, the cartoon.

  • I got the video right next to me...I watched it around 20 times and now I am going to watch it once again for not less than 20 times...It's just a masterpiece of Disney and probably the best "cartoon"-musical that has ever been created. And i would call it even better than "The Lion King".

  • but the firebird of fantasy 2000 is very good not like this.. but still pretty cool, dont you think that!?!?

  • no doubt about that, but as you say, it's not as good as this :D

  • I just wish the world was less underaged. The whole point of this part of the film was to be abstract, artistic and to show the underlining war between righteous and demonic. It tells a story that good will always triumph over the forces of evil. Another thing is that back then this was not in question between the nude and so on it is an artistic form. Nudity is not disgusting unless it is made so and besides the entire piece is an artists dream it is so beautifully done. Bravo Disney.

  • I wish disney was still this wonderfully dark and sinister. The closest thing we get to that in this overly pc world we live in is a little bit of hidden adult humour that the kids won't get until they're about, oh i dunno...10 maybe?

  • Remember watching this as a kid, thought it was scary as hell but an awesome song. It still is an awesome piece = P

  • the 4th movement to Beethoven's 6th Pastoral w/ the thunder gods is pretty savage too. makes me want to rock black sabbath's "black sabbath"

  • i watched this when i was 6 and thought it was awesome. still do. Rock on Disney!

  • the satan part freaked me out and im 19,it really really scary,i dont think its right for kids to watch but the Ave Maria part is just so beautiful

  • No kidding. This part always gave me nightmares as a kid!

  • its horrible,i dont know how disney got away with it..because i mean it is pretty graphic

  • hahaa me tooo!! I always wanted to watch it but I were scarred xD

  • the fantasia movie is the greatest works ever to watch when your high. :P

  • We have here Satan, demons, ghosts, skelletons and harpies... and elrabioso99 thinks this film inapropriate for children because of the harpys tits? Honestly...

Stil this is genious, really beutiful... Although it scared the shit out of me when I saw it as a child.

  • I also used to be afraid to watch this part when I was a child. But when I look at it again, they really did an awesome job with Fantasia combining the music to what they were planning to draw and create.

  • Are you really that immature?

  • i always loved this part thanks for post

  • Devils? superstitious nonsense

  • i remember this part.... we used to stop the movie here because it terrified me as a child xD

  • Same here.

  • Not me, lol, this was my favourite part.

  • my sister and i hid under the pillows, your not alone on this one.

  • Same. Didn't even know they got frightened away by church bells. Never got that far til now :)

  • this video is fantastic

  • i remember this video....in fact its inGRAVED into my memories....along with every other Disney movie out there lol

  • engraved* sry bout that :)

  • naw the horned guy from the black cauldron was way more wicked then chernabog.

  • I agree with Pipokaru, I had nightmares over Chernabog

  • 6:22 = XoX

  • "To me, Chernabog is the most frightening Disney Villain of all time. The Horned

King comes second. Just my opinion."

Believe me, he's stronger than the "Famous" Maleficent (how I hate her)

  • Chernabog is the God of all Disney villains.

  • Besides the fact that this movie is one of the best that disney has ever come out with, it's still one of the spookiest. The animation is incredible though.

  • So the Devil disappears at 6 o clock!! Good to know!! :)

WTF?? The fiery part still gives me the creeps, everything else, eh!!

  • at 2:05, gives me the chills,

the way they're going back through the nooses they were hung in

    :x

  • my favorite movie when i was 3 or 4 years old

  • Mine too! I consumed the videocassette; this final part with Moussorsky's music is really terrifying! I love the part with mushrooms too, they're one alternative to see Fantasia, the film really looks like a long LSD trip, but with the difference that you are not spoiling your brain with it. Damned Snow White, I found her fairy tale more scaring than this part of Fantasia!

  • "modeste moussorgsky"

Is that where the band Modest Mouse got their name??

  • y is it called bald mountain?

  • This incredible scene was apparently inspired by the 1926 German film "Faust".

It in turn would inspire the "Nightmare" sequence in the 1986 Japanimation film "Robot Carnival".

All three are really amazing and worth seeing and buying.

  • Ah. Look at all the beautiful things you can do with animation WITHOUT computers! :D

  • reminds me of the film: Pink Floyd - the wall, the cartoon of the song goodbye blue sky

  • i never knew this was disney born, its quite shocking

  • To me, Chernabog is the most frightening Disney Villain of all time. The Horned

King comes second. Just my opinion.

  • To me, Chernabog is the most frightening Disney Villain of all time. The Horned

King comes second. Just my opinion.

  • I. Am. MAN-BAT!

  • the fantasia movie is the greatest works ever to watch when your high. its so intense

  • my orchestra played this at our school.

  • This used to scare the living daylights out of me. Now I think it's the greatest piece of animation, well, ever. Honestly, do you see images like this in the theater today?

  • Up to this day, I still feel chills down my spine when hearing this music. The first time i saw it was 12 yrs ago, and i'm 18 :S. How scary is that?

  • The first time i saw this i was 3 i am also now 18 john williams , Danny Elfman have got nothing on the guys on this film.

  • what?

  • What?

  • what do you mean by that?

  • The modern movie composers rip the guys of this film off

  • John Williams has not only reached incredible critical acclaim, but also has nobody to equal his popular acclaim. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Harry Potter and Superman are instantly recognizable. Who else can claim that, including Bach and Beethoven? Williams is also the second most honored man in all Hollywood, second only to Disney. I'll give you Elfman, though I also think he's one of the best in Hollywood. He's just got nothing on these guys.

  • Unless you have listened to the collections of Leopold Trackoscy , Bach , Beathovon your opinion is invalid and your words wasted. The tatoine theme from star wars boasts blatent plagerism from Trackoscy's 5th and the Endor Ewok theme is a copy of Trackoscy's 9th.

  • I HAVE listened to Tchaikovsky, Bach and Beethoven. And they are the masters. But Williams lives in another century, and to say he doesn't deserve some respect is a downright lie. Even if those two songs (whose titles aren't on the Star Wars soundtracks..at least get the names right) are blatant copies, who cares? That STILL doesn't account for the Star Wars main themes, Jaws, Superman, Indiana Jones or Schindler's List. And not to mention his induction into the Classical Music Hall of Fame.

  • this video is fantastic, tanks for uploaded
