I recently rescued my Chow boy Sully....and I truely have to believe Maddy would want me to have help mending the giant chunk of my heart that broke the day I lost her. Rip Boo...who knows maybe my Maddy girl and your Boo Boy are playing at the rainbow bridge : ) Peace to you and yours from one fellow lover of Chows to another. Dedra
@222kwee Good for you! I will rescue another dog when the time comes. Maddy would want someone with you--for protection (you know how protective Chows are). Thank you for taking Sully into your home.
what an amazing tribute to your beautiful boy Boo. He was gorgeous and regal looking as Chows are. My heart aches for you and I hope time can help heal. I had to make the heartbreaking decision to let my beloved Chow Maddy go as well last year. You did the absolute right thing for Boo...if only we as the human race had the same option as opposed to a life of pain and suffering. Bless you for rescuing...Boo was a lucky Chow boy to have found such a loving and caring family.
@222kwee I am so sorry to hear about Maddy. Maddy was lucky to have you-- as there are so many pets out there who don't have anyone. I'm sure she loved you just as much as you loved her.
hiya i feel ever so sorry for you im not at all a big wus but i started crying 1 minute into this video and baled my eyes out for the rest of it RIP Boo i luv u ! :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
What a handsome guy, he looks like a little lion sometimes! Animals really enrich our lives, I believe it's worth the pain when they leave us. We can learn a lot from them! Nothing compares with pet loss grief... sometimes people discount this; they don't know what they're saying. This vid is a tear-jerker Shawn! I hope making it helped a bit with your grief!
@75capriceconvertible I wish I had more pictures/video of him earlier on--before he got so old. He was everything to me. I grieved more for Boo than I have for any person I think i've ever lost. Isn't that horrible to say? But it's so true. I miss him so much.
@boinnng nope that's not terrible to say at all, I get it. After a couple of the relationships I've had with people, it just made me love animals even more :-D
A VERY MOVING chow video Ive a Chow chow friends page just posted it as brought ters to my eyes as just lost my Romeo he was to be 12 in december he had a good life like boo went everywhere n our fAMILY HAS HAD CHOWS for 50 years we had Yogi Bear who was 18 when found it hard to get around yogi like boo was a rich mahogany colour and very similar to look out RIP BOO !!!
my facebook page is under heatherlynettebonney love to hear from u !!! xx
@heatherbonney Hi Heather. I don't really know how old Boo was (he was a rescue). It was estimated he was between 16 and 17...but that seems old for a chow. It's amazing your family has had chows for 50 years---they are an amazing bred, very loving and fiercely loyal. I don't do Facebook, sorry. But I appreciated your comment. I am sorry for the loss of your Romeo.
@ioio1805 As you could see in the video, he was getting frailer and frailer, in great pain and having such a hard time walking--and he lived for his walks! towards the very end, he was having trouble getting up. He fall someplace and couldn't get up. He'd mess in the house--something he was terribly ashamed of doing--and it got to the point where he would get confused and get lost trying to find his door. We had him "put to sleep" finally when he was just so very worn out.
Well , it happens to all beings, we all will be frailer and frailer and won't be younger as a sweet 17 anymore but I couldn't imagine if I got frailer my best friend called a doctor to put me in a forever sleep .......-)).
