  • I always learned the rhythm by ear, it just made sense to me .

  • That sounds way more like 6/4 time than 6/8. Most 6/8 is over a triplet feel, and this pattern, though possible, would be very difficult to play over that feel. It would be more like 2's against 3's, which is not an ordinary pop style.

  • @TheRadioAteMyTV Listen to the accents. They fall on the 1 and the 4. The beat is a dotted quarter note, and there are 3 eight notes per dotted quarter. See the wikipedia article on "Compound_meter_(music)"

  • as much as i wanna try and learn time signatures and all that shit, i just pick up better from listening and playing from there.. counting in my head is not music!

  • @DAKMAIN counting in one's head is definitely music =P but not counting can just as easily be music. to each his or her own~

  • @DAKMAIN there has to be a way of writing music down so someone else can play it

  • This really helped me. Extremely useful! Thanks. 5 stars!

  • You make it seem so easy. I'm thinking about buying a guitar and start to learn. We'll see.
