Great memories. I was there as a 10 year old with my dad over the pits. I got lots of autographs from the drivers in my program, which I still have today. On Friday I went thru the garages and met all the drivers. See if you can do that today! All drivers were nice and signed my program except John Surtees who could not be bothered.
The car designs between 1967 and 1972 changed dramatically, IMO that year they were ugly as sin and some of them look like a mini top fuel dragster you see today. The 1960-1966 design were sexy and so were the 1973 design.
@sookster54 IMO '67 was the last year of pure, beautiful F1 design. '68 saw the introduction of the "weird wings which changed the face of Formula 1 racing," and which metastasized to all kinds of bulbous monstrosities in the years after.
That said, today's F1 cars actually look pretty cool. But the early 70s? Yeccch.
Awesome video. The commentary was a bit off. While Jo Siffert did qualify fastest in Walker's Lotus 49B, he was very guilty of cutting corners and taking shortcuts. THe narrations was out of synch with the pictures. The 14 car was a McLaren driven by Dan Gurney. The 8 was a BRM driven by Pedro Rodriguez. The 11 was a Lotus 49B in the hands of Jacky Oliver. More info upon request.
que buena peilicula, los recuerdos de las carreras en México, y las ultimas veces que se uso la pista completa, con la curva de la serpentina y la horquilla ya no se va a ver nunca, ojala y tengan mas de stas
I wright from Puebla, México. I can come back 40 years of my life through this beauty film. It there are there unforgettable pilots like Hulme, Brabham, Hill, Stewart and, of course, our Pedro Rodríguez. I also remeber that year Jim Clark can´t take part México GP because this was racing in november, and the great scottish pilot had dead in april.
Thanks for the great memories! I watched a lot of these races on tv as a kid, good to see these cars and drivers again.

The cars of today with the engine in sight ! Now that would be cool. They don't need to change the rules, they need to change the cars

Es una lástima que ningún mexicano haya ganado el GP de México de F1 :(
