I am an anglophone from BC and I think that Quebecers should speak the language that they feel best represents their heritage and not what the majority of Canadians speak (nor just beause it is 'easier'). Canada was 'created' in the presence of both cultures and I think that this unique heratige is important for ALL Canadians to acknowledge. This means that anglophones acknowledge the French heritage and visa-versa.
why should they care about learning english if french is a part of their heritage? a lot of english speakers don't bother learning any other languages!
I'm from Quebec and I don't hate french at all. In fact, my oldest friend is from France and all her family as the frenchaccent and I love it. I really want to go to France.
I like Qubec, and really would like to visit your country, or province. But why does so many quebecois hate France, and why compare to France? France is a wonderful country, and you should cooperate since you partly share the same culture.
And wouldn't it be nice with a song in canadian french?
Picture are from old Québec city (0:00 to 9:00). I'm from this city, and I have to say that the guy only thake picture of old french architecture or british specific buldings and traditions. He is a tourism, and he take tourism pictures. Québec has other fun thing to watch and to proove. M. Labaume, the mayor, whant to improve new kind of bilding form, like ecologic, all-wood and Euro-Contemporary architecture.
Architecture moderne, ville francophone... Match parfait quoi!
why does quebec want to separate from canada? i'm from Venezuela and my gf is from Canada, i didn't understand why they wanted to separate. Can anyone explain? thank you =)
I lived in Montreal for several years. Saying that Quebec wants to separate from Canada is pretty drastic... there are people who feel that Quebec would be better off on its own but we have to be realistic. There are many cultural differences: they speak french, they do not view the queen of England the same way the rest of Canadians do and they have a different history (even if they are part of the same country) they can relate more to France (an ocean away) than to the rest of its citizens...
Well, Quebec ppl say that Canada steal money from them and that it doesnt really pay attention to them since theyre french. Quebec wants to have its own gorvernment :o
Well It seems to me that its just a product of the increased segregation between the two languages. In most major cities in Quebec, it seems almost mandatory to learn to speak english, but the rest of the country couldn't care less about learning french. Canada has two official languages, but french takes the back seat. It really isn't fair. If the entire country spoke both languages, it wouldn't be a problem, or perhaps not as big a one.

It's cool there but in France there are many more things to see, each region is totally different and the climate has nothing to do whether if you're in the North, the South, East or West. France is much more rich culturally speaking. But I got to Québec and I liked it as well !
In the sense that there is much more consumable culture in France than in Quebec. Your statement is akin to saying that the state of New York is culturally richer than the state of Kansas. Sure, New York has more museums, art galleries, and Broadway shows--very good for tourism. A good barbecue, hunting and eating wild turkey, and enjoying a good spring sunset/storm can't be done in a weekend let alone in a week. Perhaps we'd better define what culture is before we say how much of it there is.

Quebec french is awesome, because everyone in Quebec cusses like a truck driver.... a girl in my class went to Quebec as a foregn-exchange thing [and in return we got a nice Quebec girl]. She says that in Quebec, everyone is non-stop cussing all the time, and even in schools, teachers and students cuss at eachother, and no one thinks anything of it. THAT IS AWESOME!! and in Montreal, every second store is a porn shop.
Quebecois aren't as uptight as us Anglos, except for the language laws LOL XD
Ya, one thing.... Speak to a Quebecois in English, and he'll totally ignore you even if he's fluent in English.... He expects you to speak to him in French. Well not everyone let's say, but the normal people who lives outside Montréal do.
Quebecers in Montreal are either really rich or really poor, normally, except for the students.
Montréal is more the home of immigrants now, even english community is losing it's ground, because most of peopl who speak english in montréal are not even canadians.
