@azrulz1993 inside of 2:00 minutes, the booth upstairs decides whether the play merits a more in depth review by the official on the field. being that this play resulted in a change of possession, the booth had plenty of time to review the play and decided that it did not merit any further review. was this the right call? i dunno, if i was a cardinal's fan i would have liked it to get a more in depth look. but i also don't think the call would have been overturned if it was taken to the field.
@Gbntly7 his arm was not moving forward when woodley initiated contact. he was still winding up when woodley made contact. and the rule isn't as simple as "the arm coming forward". you need to have control of the ball in the follow through. as far as the ball moving forward, WOODLEY KNOCKED IT OUT and warner's arm made it go forward, AFTER he lost possession. enough with the excuses already. i have so many holds, blocks in the back arizona got away with in my vid. we won, end of discussion
@Gbntly7 i could go on and on bringing up instances when the nfl came out saying the refs blew a call that cost a game. they admitted the mistake by hochulli against the chargers in 08 when he called a cutler fumble an incomplete pass, giving them another chance to win the game, which they did. they admitted that they blew the call in 98 when they gave testaverde a td for the jets against seattle when the ball was a good yard short. this call was correct. you need to have control of the ball
@Gbntly7 continued....they apologized to the giants in 02 after they blew a call in the playoffs, penalizing the giants for an ineligible receiver downfield on a pass from the kicker on a bad snap when A, the receiver was eligible, and B, there was pass interferece so they should have been set up within the 10 yard line as opposed to the game ending. they apologized for the godawful overturning of polamalu's interception in indy in the 05 playoffs that got the colts back into that game, etc
@Gbntly7 no it wasn't. listen to what pereirra is saying. the ball was already coming out before his arm followed through. it will all be in my vid that isn't finished yet. and your theory of the nfl "covering up conspiracies" is weak too. i guess that's why the nfl actually apologizes to teams when they blow calls. they sent us an apology letter in 07 after jacksonville won a playoff game against us because the refs missed 2 blatant holds that allowed david garrard to get into fg range
My ass it was a fumble. He was in motion throwing it foward; it was an incomplete pass. How else would the ball have shot foward if he wasnt throwing it?
how did we "cheat". explain this to me. the ball was coming out before warner's arm came forward. for it to be ruled an incomplete pass, the passer must have complete control of the pass while the arm is coming forward. he did not have control of the ball while his arm was coming forward. it was a fumble. do some research. it takes 2 seconds to look up the nfl rule book online.
no he didn't. the ball was being knocked out by lamarr woodley before his arm came forward. possession means having complete control like a receiver would have to. that doesnt mean the ball bouncing around in his hand with no grip on it. do your research
its not the fake fumble thats my problem, its the one footed catch by santonio holmes that was reviewed and upheld that drives me crazy. and to hell with mike perera or how ever he spells it, that play wasn't reviewed and hes needed fired for about 4 years
you're wrong on both cases. santonio got both feet down. i will send you my video that has photographic evidence that proves it to be true. and whether you want to believe it or not, it was a fumble by warner. the ball was coming out before warner's arm came forward. for it to be ruled an incomplete pass, the passer must have complete control of the ball while the arm is coming forward. it was reviewed by the replay official in the booth and correctly ruled a fumble
What a crock! As if no one would disagree with whether it was a fumble after watching the replay. Somehow the ball went foreward and yet it was not a foreward pass. That's interesting.
LOL Arizona fans just complain and have excuses because they didnt win.
Now i can't say anything about the call,(even though i thought it was right)but i know for a FACT the NFL, yes professinal NFL referees know how to call a penalty better than anyone on Youtube.
So no reason in wasting your time bitching about a call because you guys lost the only superbowl you've ever been to.
Can you really say "ignorant fans"? After all, I wonder how many people in the valley knew there was a team in Arizona before they made it to the super bowl
I am not a Cardinals fan, I am not a Pats fan, I actually like the Steelers more than I like the Cardinals, but I think they NFL botched this one big time. WAY too close not to have an official look at it.
How exciting a jump ball to Fitzgerald would have been!
He wasn't technically holding it when the forward movement of his hand started. As the video said, he had partially lost control by then and had fumbled it the moment he lost full control. Just because he was able to propel the ball forward didn't mean that he still had possession.
Of course they are going to say the call on the field was correct when they fucked up and didn't review it during the game. I don't give a shit if it was a fumble, It should've been reviewed WTF
Did you even watch the game, or are u just ignorant? If the booth reviews the play..they stop the game and look it over. If you are watching at home you would know..because it says BOOTH REVIEW. They are making excuxes for their mistakes.
the booth reviewed it upstairs while the referee was calling the penalty for james farrior removing his helmet. ironic that he would call a penalty for removing the helmet on farrior yet warner removed his helmet on multiple occasions and no penalty was called considering the refs "gave us every call" (SARCASM). al michaels said during the broadcast that it was confirmed that it was a fumble by the replay official in the booth right before the steelers took a knee to end the game.
Yeah I know really I was watching the game like oh they will review oh nevermind dont think ive ever been so pissed not that the steelers won just the fact that they didnt review it.
The booth officials are NOT going to send a play down out of desperation like a head coach would have. If he had been able to, Whisenhunt would have definately thrown a challenge flag....as any coach would have....because you KNOW the game is over if the call stands - so you hope against hope it gets overturned....even if you KNOW it won't be.
But the only way the call gets sent down is IF the booth official isn't sure. That's the rule. He got time to review it and confirmed the call...

