  • Kick-ass guest star at the end. :D

  • Hey. I agree with you mate. Many programs in the UK have disabled characters in them that are played by nondisabled actors. There is like 1 or 2ppl I can think of that are disabled but, thats their character. I do think there should be more disabled ppl in shows where the disability isn't necessarily the point of the character. The BBC has an annoying habit of trying to tick as many boxes as possible in the politically correct department but in the end just misses the whole point about inclusion

  • Truth be told, Kyle...we are just that minority. We're that low percent of the population and when we stand out, people see the disability. People sometimes see us as "the one". Bring it in a smaller view, I don't know about you, Kyle, but I have been given awards because I'm in a chair.

  • Yes, it pisses me off that they give award to my chair and not me, but that's just how it is. Of course, there are loads of times that awards that I won for what I do best but yes, it pisses me off that it's like this.

  • Look at Hollywood, how many disabled actors are really out there? (I love Superman by the way, for those of you who don't know, after he got a SCI, he still acted) People don't wish to hire or show what we can do or make us a celebrities because...well because we're in a chair and that don't work out either around the set or what not.

  • But don't worry, Kyle/AJ, there are people working to change that. Now as far as being famous...talk to me and we can talk about what we can do to get you guys there. Another great episode =D

  • That isn't true...on the Andy Griffen show there was a barber or someone who couldn't walk. You never noticed because they always had him sitting somewhere. And that was how many years ago? I think directors/sets/w/e can manage today if they could back then.

  • No one in the general public by that i mean, stupid America, will ever think of casting a disabled person as ladies man i would love to see that it would be very original and in todays theater with the lack of original ideas it just might work

  • As of 2000 within the key spending demographics(aged 16-64 w/ 18-35 being the biggest spenders), the disabled only make up about 18% of the population. On occasion profit can be made by showcasing a disabled star (e.g. Zupan or Matlin), but by and large, even in the era of the ADA there still isn't a place on screen for the disabled.

  • Also, movies tend to function, in part, as a form of fantasy fulfillment. There are very few of the temporarily abled who are able to identify with a disabled character beyond the hackneyed stories of pity or triumph over adversity.

  • That was very entertaining. You clearly put a lot of effort into it. It's funny and informative!

  • we have more sport disabled celebs than we do actors thats just not right is it who is josh bluer u mentchon him in the vid