@ioio1805 I feel guilty enough about doing it--and continue to feel guily, but he couldn't get up any more. As I said, he would have froze to death the night before if I hadn't woken when he was trying to get back in and fallen.
@ioio1805 The night before we had it done (it was done at home--not a vet's office, by the way), he fell while outside around 3 am (he'd gone to the bathroom). He could not get up. If I had not woken up he would have frozen to death on the patio. I don't know if it was more humane to give him a few more hours or if I should have left him to die outside of the cold. As it was he TRIED to do a walk that last day--but couldn't. He was resting in the doorway when the vet showed up.
oh my gosh boinng !..the most moving video I have ever seen. It also brought me to tears, but at the same time it is a lovely video to watch - to see how so obviously he had such a happy life with you and what a special relationship you had...may Boo rest in peace ... <3 I have a chow called Maya who is only 6 months.. ..I too would like to add you on f/b if you are on there.
@chrissybrook75 I'm sorry if the video upset you. Enjoy your sweet puppy. All too soon she'll be fully grown. I only had Boo for 6 1/2 years---time went by way too quickly. Cheerish your Maya as much as possible. Sorry--I don't have a FB. Cheers!
@thegermanprostitute He's only 8? Oh how sad. Boo was already older when I rescued him. He was with me for 6 1/2 years. I agree about the breed. I have never known a more loyal and loving (and protective) animal. He was just amazing. Enjoy Dakota while you can...
@thetruth257 I am sorry to hear about the loss of your pal. I also completely understand. My thoughts are with you and I'm sure that in his own doggy way, Mikey DID know you loved him. He loved you as well. KNOW that. Good luck to you.
I'm so sorry. I burst into tears watching this. It made me realize that I have to treasure my best friend Lucky more. She's also a chow, and shes 3 years old. I've never loved her more after seeing this. Thank you for opening my eyes Boo Boo and Boinnng. Thank you. R.I.P Boo.
@samsotto How strange I should come back after my lunch break and receive your comment, when all of the way back I was thinking about Boo and those final minutes, wishing I could go back and prolong things or say a more appropriate goodbye---just see Boo again. Yes, treasure your time with Lucky. She is lucky to have you. Time will go by so quickly. Thanks for the note. Cheers!
I am so sorry for your loss, I recently lost my german shepherd mix january 9, 2011. She was 15 years old and lived like a puppy until an emergency occurred and she passed away with my husband and I near her at the vet. This was such a beautiful video tribute, it was touching in so many ways. It also helped get out some much needed tears.
Boinng---I removed my orginal comment from your video, I understand why the music is the way it is, like I said I lost a dog that was 18 years old, and I have my little pal Bruno thats now 9 years old, and am watching him get older as well. It is a sad situation when you lose your BEST FRIEND and the music is fitting. @swrnc You didn't have to remove the comment. It was fine. And, zowie! I can't believe little Bruno is 9!!!! Yes, dogs can become family--or more than family. I know you understand. Cheers!
@gvchristopher Hi--Thanks for watching and I'm so sorry it upset you. Cheerish your beautiful chow chow. It's so unfair their lives go by so much quicker than ours. I only got to know Boo for about 6 years. I miss him so much. Be glad that you have him. Cheers!

