Barons are slick and fun, but they are a bear to slow down for approach without shock-cooling the engine unless you have spoilers... plus, can't get up mid-flight and take a dump. If I had $500K to spend, I'd get a tricked-out Baron rather than a B90 or some other propjet, but for the price you are paying for a 200, I would expect at the very least a turbine, perhaps even with no externally-rotating parts :)
@RobertGary1 You cannot cruise at 80% of a B200GTs cruise speed with any baron. 80% of 308 is 246. Theres simply no such thing as a baron that will cruise at almost 250 knots every day of the week. If I had 500k to spend, I would get an MU-2 before ever looking at Beech. The Mits is faster, bigger inside, and better built. It also has TPE-331s instead of PT-6s, which have almost double the TBO.
@1Gaumer Do your homework before making a comment that makes you look like an idiot. Go look at the NTSB reports and tell me when the last prop separation occurred on an MU-2. The TPE-331 and its prop setup are much more reliable than the PT-6. This would explain a TBO of between 5400 and 7000 hours. Theres also a reason that the MU-2 has ZERO airframe ADs. Its better built. The FAA nor the manufacturer have ever found a problem with the design. Cant say that about a King Air.
@bman2101 i know the MU-2 is a great plane i personally wouldn't have either of them i would go with a piper 400ls if i had a choice but damn no need to get this upset over a little aviation banter
@bman2101 If the MU2 is so great then why did they stop making them? The king is the only surviving Turboprop on the market today, except for the avanti of course. But that thing is in a whole other category so cant really compare.

Still a lot of fuel to burn. You can go 80% of this speed in a turbo Baron on 1/2 the fuel.
