Akrolith, I want to thank you for putting this up. I first discovered it two years ago, and I came across it once again a few weeks ago after looking at your channel from the related videos bar on an Ashens video. This video right here is what made me go out and be a bit more courageous in my life, and the chain of events it kicked off saved my life. So thanks.
Piano is to die for (Hornsby?) , the feel of electricity in the hot humid night air , with rolling thunder in the distance and the Cajun moon ignite the bayou with singing life , we sing the body electric southern style in this , its a symphony of poetry that definitely has a strong beating hear and again that piano is to die for .
I finally found it!!! After years of searching, I finally found my favorite Dolby ditty! I didn't find it because I thought the title of the song was "Under a Cajun Moon"... I bet I'm not the only one who made that mistake. :-)
1. THANK YOU! YOU, my friend, are the ONLY one to have this classic on utube (studio version)
2. I feel a bit better about the human race to see a dude of your youth appreciate the genius of TMRD & express it by having the cajones to video yourself getting into this Beauty of a Dream. (love that song of this album too)
All we need is Mr. Dolby making music forever to help get through the days. I see he is back from Silicone Valley doing it again, so I'm stoked for more Windpower
@Treadlightlyful - Hey Tread, it's interesting that you say this because I think one time I saw on one of those morning news shows where Bruce Hornsby did a song and Thomas Dolby was helping him. Oops, sorry, maybe it was Howard Jones helping. I think it was that "What is Love" so I think it was someone helping Howard Jones not the other way around. Oh, well. I guess as they say, "Never mind!" :D
The video is pretty decent, but I have always loved this song, it's my absolute favorite by Mr. Dolby, and one of my top ten all time favorite songs ever.
Great choice of song. Great to have it for more people to discover.
I remember hearing Dolby's first album back in the early 80's at 5am on a drizzly Miami Morning, sitting in a Coconut Grove candle lit loft. A powerful moment for me. This is a great interpretation of this song. Well done. Don't ever quit.
Spectacular video... I came because I loved the song, I stayed because I loved the video. (For those wondering: the video is silent for the 1st 30 seconds, on purpose. Do not attempt to adjust your speakers.) :)
this song is awesome. ive loved it all my life. i was 18 in 1970. must have been the best year ever to graduate to college in the midsts of all that amazing music and politics. i am so grateful i lived in OC and got to see so many of these legends like dolby . this video is top notch. cudos to the artist. i loved it. this song is about mood. you brought it to us visually. thanks gl
Why is the original video blocked in the USA? Such a fantastic song and the original video with him playing that upright piano on the raft in the river was so perfect! WTF?
Feel you on that one. This song is sooooooooooooooo great... and the video is as well... but thank god for you, Akriloth, for keeping this song alive on youtube... shit, I don't know what I would do without it because I lost the CD long time ago and when I get drunk and think of ex girlfriends i have to hear this song...
Great interpretation of the song. More than the video produced for the video originally. . ther are references of night time that are not addressed in the orinal video that your video more entrennched in nature yours does. i wish T Dolby had taken on a more literal video story line in his original video becaudzse it so rich in story. I am a little left wanting with his but you went for more atmosphere in your effort. BRAVO!
Great song. Akrolith thnx for posting. Is that you in the video? Either way keep the passion and and keep an ear out for GREAT MUSIC that is NOT on the radio.
Hey AK, ty for all of this. Beautiful sound quality (how'd you do that?) and some lovely camera work. Refreshing video, nice work, intriguing, could you explain some of your imagery/symbolism?
Thanks for the feedback. The sound quality was actually from ripping the music from a cd, then putting it into the sound bar on windows movie maker, and as for the imagery, I did say in the description that the whole video was meant to be abstract, so there's not much I can say on that. But anyway, thanks for the praise.
Yeah, if they can't stay without getting overconcerned about their copyrighted music as opposed to our basic human rights, then their status as a corporation should be questioned!
I'm not gonna lie that's was good I liked the ending where he drops the glasses in slow motion that was good