@altezza172 Hi Altezza172. I just saw your note and don't think I ever responded to it. I do apologize... I'm sorry this video upset you. No, I have not gotten another dog yet. After Boo was gone, I went back to school. For about 2 more years I am in a nursing program. I've moved from my house into a tiny mother-in-law unit behind a garage and its jam-packed with all of my stuff from my house. No place for a dog. But once I'm done, there will be room for abnother (or two or three...) Cheers!

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful dog and he was so lucky to have you in his life as you in his. This video makes me cry did you ever get another chow as they are the most beautiful dogs. Thanks for having this beauful video on you tube.
I just re-watched Boos memorial video. Tears~ as I lost Jake my Cocker Spaniel of 15 yrs, 2 wks ago. Boo was so lucky to have you guys. They truly teach us what pure love is. When depressed, I try to remember Jake was happiest when we played, enjoyed life. Critters website tells of how our pets go 2 a place called Rainbow Bridge when they pass. No more sickness or pain 4 them. Once we pass on, they run over to join us. Then, we cross the bridge together. Corny, but a nice thought! Peace, Debi
@EFT4MeDebi I can't read that "Rainbow Bridge" poem withOUT bursting into tears. I am sorry to hear about Jake. 15 years is a long time---and I'm sure he was glad you were there for him all of the way to the end. I only had the pleasure of knowing Boo for about 7 1/2 years---far too short of a time (but I'm sure your 15 years with jake felt far too short as well. There never is "enough" time, is there?). Cheers!
This made me cry. I didn't realize it was a year ago today. The love pours out of your video and is more of a testament than most people get. Hello Sweet Boo, it was so good to see you again. Love, Janet
wow way to make a baby out of a cop! i cant remember the last time i cried but this video broke me down like a baby, thank you for that my wife was sitting next to me and was like awstruck at how bad it hit me, cause it wasnt only the dog it was the image of losing the one you love most! and it killed me to think about it but makes me val my life and my loved ones more, thank you sir!
What is tough with a dog is that, really, when you take stock of the things you really care about in life the list isn't all that long, is it? The dog is part of that short list.
What a sweetheart. I lost my dog a few month ago, and would like to make a video like this for her. This is such a beautiful video, it's making me cry.
I actually used to be friends with you on myspace and looked you up becuase you used to post such fun videos. The Boo tribute was the first thing I saw when I got to your youtube page. Oh my god I was crying through the whole thing. My dog Bailey died a couple of months ago and I still cry almost every day thinking about her. It's so hard to lose a pet because they are unconditional love. Your dog boo seemed so wonderful. This video really touched me and I'm glad I got to see it.
@Ghostographer I just saw your message. Who were you on MySpace??? Hmmm... I am sorry to hear about Bailey. I know how devastating the loss of a pet--especially those extra-special ones--can be. Thank you for watching Boo's video...
I looked this video up becuase...i was lookn for some comfort i jus lost my beloved chow man...he was the best i had 4 chows and jus lost 1 today...and has lost 1 last year...now all i have is 2...i love YOU COLBY TIGER KING(---his whole name i miss u too black God bless yall souls...
@raymondking092094 I am soooooo sorry about your loss. I think about Boo EVERY DAY. It's been 8 months as of today and, while I am not in tears at the thought of his being gone, the grieving hasn't stopped. As you know, Chows are an amazing breed. Colby Tiger King and Black God were lucky to have had you in their lives. Be strong for the remaining two. Cheers.
Oh god, I was crying during this whole video..you made a fantasic tribute for him. I know what you are going through, I am 19 now but my first chow died when i was 12 due to heart problems, we have another one now who we named after him (Prince) but the pain never leaves, you just learn how to cope with it, i still miss him everyday. They are a fantasic breed, loyal, friendly, sweet, funny and loving to the very core.
@iHaveNoIMagination09 Thank you for watching and commenting. You know how it is... I think about Boo every day. In fact, he was the first thing I thought about as I woke up and was getting out of bed this morning. You are right..."the pain never leaves". I was so scared when I originally took Boo in because of the reputation of chows. He could be very fierce sounding to others when he'd bark or growl---but he was protecting me. Amazing.
@iHaveNoIMagination09 "They are a fantasic breed, loyal, friendly, sweet, funny and loving to the very core"---I completely agree. I was afraid of him at first, but soon found his personality, intelligence, and devotion won my heart. He was the most unique dog I have ever known. "And also I believe Boo will always be looking over you, take care."---yours is watching over and waiting for you as well. CHEERS!
@nancymtb I can't believe you spent the time to watch my Boo tribute. Thank you. He was the most amazing, wonderful, intuitive, loyal and sweet dog I've ever known. I loved him so much. He meant everything to me in a way no other animal or person ever has. That's wrong, I know, but that's how extra special he was. Thanks for watching.
@boinnng Nothing wrong with loving our pets. They're almost like an innocent child, that never ages till right at the end. By innocent I mean they don't lie, cheat or intentionally hurt us. No backstabbing, stealing, betrayal or any one of a list of things so called friends & family will do. Loyal? I don't need to explain the meaning to someone who understands as well as you do. Your video is a reminder of that & so much more. It's been a year now for you. Blessings to you Sir...Boo~RIP
