We were dancing on this episode my friends and i and we were like wearing our mod coats and had our hair shaved on the right side and wore heavy eyeliner. We were having so much fun back then. The 80's were the last decade to have fun and be carefree. Richard Blade was cool.
@1musicencyclopedia I danced on this show also I was very tall and dark hair with my friend greg that was also tall! I would give my left nut for tapes of this! Berlin will be playin at Hollywood Park this Friday night!

Ahhahahahaha...I hit Terry Nunn in the head with a package of Fig Newtons at the Police's 'Final Tour' in 1984, Santa Anita Park. They sucked and so did The Thompson Twins. The Police and The Fixx were great!
The drummer in this video Rod Learned who played with them from 1979 to 1982 is one of friends and teamates dad He goes to my school and we play halo and stuff at his house all the time Its really cool knowing him and being in his house
This is one of my favorite Berlin songs. Terri is still singing and performing it with reformed Berlin. She is still fabulous live. Thanks for putting up the video. Not all of us had the technology of a VCR or Cable in the 80s. I never had my MTV. I was deprived. It's good to find people uploading their taped shows/interviews and other stuff to see a couple decades later for us that missed it.
I met the keyboardist at Licorice Pizza on Brookhurst and Adams in Hunt. Beach when he worked at this record store. He mentioned being in a band and it was Berlin. We saw them perform in LA. Very cool.
Thats cool Um the drummer in the video who played with them from 1979- 1982 Rod Learned is one of my friend's dad from my school its pretty knowing him and being inside of his house and stuff
Can anyone identify the first few seconds of this clip that features a head rising from the water? I'm pretty sure it was part of an 80's video, and I'm racking my brain to remember which one.
Thanks for posting this, it TRULY is appreciated and takes me back to my memories, Berlin was my 1st concert ever in 1983 and i remember seeing this aired live
I used to race home from the third grade to watch MV3. It was right on after reruns of What's Happening. The last time I saw this was when it first aired in 1983ish.
I was 12 in 1981, when this was aired on locally on KHJ channel 9. Bubblegum compared to it's predacessor New Wave Theatre another local show on UHF!(bands always played live)
The sections of this video that show stills are actually censorship edits.
@714punk We are the same age. I watched New Wave Theatre with Peter Ivers. It was on channel 18 where I lived. I don't remember what years it ran, but I was watching in Gardena before I moved to OC in 1981. I was in grade school. MV3 was on when I was in Jr. High. I didn't have cable until 1984, so I LOVED this show and Video One that came after this, also with Richard Blade. I remember this performance. It was hot!
OMG! This is so cool! I wonder if they could ever show these clips on tv one day. we need a new music video channel because vh1 classic is turning into every other channel... and it sucks
i have hours of mv3 on tape, always wondered if i was the only one who taped mv3, over a year before i got cable!

MV3 was a good show. KROQ was just getting started. Man, I'm old.

I remember seeing this on MV3. I even remember Terri Nunn getting on her knees. It seemed so wild and sexy for a 12 year old. Thanks for sharing it.
Funny how they don't even pretend to do the end-of-song moans and grunts.

Thanks for the info on New Wave Theatre. Sounds cool. According to wikipedia I guess Rhino put out some video tapes of it. Maybe MV3 will be next.
