For the page indicator can you remove the number on it? Like if you are on page 1 it shows 1 on the white circle? Can you make it so its just a white circle?
My Brother has the new Nexus S 4G with Verizon, Which is also an LTE phone and has Android 4.0 and he gets even slower speeds then my roommate. Who has an LG Revolution. I am with T-Mobile and am using an MyTouch 4G and I average in the same locations between 5-8MB down / 1-2MB up and peak up to 12MB down / 2-3MB up. And my MyTouch 4G only supports T-Mobile's HSPA+14 speeds. If I had this phone he is reviewing I could get up to 42MB down. Since T-Mobile's HSPA+42 network is live here in Atlanta
T-Mobile's data speeds are for sure on-par with Verizon's LTE data speeds and in some markets T-Mobile's HSPA+42 network is faster then Verizon's LTE. Here in Metro Atlanta my Roommate and my brother both use Verizon and both have LTE phones. My roommate gets between 7-8MB down and 3-5MB up on average at our house. He peaks between 15-20MB when there isn't alot of traffic on the network. Which is between the hrs of 11pm - 8am.
Love my S2. I'm in Maryland, my benchmark just came in at 3651. Speedtest was 12.14 download and 16.42 upload. This phone is super fast, with NO lag what-so-ever! I also added a Kingston 16g, class 4 sd card.
@nosranro It's not a fake Galaxy S ii. Since T-mobile's 4g network is not compatible with the 1.2-GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos processor, Samsung had to use a 1.5-GHz Snapdragon processor for the T-mobile version.
@darksilver129 ridiculous, both exynos and snapdragon are Cortex-A9 processors designed by ARM, and also the network things are not controlled by the pocessor. and more T-mobile's 4G network is similar as ATT's.
@nosranro and just to be clear the processor doesn't affect anything to do with a networks signal that's the wireless radio in your phone but it does affect data speed,just added that to let you know that I understood where you were coming from with your comment
Awesome and very helpful review. Maybe you can help me with the Vlingo app. I cannot figure out how the memo function works?. After you record and your speech is converted to text you have the option to save it. Where is it saved? How do you retrive your message memo's? I can't seem to find the saved memo anywhere in the phone?
@zamrock20 Actually this one doesn't. The iPhone gets totally runined during the drop test. Type in Drop test for SGS2 vs iPhone, a video will be available showing different heights and levels of drops. This one held up well!
@maxmossman100 not gonna call you an idiot or a dumb ass for saying its not a galaxy s2 but yes that is the t-mobile version of the samsung galaxy s2, USA like to have variations on the looks of their devices but that is definitely a samsung galaxy s 2
Yeah it looks different from original SGII because it is released after the original so the design was copied from AT&T's Skyrocket. According to wikipedia they codenamed this one SGII "Hercules".
I love to see a review by someone who is obviously familiar w/the phone & keeps it moving. This is also the only review that demonstrates NFC. I'm more concerned w/ things like it not having a video editor and Google Talk not being enabled yet, than benchmarks. He seems to fit it all in, though. This is the best review I've seen.
Be careful with this phone...i brought one returned it because the screen had grey lines in it and it was very noticeable on low brightness...or dark scenes of movies.
Nice review

Also if you root it and instal a custom rom and kernel you can easily get 16+ hours of battery with moderate use.

@jigga21ish Not for T-Mobile

@jigga21ish It operates on their HSDPA+ which is dual cell HSPA. Doubles the theoretical max of HSPA from 21 mbps to 42 mbps. Very fast, but not LTE.
