I've just spent the last hour making this. It was hard to follow in some places because the video was sped up a little too fast i.e. The folding/locking together at the end. I would definately say that it's more impressive to watch this and see the final product in the video then try and do it yourself. I used 16 pieces of A4 paper and found it very frustrating... This was my first attempt at modular origami or origami of any kind.

Each piece of paper is a square. I don't know what is the actual size(in cm) are the pieces of papers, but just get a square piece (ratio of 1x1)

Sorry about the late reply, It's your opinion to figure out what colors would go together and look nice. In my opinion, A darkish blue color would fit nicely with a shining gold/yellow.
