I was never much of a fan of John Mayer until he started doing the Trio stuff. Now he's one of my favorite players. And I like the way he shows so much respect for all the players that influenced him.
@Crodon He has a collection of approximately 500 guitars, so I guess he has collected all the Fender models, and started on collecting other brands too!:p
I really like this guy, he is amazing, but this solo is not his best, in my opinion, me did a couple of mistakes, sorry guys, dont kill me :-( Anyway, he is an amazing player!

But com'on saying that his blues are mediocre; I think a couple of blues Legends who like to play with him on a regular basis would beg to differ. @19thSFGA I'll admit he's a bit overrated, but he's actually a good guitar player. You're right. Not as good as Freddie, Albert, or SRV, but at the very least you could give him some respect for trying to bring the blues back into pop culture.

@19thSFGA It's not as atrocious as you make it out to be. He may not be a warm, sweet player, but neither was Johnny Ramone. He is a bluesman. He's even said in an interview "I used to listen to Motley Crue etc. etc., but when I heard SRV there was a big regime change in terms of my bedroom posters." He's Jammed with Jeff Beck and many more greats. They wouldn't have invited him if he didn't have something to offer.

He is the possibly the greatest guitar player of our generation. His style of playing has changed over the years in the way that he wanted it to. And i couldnt possibly think of another guitar player in this day and age with as much soul as he has