@FluffyPinkStuffy I know what you mean about tearing up. It's been 7 1/2 months and I still can't watch it with out crying my eyes out. I can't stop missing him. Thanks for the kind note.
I couldn't watch this for long as we lost our chow mix, Arrow during the summer of 2009. We had him since 1995 (I was still in middle school) and he was our protector, friend, and family member. What really hurts is having to walk past his bed and not see him there and to come home and while pulling up in the driveway, not seeing him in the window wagging his curly tail. Trust me, I know what you went through. Thanks for posting this and you have my utmost sympathy.
I know what you mean about coming home---and him not being there...or walking past places he used to hang out in. I'm forever flashing on Boo when I go by places we used to go on our walks or just around the yard. It seems like he should be just down the hallway or sitting near the couch...and he's NOT. The emptiness he used to fill is just awful. I feel your loss.
Having Just Lost my Chow of 15+ years that we rescued when he was just over 1 year old . My Chewy , ( Chewbacca was his Sir name ) , was more a part of our family than most people could think possible .
Although others may feel different , Chow's are a special breed , in both their devotion and love they return to their families .
I could only watch a few seconds of your video , as it hurts to much just now .
As the Vet told us though yesterday , remember the good times .
I am so very, VERY sorry to hear about Chewy. I know what you are going through and feel your pain. Chows are indeed unique and special. I have never known another dog as loving, sweet and sensative as Boo. He knew when I was sad or not feeling well...and he was always there for me. It's been 3 1/2 months since I lost Boo. The pain has subsided but the emptiness and loss endure. You have my complete and utter sympathy...
Thank you for sharing Boo's life with your video tribute. It is very beautiful and very moving. Boo was so blessed to have such wonderful owners and in every snapshot it was apparent Boo was grateful. I especially loved the beach clips with Boo's wagging tail and wet paw prints in the sand. Awesome! I'm now inspired to plan a vacation with my Golden for spring break. Best wishes.
Thank you for your kind words. I tried to give Boo the best life possible -- but I miss him terribly now that he is gone. Yes, take your dog to the beach or anywhere you think he'll have a good time. Thanks for watching.
Perhaps you are right. But at the time I made it, the music seemed appropriate. I can't watch the video either without sobbing uncontrolably afterwards. I miss Boo so very much.
@swrnc Respectfully I'm sorry but I can't agree with you. Sometimes we need to remember there are many sides to any story or situation. Your 'feelings' aren't what this videos about. This Man lost a best friend. Might not be a human'being', but a being no less. If devoting a memorial to my dogs passing, I couldn't be 'up-beat' I'd be disrespecting his memory. I mean you no offense, only asking that you consider how the man deals with HIS loss. The world isn't about 'us'. Truly Wishing U Peace
With tears in my eyes Shawn, as i love animals more that people, BOO (the Lion) well he looks like a Lion to me, Had you hooked around his paw, He had a great life i can see that, i bet he even got to sleep on your bed. i think you can see at the end BOO was over it all, That is always a hard Day buddy. My best wishes to you and your family.
Wow, your video touched me so much!!! It made me remember my dog Brandy, who I had to put down 5 years ago when she was 16. I STILL have not gotten over her till this day. I see the love that you had for Boo; it's so obvious in this incredible video you made in his honor! This video made me cry for 10 min; what an AMAZING tribute! I am sure Boo is playing with my Brandy in heaven now! Peace! Peter
Shawn - I am so sorry for your loss. You loved each other and you gave him such a good life. He looked so happy and sweet - I know how devastated you are and the solace is how much loved you both shared. Love, Janet
Good-bye Boo. You had a very good and long life. You had one of the most devoted parents any dog could ever wish for. You were the heart & soul of your daddy. I'm sure you're having a ball chasing lots of cats in heaven right now. You'll be missed by everyone. You'll live on forever in our hearts.
i am so sorry to hear that Boo passed away, you were very good to him and he knew that, he loved you with all his heart, he was so precious, RIP BOO, WE LOVE YOU

Love, Janet

What is tough with a dog is that, really, when you take stock of the things you really care about in life the list isn't all that long, is it? The dog is part of that short list.
It's a tough part of dog ownership.

@635150 Boo was at the TOP of the list. I know what you are saying. I cared more about Boo that just about anyone in my life...

They are a fantasic breed, loyal, friendly, sweet, funny and loving to the very core.
iHaveNoIMagination09 1 year ago

TexasCrotalus 1 year ago

Hey Pete,
Perhaps you are right. But at the time I made it, the music seemed appropriate. I can't watch the video either without sobbing uncontrolably afterwards. I miss Boo so very much.
boinnng 2 years ago
@swrnc Respectfully I'm sorry but I can't agree with you. Sometimes we need to remember there are many sides to any story or situation. Your 'feelings' aren't what this videos about. This Man lost a best friend. Might not be a human'being', but a being no less. If devoting a memorial to my dogs passing, I couldn't be 'up-beat' I'd be disrespecting his memory. I mean you no offense, only asking that you consider how the man deals with HIS loss. The world isn't about 'us'. Truly Wishing U Peace

Peace! Peter
