have u played hockey? probably not....when u throw a body check most times u use your arms....you turn ur body a quarter of the way and wind up...so u do not hit them with ur stick
i've played for over 13 years and have seen many more hits that have been much dirtier....how about niklas hagman getting elbowed? or scott stevens hitting people 4-5 seconds late thats a cheap shot...

Started playing when I was 5 and played triple a up to junior B. I know hockey. There isn't anything cool or defensible about this elbow. See Boogaard's hit on Bourque...now THAT is an amazing and clean hockey hit. I love to see guys get hammered cleanly as much as a great goal...seriously dude check the boogaard hit on bourque if you haven't...it's amazing lol

oh i've seen it....yea it's definatly one of the better hits around, and am not saying this wasn't dirty....as i said it was late and he did get the elbow...but wen ur 6'8 ur arms are gonna hit smaller peoples head...i just dont think it was THAT bad compared to hits i see when people jump 3 feet off the ice and get somoene right under the chin

It's not even that bad. Half of the reason he was hit in the head with the elbow is because Boogaard is so tall. % was excessive, An elbowing, Match penalty should be enough.
