Between yesterday and this morning I have listened to Tomcats at least 8 times. It is a brilliant combination of drums (great d'virgilio), bass (great Sutton), computer programming (great Grifiths), and well.... drum roll... the mastery of Roland's everything throughout the album. Man, what a mighty talent.
Thats great. Ive been on a time kick all day and the numbers work well with that for me ..just how long is life? Not quite enough time to get everything done regardless it just seems..so much still to do.
I must have listened to this thirty times. I'm trying to figure out why I like it so much, and this is what I come up with: it's such an interesting juxtaposition of musical styles, from the most primitive/basic/organic to the most technical, modern synthetic stuff. Wonderful the way it blends into a coherent whole. I kind of like the bingo numbers, actually: they go with the "hypnosis" theme in some bizarre way.

So whats up with the dots?
tautogg 3 years ago
I guess the dots are on the numbers that could be read as something else if they were upside down, e.g. 68 could be 89. The dot shows the bottom.
art4life4me 3 years ago
Yup, they probably shouldn't have used a dot for 69 at 2:07...
GeyserToo 2 years ago
Yeah, it's pretty hard to misread 69!
