That's a lovely old Commer. I hope it didn't get broken up, there are very few 'Superpoises' around now. Search for 'Commer tanker' on Youtube to see one with a great sounding perkins in a scrapyard. I hope someone saved it!
@lucyjoyw The old commer still exists languishing in the corner of a field. I had to sell it when we had to leave the farm, I had just had the engine completely overhauled at the time, the lorry never got back on the road. It was supposed to have been sold again a few weeks ago to another enthusiast, but it hasn't moved from where it is. It is still ok to restore but it won't have to be left too much longer .
@CORRIFARM Thank you, sadly the Bedford in this video is no more, I sold it to the Merchants where I worked part time, for carting Jersey Royal potatoes down to the docks for export, they used it for 1 season then sold it on to a chap who broke it up and sold the engine, gearbox and back axel to someone in England. Its a shame because there wasn't much rust on it, it was still a good lorry, its just that he could make more money doing it like that !!
I can sure see the advantage of later balers that wrap the outside of the bale so you don't lose hay. I haven't handled bales since 1967. It's all different now.
