..and no doubt would want to turn off their stage personae after a while. They are human, just like anybody else, and should not be expected to"perform" 24/7. I care not about their personal lives, I pay to hear their music and they owe me nothing more. I do not clamor for their recognition or attention. I hope they and their families are able to live a normal life.
Don't be too quick to judge. These guys probably met 100's of fans each week, and had to deal with obsessive ones camping out by their homes, strangers claiming ownership of their material, or ownership of the organisation for some reason or another. No doubt plenty of nuisance lawsuits, long lost "friends", people misquoting or making up statements about them or what the allegedly said about others. Put yourself in their shoes, they probably had to learn to be guarded the hard way.......
cvidalia is soo lucky i would like to meet the statlers . and of corse eat with jimmy at wendys or arbys! my grandma always reminds methat as a five year old i had a big crush on jimmy.
Harold's a little hard to get to know but Don's as friendly as the day is long. Harold's grandkids and my kids attended the same school in Staunton. Their former museum complex is now Grace Christian Elementary and Middle School.
I've talked to the Statler's many times at concerts, but when we went to Staunton, Va. Harold was a snob!! Phil & Jimmy were extremely friendly. Don was so-so. We even ate at Wendy's with Jimmy & his wife then girlfriend. That was the highlight of the trip for our kids.
I've had the exact same experience: Phil and Jimmy couldn't be nicer, Don polite but cautious, Harold an absolute butthole. I've heard this from others, too.
what the heck does this song have to do with the statlers???

Too bad you didn't use his voice and music all the way through, but I still love Harold. Met him this fall--still cute, even with white hair!
