  • Pro tip: don't drive a Toyota

  • propoganda

  • The cars computer log showed the guy kept lightly tapping the brake. Guy was a gold digger, should go to jail for this.

  • exactly, bump the car into neutral, you can do it at any speed.

  • its called out the car in neutral!

  • lol puts a new spin on Toyoto: Moving Forward

  • good thing the car isn't fast.

  • thats why you buy FORD!

  • Why didn't he switched to neutral before applying the brakes?

He could even switch to neutral and back to slowdown/accelerate and exit highway.

  • This is why old people shouldn't be allowed to drive.

  • PLeaaaseeeeeeee

    .

What a Dumb story , They want to pass the fake impression , Toyota prius has a bugatti veyron engine with 1001hp , which you can press the brakes as much as you can and the car reaches the top speed like it has no resistance what so ever .

    .

Does he know how to change gears in a car ?

  • He doesn't even know how to drive end of story

  • "Laying" on the brakes? Nah- I was Standing on the brakes

  • What a fucking liar. He better go to the dealership and kiss their ass and apologize for being such a damn idiot when driving. Toyota got a lot of shit for this and wasn't deserved. They even had engineers from NASA test the cars and FOUND NOTHING. Floor mats can get stuck in every car. How stupid are people.

  • @flexor212000 Well Toyota themselves have acknowledged there was a problem so, look how stupid your comment is now.

  • @OoshkaHusky They didn't acknowledge there was a mechanical failure with the gas pedal you idiot. They acknowledged the floor mat could get stuck. But there again that can happen in any car.

  • @OoshkaHusky oh and by the way. I don't like Toyota's and don't have one either.

  • Is this guy in jail now, getting his ass buggered?

  • poor real estate broker trying to get extra cash. pondscum.

  • THAT IDIOT SHOULD BE ARRESTED FOR RECKLESS DRIVING AND RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT for being too stupid to put the car in neutral or turn it off

  • Voice Crack 'I Will Not Drive A PRIus Again'

  • bullshit with him. when you listen to his conversation with the police when the lady tells him to put in neutral he does not replay to that question. he is just did this to get money and attention

  • @TheUndeadHackers yep. "Can you take the car out of gear?" guy: "err uhhh i can't hold the goddamn phone... urgg I uhhh." Yea whatever man.

  • por que no sacan noticias negativas de los ford,,,, seguro que no lo hacen por que necesitarian un programa especial para ello,,,

  • press 0:00 to skip AD.

  • " I love Toyota" the grand pa´ says... all the AMERICAN cars, like Linconl, Ford, GMC, Buik, Chevrolet, etc, doesn't have this problems... Honda go at the same way with acelerations problems and fatalityes in all the country. Lets get back the American pride and only use the Amercan cars!!

  • its accually his fault for driving a prius

  • This is clearly a hoax! The guy was on the phone with the 911 operator and when she asked him if he had tried to place the vehicle in neutral, he said "I'm trying to control the vehicle ma'am." Which is clear to me that he never placed the vehicle in neutral. He was holding the brake down with one foot and the gas pedal down with the other foot. When investigators questioned him, he lawyered up. Yet the media never addressed this clear case of fraud publicly.

  • i've gone 94 mph on the highway. of course I was jacking off at the time.

  • why didnt he just put the car in neutral

  • I like how the woman tried her best to get him to say that it was the pedal. anybody else catch that? Your gas pedal is stuck, Right? Right? please, give the 3 billion to GM, and I bet this goes away. Every time I get in my wifes Rav4 to drive it, I have to pull the floor mat back. It got stuck under the pedal one day because I was in a hurry, and guess what>>>>>yep, the pedal got stuck. what happened to throwing a car in neutral if needed? blowing an engine is cheaper than a wreck!!!

  • I think this man is old enough to put the car into neutral. if he doesnt know how then he needs to take some driving class again.

  • Why you should buy domestic...

  • @shashoni109 why? thats right, cant get them to go. do your homework. plenty of videos on youtube showing bad vehicles made by others. also, ford has had a big recall on the windstar. axle and steering problems. corrosion as well. google it if you don't believe me. one ford recall on one vehicle was over 500 thousand. didnt hear THAT on the media did we? over 14 million dodge seat belt issues.....not on the media. If Toyota paid the big 3 the 3 billion in fines, this would all go away. screw GM

  • @135yota You're just wasting your time talkin to me. I'm not even listening.

