I don't think it's going to be a sequel. I think Superman The Man Of Steel is going to be a total revamp without taking us through the whole origins story again. They're supposed to pick it up at a normal day of Superman's day fighting evil. Everybody knows the origin now, even the new generation with Smallville. No. Smallville was not a fill in for the beginning. That's what the Superman comics were for. What Smallville was, was a sad interpretation of Superman's adolescence. Secondly, this movie is not a continuance of Superman Returns. This movie is a predecessor to all the Superman movies before it, similar to Batman Begins. Thirdly, Bizzaro isn't evil and he isn't the only version of Superman, contrary to what I am sure you were told by Smallville. He just has a skewed perspective of things.
