  • I'm not gonna lie that's was good I liked the ending where he drops the glasses in slow motion that was good

  • Akrolith, I want to thank you for putting this up. I first discovered it two years ago, and I came across it once again a few weeks ago after looking at your channel from the related videos bar on an Ashens video. This video right here is what made me go out and be a bit more courageous in my life, and the chain of events it kicked off saved my life. So thanks.

  • Piano is to die for (Hornsby?) , the feel of electricity in the hot humid night air , with rolling thunder in the distance and the Cajun moon ignite the bayou with singing life , we sing the body electric southern style in this , its a symphony of poetry that definitely has a strong beating hear and again that piano is to die for .

  • I know this song well, and I think you respected it well and did a good job.

  • I finally found it!!! After years of searching, I finally found my favorite Dolby ditty! I didn't find it because I thought the title of the song was "Under a Cajun Moon"... I bet I'm not the only one who made that mistake. :-)

  • @Akriloth2160

    1. THANK YOU! YOU, my friend, are the ONLY one to have this classic on utube (studio version)

    2. I feel a bit better about the human race to see a dude of your youth appreciate the genius of TMRD & express it by having the cajones to video yourself getting into this Beauty of a Dream. (love that song of this album too)

All we need is Mr. Dolby making music forever to help get through the days. I see he is back from Silicone Valley doing it again, so I'm stoked for more Windpower

  • Eighteen hundred thumbs up for this Dolby masterpiece. Thanks for fighting for it.

  • GEMA SUCKS!

  • piano is just banging in this piece , like Bruce Hornsby , just bangin ...

  • @Treadlightlyful - Hey Tread, it's interesting that you say this because I think one time I saw on one of those morning news shows where Bruce Hornsby did a song and Thomas Dolby was helping him. Oops, sorry, maybe it was Howard Jones helping. I think it was that "What is Love" so I think it was someone helping Howard Jones not the other way around. Oh, well. I guess as they say, "Never mind!" :D

  • The video is pretty decent, but I have always loved this song, it's my absolute favorite by Mr. Dolby, and one of my top ten all time favorite songs ever.

Great choice of song. Great to have it for more people to discover.

  • I love this. Thanks tons.

  • I return to your video interpretation time and time again

  • I remember hearing Dolby's first album back in the early 80's at 5am on a drizzly Miami Morning, sitting in a Coconut Grove candle lit loft. A powerful moment for me. This is a great interpretation of this song. Well done. Don't ever quit.

  • @markboccaccio Hey sorry Man! For a second there I thought you were talking about the Airmen's Club at Clark Air Base! :D

  • An excellent music

  • Absolutely BEAUTIFUL song by Mr. Dolby. Priceless.

  • Spectacular video... I came because I loved the song, I stayed because I loved the video. (For those wondering: the video is silent for the 1st 30 seconds, on purpose. Do not attempt to adjust your speakers.) :)

  • this song is awesome. ive loved it all my life. i was 18 in 1970. must have been the best year ever to graduate to college in the midsts of all that amazing music and politics. i am so grateful i lived in OC and got to see so many of these legends like dolby . this video is top notch. cudos to the artist. i loved it. this song is about mood. you brought it to us visually. thanks gl

  • I remember buying this single AND the album upon release. IN THE U.S.! Why the F##k can't I watch the video? or Quantum Mechanic, for that matter??

The GREEDY politicians want globalization for Business... but my country isn't allowed to watch A MUSIC VIDEO!??

Oh, Dude, by the way, AWESOME job!!

  • I would not be complete without this song.

  • good job on the video

  • One of my favourite recordings of all time.

  • A supervisor from work intorduced me to Thomas Dolby. Great musician. Great song.

  • Great job Akrolith. Very nice to see the effort you put into bringing your vision to this, one of my favorite songs. Keep up the great work friend.

  • Wonderful. Great job. My thanks.

  • Why is the original video blocked in the USA? Such a fantastic song and the original video with him playing that upright piano on the raft in the river was so perfect! WTF?

  • @rmgeary127

Quite frankly, I agree. More people need to see it.