  • Yeah sure it was stuck. Stuck by your foot holding it down. So you could have a reason to sue a large company.

  • LMAO at 0:33 - 0:38. "Driving along a winding stretch of interstate 8 near San Diego when his gas pedal stuck, ROCKETING his car forward". LoL, It's a Prius for cryin' out loud....

  • Very..fabrication.

  • that happened to me twice.

  • @ginaven1 Then ditch the FAGyotas...

  • I WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO CHECK TIHS VIDEO OUT OF MINE. IT'S MESSAGE TO THE WORLD AND I NEED HELP GETTING IT OUT THERE. AND I WANT TO STARTED WITH GOOD PEOPLE LIKE YOURSELF. THANK YOU AND ENJOY. THEN I WOULD LIKE YOU TO GO CHECK OUT THE REST OF MY VIDEO AS I WILL FOR YOU.

  • i like how they are concerned about costing 3 million dollars what about the cost of 52 lives get real

  • Why does this idiot get on the news ffs? Im sorry, you were pulling on the gas pedal? I dont think the gene pool will miss your input good sir.

  • watch?v=UJRrnwTAQ7I

    must watch

  • fuck you cbs and fuck your god damn cunting adverts !!!

  • @TheFanta913 Just get adblock plus. It's an add-on for firefox.. I haven't watched an ad in months

  • He doesn't know how to drive. Just take away his license for life, problem solved!

  • @mattg889 Oh, and but an American made car, another problem solved!

  • the guy was 61 years old lots of older people dont know how to use todays technology my grandmother cant even answer her cellphone with out answering up side down

  • priuses dont "rocket forward" they go 0-60 in 13 seconds. and have a top speed of 99mph..... lame

  • the guy is a fruad AND anyone who believes it is an idiot. Even if a brake pedal was tuck you just put it in neutral or turn it off. Take the bus clueless drivers.

  • Ordinarily, I would say that when you're panicking, its hard sometimes to remember what to do. But really, 90? Come the fuck on.

  • This guy is a fucking idiot. Stupid ass doesn't know how to fucking break or turn the car off

  • @ShUtInPuTiN he was asian

  • thats what he gets for driving a Prius

  • at least he was smart enough to shift to Neutral and shut off the engine.

  • @dave1sfx yeah after the little bitch called the cops crying like a pussy and had to have a cop come and tell him what to do

  • he was holding the phone???

    doesnt the prius have bluetooth?

besides i heard a few hours before it happened he went into the dealer ship insisting that he got a recall letter but they checked the VIN # and told him his car has no problems and is not on the list

and someone at the dealer said he seemed frustrated as he left... hmmmm interesting what are the chances

  • this guy just got paid by ford or GM to act

  • What do you want to bet this guy a real estate agent in a failing housing market is trying to get out of his car loan? The government investigation just released found NO FAULTS in the electronics. Audi went thru the same shit in the 80's

BTW I am no Toyota fan.. for lots of reasons.. but they are REAL reasons.. not made up ones.

  • Poor old man, thinks the Prius was the ONLY car from Toyota that had the sticky pedal.

  • Auto SUCKS.

  • Prius has an engine braking feature or ummmm PUT IT IN NEUTRAL????? Shame on you CBS and this guy deserves nothing but a KIA to drive

  • The guy is scared cause he's a lying sack of chicken nuggets. The operator asked him to take it out of gear and he gave her some ridiculous reason why he wouldn't do that. Then he was ELUSIVE. He had taken the Prius in to the dealer for OTHER problems. I think this was his feeble attempt to try and get a new car out of the deal. In other words...STAGED. The floor mat was the ONLY problem and that was a quick fix. Prius is a lovely, safe car.

  • braking even :\

  • Just in case anyone isn't clued in, this guy was later proven to be a scammer/hoaxer. He was $700k in debt and trying to ride on the anti-Toyota hype for a big settlement. Investigators didn't find anything wrong with his car or any proof of "hard breaking."

  • WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE DONE WAS GET OUT OF THE CAR GIVE HIMSELF FOUR FLAT TIRES,GET BACK INTO THE CAR WAIT FOR IT TO SLOWDOWN,AND HIT A DRIVETHRU.

  • Why would you want to drive a four wheeled pussy.

