Dude. You SERIOUSLY need to secure all those dangling lengths of adjustments cord. After fitting all the straps the way that you want it, roll of the slack and secure it with electrical tape. It'll stop the extra slack from catching on anything, and it'll also stop you from looking like a newb who doesn't know how to wear camouflage.
In order to properly shoot the AK, you need to press tightly against the stock to the shoulder and tilt your body slightly forward of the body. Then the energy goes into the shoulder and you can get the exact shots

Its not a misfire, the ak74 just doesnt bumpfire properly. It will cycle through a bunch of rounds, and then not extract a round properly-not properly seated as well.

@troopcom Yugos are good guns they are much heavier built than a similar design from a competing country. The non availability of chrome in Yugoslavia led them to build their weapons like milled guns nearly so they could take the heat and punishment of combat. Heavy guns though.
I'm so tired of the AKs never jam and can be run over with a T72 blah blah typical argument. The truth is, AKs are prone to a lot of weird problems such as double feeding, fail to eject, and casings that are ripped in half. If you doubt this, go to any gun parts distributer and notice that they ALL sell broken shell extractors.... hmmm, I wonder why that is?
I can't speak for every AK design ever made but I can tell you that junk rifles such as Egyptian Ak's are notorious for being worthless even brand new. But as far as my own collection goes, yes there are drawbacks in the design, which there are many after market products made in the US to remedy most of those problems. I have a supposedly "shitty" Romanian SAR 1 for years now and put several thousand rounds through it yearly with less than 5 major malfuntions EVER. May no believe me but its true

It was those crappy Century rifels that gave the rifle a bad name. Century was selling the MISR-90 which was a bastardization of the Maadi and a Mak. It's sad too because the Maadi is really a Russian AK. Made on Russian equipment and Russian barrels.

The same thing happens sometimes when I bump-fire my AK-47. This is one of the cons of bump-firing. An AK's got to be in pretty bad shape to have a legitimate jam.

All AK's, like every other object with moving parts are prone to jams and such. They're not as reliable as most people think, considering most AK's are now cheaper Chinese copies, and original Soviet models are much harder to find.

Well, yeah. As I mentioned, generally the primer on the cartridge is a dud. Especially if it's surplus ammo.
It's the simplistic design on the dust cover and bolt carrier that make the Kalashnikov pattern rifles so reliable. They're less prone to misfires mainly because they have less moving parts, etc.

Was the misfire when the cyclic was out paced by the bump fire. I've had my AK do the something similar. The hammer falls but the bolt isn't shut all the way and it hits the bolt carrier.
if ur ak is doing that you have a slight problem with ur gun not the bump firing. the issue may arise when u bump fire bc it is more noticeable but your gun if working properly should not do that

I saw a new looking ak underfolder in a pawn shop. the stock was very tight and it looked like the receiver was built by DCI and assembled by Century. the receiver looked a little different on the front sides than my other ak, it looked like rpk receiver. I think it was a Yugo M70 underfolder. I have read that these do not have chrome lined barrels. should that detour me from buying it. it is at least 75.00 less than the same for sale online.

@troopcom Yugos are good guns they are much heavier built than a similar design from a competing country. The non availability of chrome in Yugoslavia led them to build their weapons like milled guns nearly so they could take the heat and punishment of combat. Heavy guns though.

I'm so tired of the AKs never jam and can be run over with a T72 blah blah typical argument. The truth is, AKs are prone to a lot of weird problems such as double feeding, fail to eject, and casings that are ripped in half. If you doubt this, go to any gun parts distributer and notice that they ALL sell broken shell extractors.... hmmm, I wonder why that is?

I can't speak for every AK design ever made but I can tell you that junk rifles such as Egyptian Ak's are notorious for being worthless even brand new. But as far as my own collection goes, yes there are drawbacks in the design, which there are many after market products made in the US to remedy most of those problems. I have a supposedly "shitty" Romanian SAR 1 for years now and put several thousand rounds through it yearly with less than 5 major malfuntions EVER. May no believe me but its true

@mikhail718 Yeah, don't get me wrong I love AKs. The Egyptian Maadi suffered from Century Arms mostly. I own a Maadi that was imported/assembled by Intrac Arms, and it is a damned nice AK. It was those crappy Century rifels that gave the rifle a bad name. Century was selling the MISR-90 which was a bastardization of the Maadi and a Mak. It's sad too because the Maadi is really a Russian AK. Made on Russian equipment and Russian barrels.

@VengeanceIV Dude's AKS-74 didn't jam; he was bump-firing too fast, so the hammer fell with the bolt-carrier causing a light hammer strike, which doesn't ignite the primer. The same thing happens sometimes when I bump-fire my AK-47. This is one of the cons of bump-firing. An AK's got to be in pretty bad shape to have a legitimate jam.

@skittlekiller Anytime. You can actually learn a lot just by thoroughly examining your weapons, but be careful not to damage anything. That's how I learned stuff like that.

@skittlekiller No, not at all; I said to be careful not to damage anything while examining your weapon. If you're not careful while going through the guts of your weapon, you could accidently overbend/break a spring, a wire, or something like that. I learned that thing about bump-firing by carefully examining how the sears, bolt, hammer, and bolt carrier interacted.

@yoshi450gmail Full autos fire faster without malfunctioning because they use a sear interrupter gear that manipulates the trigger group with mechanical precision. When you bump-fire, you artificially create the same situation except with human precision, which isn't so perfect. You can control your rate of fire while bump-firing if you're experienced enough. I know what I'm talking about; I'm obsessed with my AK. My AK does this sometimes and the cartridge in question works on the next try.

No, no, no. Just in general. Plus, I didn't see much wrong with the way he's handling it, considering he's bump-firing it. It could've been a dud primer on the cartridge, or the firing pin might've not gained enough momentum.
All AK's, like every other object with moving parts are prone to jams and such. They're not as reliable as most people think, considering most AK's are now cheaper Chinese copies, and original Soviet models are much harder to find.

of course ak's do jam but it is 9/10 times the ammo that is being shot. i shoot surplus ammo most of the time and it is the only reason my ak has ever jammed

Well, yeah. As I mentioned, generally the primer on the cartridge is a dud. Especially if it's surplus ammo.
It's the simplistic design on the dust cover and bolt carrier that make the Kalashnikov pattern rifles so reliable. They're less prone to misfires mainly because they have less moving parts, etc.

Was the misfire when the cyclic was out paced by the bump fire. I've had my AK do the something similar. The hammer falls but the bolt isn't shut all the way and it hits the bolt carrier.

if ur ak is doing that you have a slight problem with ur gun not the bump firing. the issue may arise when u bump fire bc it is more noticeable but your gun if working properly should not do that
