she is honest to admit that they don't know yet the physiological effect and chemistry of ginger. What a humble person. I like your passion in sharing your knowledge to your student. i love teachers!
she forgot to mention how researchers rob indigenous communities of resources they have been utilizing through collective knowledge for centuries. Then they patent them and privatize them so the same people they stole them from no longer can access them. sure, they sign contracts with one community for meager settlements that are not seen by other communities. "shared knowledge"...try stolen knowledge. thank you social sciences for exposing the reality of this biocolonialism
I couldn't agree more; she is a great professor. Dr. Timmermann also co-teaches a medicinal chemistry course on homeostatic agents. She is one of the most easy-to-follow professors in the pharmacy school, and she does a fantastic job presenting complex topics, such as ways in which the chemical structures of common medicinal compounds determine the activity of drugs and herbal products at sites of action.
I had a phytomedicinal agents course at KU co-instructed by Dr. Timmermann. She is an amazing instructor. She always tried her best to convey her knowledge of botanicals in a way in which everyone could understand her. She would also encourage students (especially the pharmacy students) to question everything when it came to herbal medications. She challenged every student to understand everything they could about a botanical, down to the molecular/physiological level. Great school!
