Thank you mat for being such a great teacher. I have learned so much from you. I dont know if you live in Los angles ,i would have liked too take lessons from you....your blitz games are exteremly instructive. you are one of best teachers on the internete. i wish u a great success my friend!!

I so enjoy your play and commentary, nice job. Also the second game where your opponent played c6, you playing d4 is a good move. The c6 move is akin to white playing c3 against the sicillian defense on move two and I always reply with d5 with black in that situation. :)
small thought: you are not supposed to hold the piece to its potential destination square when you are checking to see if the move is ok (it would be like moving a piece to a square OTB and then holding it there while checking if the resulting position makes sense)
on the brighter side: I definitely enjoy your videos very much! can't believe you get away that beautifully with such offbeat openings
I fail to see how it's like that. Touching a piece is legally binding, clicking a piece is not. Also occasionally this is done while talking about the move/piece .. I don't think I do this when playing normally but I'm not sure. Thanks for subscribing.
and sorry to just ask for requests but could you do a series on gambits? I love playing them - it just means I lose more often than I used to! But it's more fun. And it woulod be good to know the more sound ones from the dubious ones to the plain silly ones...
Maybe a five minute next time? I like it when you through possibilities in the openings etc.
And yeah, there are three great chess channels on here that are three different levels. Ypu got jrobichess, then green castle then the mighty kingscrusher (who is on a roll with his blitz right now after a dip.) That's three channels that cover most people's abilities.
Keep up the live blitz, but try to find a bit stronger oponents, some are fine but others don't really have alot of experience, expecially in the openings like the 2nd player on this blitz.
Just an opinion, if you keep them as they are it's just fine and dandy aswell :).
I prefer unrated for these games because I'm playing with a handicap, not many strong players on FICS that are on at the time of night I am on are willing to play unrated.
I do find strong guests on FICS quite often (sometimes 2200+ players) but it's unpredictable.
It's always time for Matt. When I opened my channel my first subscription was to Kingscrusher and my second was to Matt. I have subscribed to dozens of chess channels since then but Tryfon and Matts' are the best- by far- for both instructional value and entertainment as well.
I'm playing a bunch of stuff currently, I haven't really been studying to prepare for anything so I'm just trying a bunch of classical openings and trying to learn them better.
I've been playing the Four Knights Scotch but lately I've been wanting to try out the Vienna game after seeing kingscrusher demonstrate a very nice system to deal with the main line (2...Nf6 3.f4 d5) in one of his blitz vids.
It's why you see me appear to struggle with decisions in the opening of these latest vids.

At 8:26, you could try a queen sac by playing Qd8
But then again, it can easily be defended, and i don't think the opponent would be stupid enough.

How about a longer live game in the next video?
ongyj 2 years ago
Can't go longer than 5 0 due to 11 min limit. I don't play long games on the internet anyway.

Matt's a great chess player. Maybe not as high-level as KingsCrusher, but you learn more by watching Matt's.
He went on a long hiatus from making chess videos. I'm glad to see that he's back.
