A Les Paul gives you a thicker more buff sound...where as a Strat's sound is very weak, but the Strat does have it's own unique sound that for some sounds better...it's all about personal preference

@AppleFaction I love the sound of a Les Paul, and they do have a very diverse sound range. However, strats also have a very unique sound that your not going to be able to imitate completely with a Les Paul. I own both but, my friend was borrowing my strat at the time. I personally prefer a Les Paul sound but that's me.
