Beautiful song. He's playing a Gibson Les Paul with single-coil P90 pickups. Also using very heavy (thick) strings. Lastly Fender amp - probably Twin Reverb. Chord changes move around much more than his other songs including a passing diminished chord. Believe he's a more accomplished player than critics give him credit for. In his R & B music just recognize that he's playing ONLY what the song NEEDS - often just simple amateur sounding riffs.
