  • Hi, What type of adhesive glue did you use? 3M stickers? or? Thanks.

  • i have replace my touch screen ot htc sensation and the display is not working now what may be the problem to that and i have cheked all the conector cabels they are in place so i have no idea any help ?

    thanks

  • @roomN101 If you have checked the connectors (fully inserted and clamped down). Then it is a possibility you have shorted out the LCD. Sometime this happens due to electrostatic.

  • Gorilla Glass Breaks that easily ?

  • Or take to a repair shop...

  • hi i replaced the digitizer and when i started the phone afterwards everyting worked but after 1 second the screen turns "light" black and everyting else is still working correcly, and if i hit the on/off button to lock the screen it turns black as usual but when i turn the screen on again it works like one second then it turns "light" black again, so i can see all the colors and the backround for 1 sec then i must hit on off again. do you have any idea what i should do? (sry for my bad english)

  • @danilat0r Try checking the LCD Connector to make sure it's fully inserted and flush.

  • So digitizers are the outer glass layer?

  • @bsyerk Yes it is. The digitizer is the part that senses your touch, and it is attached to the underside of the glass you touch.

  • I bought a second hand one off ebay because I don't earn much but it's got a small chip on the bottom left hand corner of the phone. I dont know if getting a new case would solve the problem but any advice / help would be appreciated.

  • @SteveDGamer Yes, a new case would help to protect that area and keep the chip from spreading. Enjoy!

  • I replaced the screen and the phone turns on but the touch screen stopped working. Idk what to do :(

  • @SexySucy29 Try checking the LCD Connector to make sure it's fully inserted and flush. Depending upon where you bought the digitizer, it could have to do with the fact that it's a lower quality aftermarket part. We sell only high quality or OEM parts on our website.

  • when you removed odl glass, there was something like glue what you melted by heater... - and then, new glass you what? just was pushing on sides and that's it? without anything like glue? Why? ---

and I want to replace both display and glass on my sensation, so I will buy set of glass sticked to the display... - will I need to use heater to remove old screen+glass?

    thanks for helps :)

  • @88Lister replacing the digitizer and LCD together will save you a lot of effort in removing the old adhesive, as that is mostly found between the two.

  • @iRepairFast and between display and the rest of phone, there is no adhesive?

  • What kind of adhesive do you use and where can I get it?

  • @kingmichael428 search "HTC sensation Tape" on eBay. Good luck!

  • BEFORE START MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL TOOLS OKAY

  • what happened with the gorilla glass?

  • Shaky hands not recommended :) Anyway I'm suprised that kind of very sensitive micro SMD boards can be replaced with bare hands without damage...

  • be sure the numbers on broken screens ribbon match the numbers on the new one,,,,not all screens are created equal....u may find that your new screen is not as responsive as ur old one once was. this is because the numbers dont match. make sure when u buy it from ebay or amazon that u ask the seller what the numbers are on the ribbon.......

  • Now this guy can surely solve the most annoying sensation "dust problem" (:

  • respect to the one who broke the glas :O :D

  • Okayy soo whyy would you show the assembnly but not the reassembly thts dumb???? :/

  • hi, I've got an Sensation XE, do you think, that i can replace glass digitizer like here?

  • Hi, thx for this video. I have 3 questions:

    1) My brother has broken his glass on HTC sensation. Everywhere i look they have glass for HTC sensation 4g g14. is it the same as only HTC sensation? He bought his mobile 3days ago, and managed to break its glass yesterday :/

    2) u dont need to add new adhesive when putting new glass?

    3) what is 3m adhesive, why do u use that, and where do i get that from?

    Many thx!

  • Good job..works great... took 2hrs I used 3m tape to hold my volume buttons back in place. I think it was harder to keep the stuff fom getting under the new screen saver...lol

  • Power button also has to slide back under on one side-you may have to pry up the frame a bit.

I also second that you do not need to remove/pry up the LCD, just loosen the adhesive a bit (heat gun helps here) and the frame will flex enough to stick something in there to hold it open while you slide the cable in.

  • Replaced my shattered Sensation 4g screen today. This video helped a bunch. Used a Wiha set and a pair of tweezers for all of it. I didn't have any 3m tape laying around so I just used a few drops of contact cement (actually tubular tire glue) and a toothpick to spread it where I removed the old adhesive. Putting it back together go slow because there are a few things that you need to be sure are re-aligned-like the two cables on the sides must be tucked under the circuit boards' corners, etc.

  • 5:25 are you using a guitar pick? lol

  • @ToInfinity1 It's actually very common in the repair industry to use guitar picks, they are shaped perfectly for prying open plastic frames without damaging them.

  • I broke my display trying to replace the digitizer... Would not recommend trying to do this without prior experience of replacing spare parts on this type of products!

  • @C3l3b0rn Sorry to here that...It's definitely a delicate repair, there is always the possibility of error when fixing small electronic devices.

  • Whats the significance of prying the lcd up right before adding the new digitizer? Thanks.

  • Ahhh...to allow enough room for the ribbon. Sorry.

  • @stayxcalm You got it : )

  • @stayxcalm You really don't have to move the LCD at all. That long cut along the top of the frame will flex enough for you to get the ribon cable through there by just bending the plastic frame. Just stick the metal pry tool through the slit and flex the plastic a little. you only need a few mm to get the ic on the ribbon cable through. It saves some time and you don't have to worry about breaking the seal on the original adhesive.

  • question.... if it has gorilla glass how did it break?

  • @danerdrew Gorilla glass is in many phones, including certain models of the iPhone.. The glass is strong, but it is still glass, if you hit bullet proof glass hard enough you can crack it. The gorilla glass is built more to be thin and flexible as many smart phone manufactures are competing to make thinner and lighter devices.

  • Bloody hell mate, don't think I can do that to my phone lol, if I break my phone it gets replaced the next day via insurance, amazing how the robots at the factory put these phones together

  • @hamyg84 I'm not sure what kind of insurance you get in Australia, but here in America you pay a premium to turn your phone in for insurance! You are looking at $100-$150 just so they can send a refurbished phone to you. Many people would rather have us fix it for around $50 average repair cost.

  • @iRepairFast Yeah its $130 to get a refurbished phone. Id rather have it fixed but im not sure who and how much its gonna cost. how did you find out? did you call HTC or T mobile? thanks.

  • great tutorial, thanks!
