At first, my instincts was to want to see the movie because of the two actors and actresses from Sucker Punch, but then the trailer ended and I found out that the whole story line makes me want to watch the movie.
Lowering the class for a minute!! This is not a mandatory film like of high school!!! If you don't like Madonna you don't have to see it.. Just stop complaining about it! At least she is working.. Not like many of you doing s&:$ for this country. If you don't like her music go and listen to C-lo green or some other chicks... Doing awesome music in this country!! (it was sarcasm) ... Why did the media vilify Madonna for this film? It seems perfectly decent to me, in fact, it's a lot better than some of the turkeys Brian De Palm turns out. It looks like a woman is not allowed to be a successful polymath,: how dare she be a singer, a business woman and now a skilled filmmaker, the misogynists and the envious were spewing out of their mouths when they heard about her new film .
I, for one, I'm impressed by her strong workethic and her boldness - she's not afraid. That's good.
@Lolalai It's because Wallis Simpson was a horrible human-being, she was a Nazi sympathizer and a racist. The British are lucky that Edward was forced to abdicate. How could he have had a queen with sympathies for the enemy? Simpson believed ideologically in the Nazi cause. From the trailer the movies seems to try and make her into a sympathetic character. But many, including myself, do not feel she deserves any sympathy. It's not an attack on Madonna but on her choice of subject.
watch the king's speech for an alternative view that's also a good movie though it might be sensible to understand this view as well (i don't know how accurate either are/will be so if both are innacurate then I got nothing)
you're absolutely right, i love madonna, but they should have left her name out, or atleast put it in very very small font. i have a feeling people wont see this solely cause its by madonnna.. although people WILL see this because it IS by madonna, but all those people are the ones who already know about the film, who blog about it. so it was unnessasary to put her name in the trailer

David Windsor (former Edward VIII) was a fascist who hid in Spain during the first part of The War hoping a successful Nazi invasion of Britain would put him back on the throne as a puppet of the Third Reich. Having stated that, I've read the letters Wallis wrote to David and her American relative. Her love for David did not match his love for her, but after what he gave up she felt trapped. It was her fault caused by fame whoring and greed. Hopefully the film will be true to her letters.
