I bought my cheaper case verse Cooler Master Elite Mid Tower Case, RC-310-BWN1-GP (Blue) for 35 bucks on amazon by amazon, & I also got A new cooler master 560 watt power supply for 35 bucks awell
Hi, I love your reviews, they're really helpful. I'll be building a pc soon and i am wondering , do i have to use the case on a hard surface for the psu fan? I know i could mount it the other way, so that the fan is on top, but then there would be a slight cable management issue. So will the feet provide enough lift from the surface to give sufficient air to the power supply? It has a 120mm fan, corsair 500cx builder series. Thanks guys :)
@killenkallasjohan i know you commented a year ago and there is a possibility you have learnt something by now but in the video he measures the case 12inch long you cana just do a review on the gfx card and will find the length
@eilif9 Yeah, it's a good budget case, i've been using it for 6 months, problem is there isn't really any cable management, but you won't be entering it any contests anyway... It's not very big but it fits full ATX and surprisingly long gpu's (almost 11 inches). I got a gtx 260 in there, it's 10.5 inches (same as a gtx 580) and it has around 1/2 inch to spare, plus tons of HDD racks
@mast3rmgl nope, but you'll be hard-pressed to find one for under $700 lol. If you're gonna pay that much for a card, you might as well get a more expensive case than a $40 one... but like i said, it'll fit a gtx 580
@psychoclown420 I changed to the had 912 and my build price is 850 something lol I may get a $240 dollar card and wont mind spending 40 on a case dont get your might as well point there but whatever, I don't need a 200 dollar case to match :-)
@MacTechReviews00 I'm torn between them. The Elite 310 is sleek and sexy, but the Elite 430 is big and bulky, even though it has more variability. I was also looking at the Elite 431 Plus. Idk, i'm all for aesthetics haha.
Does anybody know if a Cooler Master v8 will fit inside this case? I'm currently running i7 920, Xfx ATI 5850, ASUS P6X58D-E and 6gb of Corsair 1600 on stock cooling. Any cpu cooler suggestions? Thanks.
I like the style of the elite 310 its a shame they did not include black interior, cable managment and more places to fix fans to it but then again its only a budget case I suppose.
All mid-tower and full-tower cases now come with either a 120mm or 140mm fan at the front , and you gotta check the case if the case has exhaust fan included...
Im getting my parents a new computer for christmas, I chose the Elite 310 for the case, but I got one without a window. I chose the CoolerMaster Silent Blue LED 90CFM Fan 120mm for the front.
I also got a Lamptron Classic Fanguard with Filter for the front fan and two DEMCi Flex Magnetic Fan Filter to put over the two vents in the side panel.
OK. Actually I would have preferred to get the case even cheaper without a power supply but the 500 was in there and there wasn't a huge power demand to be expected from it so it was adequate and reasonably priced.
Hoping Rodney can calrify few things. He mentions Gladiator 600 doesnt have much room to work whereas Storm Scout video review he mentions there's fair amount of room to work. Several reviews (e.g. techpowerup) indicate Gladiator interior is identical to Scout & should have same amount of internal room, cable management, etc. Is this true? Gladiator seems to have most features(except removable motherboard tray) that I am looking for and I am not into gaming/moving case frequently.
I havent seen these cases IRL but I think that they may be the same except for the paint job, handle and different front bezel. I think Storm Scout = Gladiator 600, just more marketing.
I have a coolermaster 310 elite and it look ALOT better in person. It is a great case! I have 1x 120mm fan at back (exhaust) and 1x 120mm blue LED fan at side (intake)
i like em Both ! :D i orderd The Gladiator 600 for a cliant but im thinking of getting it my self for my AMD pc ^^ but not sure wich one of these i will get i like both
Well, filters on the top exhaust fans might hurt more than help but I had a close call today when my friend accidentally spilled water into my case through the top fan port. Good thing my computer was off. But from this example, you can see where having foam mesh filters (like the rest of my fans) on the top exhausts may come in handy for freak water accidents, or if you constantly use your computer as a drink coaster, like me.
I never had a CM PSU but I loved my CM Centurion 590 midtower. Granted, it only came with 2x120mm fans. I was able to fit 4x120mm intakes (w/ 4-in-3 HD cage) and 3x120mm exhausts. I was also able to install a couple of sheets of sound dampening foam on both sides of the case. I bet I could even mount a DangerDen 2x140mm fan radiator on the top. The only problem I had was the lack of dust filters for the side and top fans and PSU. But that's not a problem with a little premeditation or ingenuity.
Some coolers are bigger ( like the Zalman CNPS 10x ) and they are very heavy and can damage your motherboard ( like bend it or worse ) so there is retention plate that goes behind the motherboard and gets screwed in on to the cooler for extra stability and strength.
no for standard coolers, sometimes you want another cooler, so you have to put an new plate at the back of your motherboard, without the hole you have to remove the full motherboard otherwise you just leave it in inside the case
I have the 600 and it about dust and heat free. The filters are a super help and I can see in the left side if theres any dust and after 6mo. its still very clean.Down side is case wont fit where old one did its kinda big but I still love it.
great = 3/5, like he said they are not bad cases, they are more of a buget case, now you start getting into the kissass and 100% kickass cases that have alot of features, you gooing to be sepending a good bit of money
The Ultra XBlaster with or without the side window, looks like a great deal in the barebones kits from Tigerdirect aka CompUSA, but there not they cage is too close to a standard mobo, making it hard to route cables, the front panel is a joke, cables are almost too short to reach, Air flow is just awful, I could go on but i won't. Like i said before please don't get this case, the old Ultra Defender Rod reviewed a good while back is much better then this newer Ultra case I talked about.
I just bought the Antec 300 case, and despite it not being tooless I like it. Very good value for the money. it's only $54.95 @ Newegg. I did add one side 120mm fan (AMD Phenom Quads run warm), but stock cooling for most is just awesome. One other plus to the Antec 300 is professional modders love it, cause it's almost a blank canvas. O yeah almost forgot the 3 stock blue led fans look wicked in the dark. ;-) please don't get the Ultra XBlaster it cam in my barebones, why i got the Antec 300.
I think I would choose the Elite 310 over an Antec 300. And one cooling fan at the front is not a fail at all, this is a budget case, designed for budget components, so there is no need for 3 fans at the front if you dont have a crazy 4.2ghz i7 tri sli set up. Nice cases, and great review as always :D
the first case is obviously a cheap budget case. i would rather pay the extra for a case that has had some thought put into the design to make our lifes easyer ;-)
Power consumption. The less power you use cuts on down on consumption of natural resources. In other words Green is in the new fad. Think of all the Pu**y you could get. You tell a chick you PC is eco-friendly and that a** is yours.