  • @Akriloth2160

Feel you on that one. This song is sooooooooooooooo great... and the video is as well... but thank god for you, Akriloth, for keeping this song alive on youtube... shit, I don't know what I would do without it because I lost the CD long time ago and when I get drunk and think of ex girlfriends i have to hear this song...

  • @rmgeary127

It was on here for the longest time and then the PTB had it removed......Jerks!

  • @rmgeary127 Totally agree. What a song.

  • this is a short story. I have read it a dozen times and still am surprised by the ending. Good song.

  • Awesome! Thomas Dolby was a presence most people couldn't understand but those of us who just took the time to listen. Thank you Mr. Dolby

  • I love your film!, Thank you for making this! That gave me the chills several differnt times!

  • outstanding vid man-well done.

  • Thanks for posting. This is one of my favourite TD tracks. Great piano. Enjoyed the video.

  • Great interpretation of the song. More than the video produced for the video originally. . ther are references of night time that are not addressed in the orinal video that your video more entrennched in nature yours does. i wish T Dolby had taken on a more literal video story line in his original video becaudzse it so rich in story. I am a little left wanting with his but you went for more atmosphere in your effort. BRAVO!

  • Bravo!

  • Brilliant, Akriloth....you are English, yes? The sound could have been better synched with the images...but other than that, excellent.

  • I haven't heard this song for a while. Always thought Thomas Dolby made it sound atmospheric and haunting. Good video.

  • yeah...what a cool song...one of the best songs in the US...wow

  • nicely done, one of my favs. Thomas Dolby is VERY creative.

  • Akriloth2160..still sounds good brotha. keep the passion dude. Happy New Year, Muzac

  • Perfect blend of organic and electronic instruments. Good lyrics and vocals too!

  • @jjmcduff FIRST HEARD THIS SONG ABOUT 16 YEARS AGO, AND IT ALWAYS SOUNDS FRESH EVERY TIME I HEAR IT, WHAT A GREAT PIANO AND VIOLIN SOUND

  • master pieace from Thomas Dolby...

  • It looks like SC.

  • apart from the cars driving on the left :)

  • Great song. Akrolith thnx for posting. Is that you in the video? Either way keep the passion and and keep an ear out for GREAT MUSIC that is NOT on the radio.

  • Yeah, that's me alright.

  • @Akriloth2160 EXCELLENT JOB MAN, WOULD LIKE TO MAKE VIDEO WITH YOU SOMETIME, I'M A BLUES SINGER, WOULD LIKE TO DO ONE FOR TRAIN KEPT A ROLLIN

  • Not bad...Great song choice.

  • good job, where was it filmed?

  • On the cycle path just near the suburbs where I live.

  • what STATE?

  • England.

  • that's not a state, but you're welcome here in the U.S.A.,!

  • Hey AK, ty for all of this. Beautiful sound quality (how'd you do that?) and some lovely camera work. Refreshing video, nice work, intriguing, could you explain some of your imagery/symbolism?

    Keep it up

  • Thanks for the feedback. The sound quality was actually from ripping the music from a cd, then putting it into the sound bar on windows movie maker, and as for the imagery, I did say in the description that the whole video was meant to be abstract, so there's not much I can say on that. But anyway, thanks for the praise.

  • i think it is welldone

  • Was looking for the actual T.D. vid and came across this -- VERY well done. One of my all-time fave songs. Well done, you.

  • hey wmg if you are watching fuck you fuck you fuck you in the ass

  • That's from tourettes guy, isn't it? Anyway, a very good point. SCREW WARNER!!!!!

  • SO Great. Nice job man. Really, really, great song. Great video. Kudos.

  • I love this song. Nice job of bringing somethig of youself to the production

  • Great job on this video! I hope it doesn't get muted anytime soon. I've had some of my own music videos slashed down by evil WMG...

  • Love it! For a no-budget production, you really did a good job of recreating Dolby's original vid. Thanks for putting this up!

  • is that guy in a hat thomas dolby, Akriloth2160?

  • No, that's actually me. Trust me when I say that Thomas Dolby himself only bears a rudimentary resemblance to me.

  • Nice, WMG for the epic fail!!!!

  • I'm lovin' it! WMG SUCKS!

  • Yeah, if they can't stay without getting overconcerned about their copyrighted music as opposed to our basic human rights, then their status as a corporation should be questioned!