LOL @ Steelers fans. Another tainted title that they have to justify to the world forever. It was a forward pass. His arm was going forward, that's it. Steelers fans play experts and talk about ball control? What are you? Referees?
Yes his arm went forward but he did not have TOTAL Control of th ball due to the contact, listen to the VP again.
How much were the refs on our side when they flaged us for a safety after the ball was released and the DT would have never had enough time to get to Ben and Ben sealed the game with a first down pass to Holmes?
Teh centers hands were inside the frame of the body of the DT but he got ran over.
Then they call holding on the first play of Pitt's final drive.
I completely agree with you! I am a Seahawks fan and I will NEVER FORGET how the Stealers and the Refs "won" XL. This is another stolen title, given to them by the Refs and they will always use that argument about stop crying. I want to see what you guys will do when/if a Super Bowl is ever stolen from you. Hopefully Ben has a career ending injury next season so he doesn't go on to be in the HoF because the refs are sure setting him up to be a HoF QB.
1. i never said warner didnt fumble, i said the play needed to be looked at on the field. the play was important enough and close enough to warrant a review.2. the guy who ran into the kicker was tripped by an offensive lineman(thats a fact, not an opinion.check the tape) therefore a blown call. 3. you really dont get it do you? you said nothing new or intelligent in your last post so this is a waste of my time.kinda like you're a waste of skin. take it easy dumba**
and these are a few of the facts. just because you dont like what i said doesnt mean you can change the definitions of "fact" and "opinion". take away the fact that you a steelers fan and look at this like a football fan. the last play needed to be reviewed and the steelers came out on the better end of some blown calls. if you dont have anything intelligent to say or anything new to say then pls dont reply, you're starting to sound like a child.
now your the one who doesnt know what he's talking about. a blown call is not a matter of opinion. these are just a few of the FACTS that led to my OPINION and i'm sure if you just use your head you can understand the difference. block in the back on harrisons interception return, the bogus holding call that led to arizonas safety, facemask call that should have been offsetting penalties but gave steelers a first down, runing into the holder(that one had not been called all year in any other gam
what happened in the game(the missed calls and blown calls both ways are the facts) led me to my opinion that the steelers got the advantage because of the blown calls. i know you arent that bright but you can read this as slow as you want, as many times as you want until you understand it.
now take a moment to see if you can understand, my opinion is based on the facts from the game. if you need a tutor on basic comprehension i'm available if you're willing to pop your grey matter out of your brown hole.
never said the steelers didnt get screwed either, but if you watched the game the steelers came out on the better end of the blown calls. thats a fact of sports, dont get on me for pointing it out. the play needed to be reviewed. and i'm not ******* about them getting jobbed you noob, just stating a fact.
dont care either way because i dont like either team, but this play should have stopped the game for a full review and i saw at least 4 other calls that went the steelers way that in MY opinion gave them the game.
did u c the fitzgerald hail mairy 2 years ago against the 49ers rite b4 halftime he was covered by 6 guys and he scored a touchdown! they could easily have one
Yes. They absolutely COULD have. But even the Cardinals miss many, many, many, many more hail marys than they convert on. So all I'm saying is that it's very unlikely that they would have converted on one random attempt. That's all.
Fumble or not, it was over. You had 59min and 45sec to score all the points you wanted, but couldn't get it done. In the end, you see the reason one team in the NFL has 6 rings. They write the book on Pro Football.
This is football... anything can happen... look at this past year: desean punt return, garrard hail mary... 6 sec. left for one last throw, anything can happen... I just love the arrogance of some fans to think they know more about the rules then the VP of the refs, the Commish, the refs themselves, and even the Cardinals organization. Despite what all those reliable and unbiased sources say about the game some poeple just beleive they know more. ARROGANCE!
He's lying. That play wasn't reviewed. That was the tuck rule written all over it.

wh1teflower 3 years ago
Wrong, his fingers only puched it forward after he lost control of the ball and it was rolling in his hand.
Just becasue the arm moves forwad while the ball is on his hand does not make it an incomplete pass if it has left his grip.
Bigbadben7 3 years ago
his fingers puched it forward, which makes it a forward pass, its a fumble
wh1teflower 3 years ago
It's amazing how some fans think they know the rule book better than the Head official in al of football.
He loses his grip of the ball from Woodly's hand before his fingers do anything.
In order for it to be an incomplete pass he must have full control of the ball while his arm is moving forward.
Are you saying the VP is lieing when all you have to do is check the rule book?

I just love the arrogance of some fans to think they know more about the rules then the VP of the refs, the Commish, the refs themselves, and even the Cardinals organization. Despite what all those reliable and unbiased sources say about the game some poeple just beleive they know more. ARROGANCE!