O yeah almost forgot the 3 stock blue led fans look wicked in the dark. ;-) please don't get the Ultra XBlaster it cam in my barebones, why i got the Antec 300.

both cases look excellent just one problem with the Elite 310 the front bezel has a pop out slot for a firewire port which ruins the look

I think I would choose the Elite 310 over an Antec 300. And one cooling fan at the front is not a fail at all, this is a budget case, designed for budget components, so there is no need for 3 fans at the front if you dont have a crazy 4.2ghz i7 tri sli set up. Nice cases, and great review as always :D

the gladiator look very similar to the e-lite 335

The Elite looks kind of cheap. The Gladiator looks a lot better though, in almost every aspect.

I was waiting all the way through this for something to resist him and watch the RODNEY RAGE we saw in his last video. 5/5

the first case is obviously a cheap budget case. i would rather pay the extra for a case that has had some thought put into the design to make our lifes easyer ;-)

does anyone ever actually swap out the stock fans for SMALLER fans? what would be the point?
and does anyone think that rodneys videos are becoming more rushed and less detailed?

Power consumption. The less power you use cuts on down on consumption of natural resources. In other words Green is in the new fad. Think of all the Pu**y you could get. You tell a chick you PC is eco-friendly and that a** is yours.
So yeah, smaller fans are the way to go.
coliwood 2 years ago
What are you talking about? Big fans and small fans have no diffrence in power consumption.
unless your using a Delta fan... in that case neither big or small fan from delta is efficient in power.
