Yes he really should, Its a great airport, but of course he doesnt really consider our input, he just picks the airports on his own. Oh well, BDL is much better than JFK
theres a vid on how to fix that...but i'll tell you...open ur overhead panel, then in the top left there are three black buttons..click them all and when u do they should all say "off"....then the a321 will handle great!..if u can't figure it out i'll try to find the video and i'll send it too you.
You said you see stuttering on core i7 videos, I noticed stuttering on your video. I have stuttering because of FRAP/YouTube. When I'm playing without recording, smooth as silk.

In the midday, I strongly recommend flying from JFK Int'l (New York) to Boston Int'l. The view of Cape Cod is amazing from the sky and is pretty easy to locate from the penninsula.
I think that you will find KALB (Albany International) a great airport to fly into. I know it is a bit early for this distance to be covered from Charlotte. Maybe a feature trip. Thanks. Keep up the GREAT videos.
Why not? Do you find it too complicated? Computer assisted landings are how its done in real life (not all the time but occasionally) and even if its a manual landing the computers are all set up accurately for backup and to guide the pilot.
It's not too complicated, or because I don't know how the systems operate, I simply choose to always feature flying simulation that showcases flying abilities and not the abilities of a computer that can assist with landing.
Flying abilitites ARE using instruments accurately, it is all part of flying . My point is you get thousands of views, perhaps make it clear to less certain people that in real life instruments and computers are used (and also to flight sim enthusiasts) that it is possible in flight simulator to have lots of these functions.
I agree. While having computers is pointless if you can't control the aircraft by hand, knowing how to use them so they can assist you is very important nowadays. Its not about showing off, in real life pilots have responsibility for their passengers and crew, they are probably GLAD to have assisting systems to reduce workload.
I don't intend to "show off" to the viewers. Yes, I aim to make a unique video that is interesting to the viewer but my goal with my videos is to be different. I don't think my viewers come here to learn "complex" (depending on knowledge) systems and procedures. I could teach those ideas but I wouldn't be loyal to my goals with this project that I have spend the past three years on. This is FS, not real world, and I try to draw the differences at times so people understand they aren't the same.
I understand that and in the end its your decision of what you do. But also as well as FS isn't the real world, its a simulator and every one that produces videos or other content will be compared to the real world. Just a note :P
You're comment does hold good points. My goal with my videos is to show an interesting video that grabs the viewers attention for a few minutes. I feel over the past three years that I have mentioned to the viewers that different scenarios could have been completed differently by using on-board instrument systems. I'm not a real world pilot, so at times I don't feel it is right of me to teach, and my goal is not to teach to the viewers complex procedures. I appreciate your comments.
I know I wrote I would shut up (xD) but something has been on my mind. In one comment you say "this is FS, not real world", but yet in another comment you write "I'm not a real world pilot, so at times I don't feel it is right of me to teach". Since its not real world, then you don't have to be a real world pilot to teach. You just have to know what you are talking about (as a teacher). I just wanted to point that out, like I said, its your decision.
I choose not to teach because or deeply describe other procedures because I have found that only brings out arguments within the comment section, and I'm here to just share FS content, not see a comment war... You had a fair point, but I'm not looking to set myself up for problems from viewers who want to just make a scene.
I actually recorded the phonetic way first but then realized that some of the new FS users, or those who aren't familiar with the reasons behind saying it in a phonetic alphabet way, might have been confused.
I will likely use the phonetic alphabet next time.
Assuming all navigational equipment is functioning properely, it would not be easy. The NAV and ADF would have to fail, following the GPS and IRS systems. Then, to take orientation from the pilots completely, the Gyroscopic and Pitotstatic instruments would have to fail + low visibility weather.
The worst weather danger in this situation (Storm including lightning) would be an undetected "microburst" at low altitude. Though thanks to doppler radar these are detected easily.
Yeah well it happened to me too.. When I was about to land, the speed increased onto full power and therefore made me abort the landing.. I was using airbus 321 over there and when I looked on the Autopilot menus, I saw the auto-throttle to on. I tried switching it off and that's when the throttle gave up to me...
This inspired me to fly the same way. It was dark and at the end, I almost puzzled the airport with a power plant.^^
However, when I found the airport, I couldn´t land anyway, because just before the touch down, the engines suddenly went to full power by themselfes (no autopilot activated). :-(
I usually disconnect the Autothrottle on approach or short final. It gives me more control over the situation. I rely on computers to fly (FMS, FD, AP and AT) but in some situations it is just better to take control. :-)
The little press button beneath the Autopilot button, labeled "ATHR". When it is illuminated, the Autothrottle is enganged, if it is not illuminated, it is disengaged.
Now I made a 2nd landing, and the ATHR always activated by itself. Maybe because I clicked Ctrl + A before. Do you also use Ctrl + A or is it useless? Somewhere I read, you should click Ctrl +A when landing.
Approach mode means that the Autopilot will align the aircraft and follow the localizer and the glideslope down to the runway. The autopilot will follow the flight director's (FD) commands. But only if there is an ILS of course :-)
It shouldn't interfere with the Autothrottle system though. I am not very familiar with Airbus aircraft, I prefer Embraer and Boeing...maybe it has to do with the flight computers, try turning them off.
Try going to the overhead panel and deactivate all three flight computers. Like I said, there should be no reason for an Autothrottle connect without Pilot input, since its an important system.

Well, I was going by the "attitude indicator" usually you want to pull up to about 15 degrees
thefsxflyer 2 years ago
what would be the normal for a 747 to pull up on take off, because in real life it seems that the Boeing 747 takes off at a high angle.
Salvakins704 2 years ago
I think all planes pull up to 15 degrees. I think it looks like they pull a lot because of there size and speed.
thefsxflyer 2 years ago
oh
i never thought of that thanks :) lol
Sometimes i think the plane is going flip over on take off lol
Salvakins704 2 years ago
I'd say 5 to 8 degrees until clear on the ground and then 10 to 12 degrees after that, though it obviously depends on the weight.
LoneStarAviation 2 years ago
so the heavier the plane the higher degree it takes off at?
Salvakins704 2 years ago
Not necessarily. That could even be counter productive. It has to do with the Angle of Attack.

Ctrl + A is "Approach mode on/off"
Approach mode means that the Autopilot will align the aircraft and follow the localizer and the glideslope down to the runway.

P.S.: FD also was activated.

Try going to the overhead panel and deactivate all three flight computers. Like I said, there should be no reason for an Autothrottle connect without Pilot input, since its an important system.

Shift + R activates SPD

Airspeed holding mode usually is Ctrl+R, not Shift... Shift + R is Autothrottle Arm
Have you changed any key commands?

I´m sorry, I puzzled it. So I will try Shift + R.
