That sounds way more like 6/4 time than 6/8. Most 6/8 is over a triplet feel, and this pattern, though possible, would be very difficult to play over that feel. It would be more like 2's against 3's, which is not an ordinary pop style.
@TheRadioAteMyTV Listen to the accents. They fall on the 1 and the 4. The beat is a dotted quarter note, and there are 3 eight notes per dotted quarter. See the wikipedia article on "Compound_meter_(music)"
as much as i wanna try and learn time signatures and all that shit, i just pick up better from listening and playing from there.. counting in my head is not music!
I always learned the rhythm by ear, it just made sense to me .