  • @voyager73 no no its a Duracell with wheels. the chicago autoshow was filled with them this year lol

  • CBS? Some of the younger folks don't remember their wrongful bashing of Audi

in the late 80's (60min), but i do. There is no proof mainly because it's practically

impossible. The only thing that has been proven over and over is human error.

Let's talk about that Audi 5000 you had manipulated to falsely claim as proof. Stop exploiting the fears of ignorant people, Toyota makes very good cars and dont deserve so much hate. Sounds more like overzealous patriots hating on the foreign. GM advert ?

  • people should not have to worry about this when driving their cars! what's the auto industry coming to?

  • This guys a fucking idiot.

  • @XxESKIMOxX Disable the engine. Press and hold the power button. Turn the key. Anything to remove power from the wheels of the vehicle. If you stop the engine, sure you will lose power brake and steering assist, but steering and braking are still possible. I've got to say, this is all basic stuff I learned in Driver's Ed, focusing on the practical side of driving.

  • I didn't know it was possible to rocket forward in a prius

  • "Is there a way you can take the ar out of gear?"

"I can't hold the damn phone, I dont wanna go off the side"

Maybe she should have repeated the question a few times.

Take the damn car out of gear. Don't turn it off yet. Let the engine rev up, doesnt matter.

    Stop.

THEN turn the car off. If you turn the car off while you are going, you can lose power steering and power brakes making it harder to control.

    It's such a simple solution I can't believe the stories I hear

  • Lesson here.. If your not smarter than your borderline average 16 year old teenager, and you don't posses the knowledge stop your vehicle, ride the bus. Its that simple!

  • Hoax

  • Turn off the ignition and pull the fuse box. Drive Wire should never be used unless it is absolutely necessary.

For some reason, I have a feeling there is nothing wrong with the car. I think it's a PEBWAC problem. (Problem Exists Between Wheel And Chair)

  • Lol, in the time you could call 911 you could shut off your car or disengage you engine...either the prius is a horrible car where neither of these things are possible or this driver is a moron.

  • Hold the off button... you may lose POWER steering and POWER brakes, but they still work, as long as you don't lock the steering wheel (turn key to off.. some cars still have this.) Saying to try turning your wheel in the driveway with the car off is not the same as rolling and doing it.... way more friction to overcome while sitting still, you are grinding your tires against the pavement. Throw it in neutral...

    Darwin rulez.

  • I like how the government failed so bad at bad mouthing Toyota that they called in NASA to investigate. I guess when looking for invisible space monkeys, NASA is who you turn to.

  • lol "i luv toyota, im never drivin a prius"

  • 94mph? i do that shit all the time

  • Is this video a joke?

  • So far with the Prius, all the testing showed theat the gas pedal not the break was being floored. The feds also looked at cell phone records and the drivers in almost all cases were on their phones.

  • 0:54 - 1:10 Basically he managed to stop the car by pressing the brakes, and then turning the car off. He needed help from a cop to figure that out.

  • @aoeuuiaiui or you can pop it in neutral. but american are too retarded to think of that. you give them a gear box that does everything for you and its still too complicated. fucking retards

  • Uhm like the operator said... take it out of gear!! All this guy wants is a lawsuit

  • This is so fake. The woman tells him to take it out of gear, and he is "busy fumbling with the phone"....he "takes it out of gear" and "somehow" slows down to 50 mph with the emergency brake. ....I'm sorry, who did this story? The 911 call is totally out of line. Just take it out of gear and it will slow down to a complete stop. Eventually. What? Is this guy just so filthy rich that he doesn't know how to wipe his backside?

  • Any car with that good MPG would be a threat for US car makers...let us invent some stories and pay few ppl to talk trash about them because Mustang : 18MPG, Camaro : 20 but Prius :48MPG oh shit we are losing it.

  • toyota=gay

  • for crying out loud first try putting it in neutral and if that doesn't work simply turn the key and turn off the engine sure your engine will be fucked up but atleast YOU will be okay.

  • @Addict466 Turning off the Engine mean no power steering or power breaking go out into your car and try and turn the wheel with it off and pop it out of gear with the car off and push the breaks it pretty much impossible to do.

  • @Kerickryantv you don't need to steer or brake the point is to slow down in an uncontrollably accelerating vehicle.

  • @Addict466 Ya u do. he was on a winding round you dont get it thats fine your prob like 12 anyways

  • @Kerickryantv How did people survive before the advent of power steering and brakes then? I've driven several vehicles with "armstrong steering" and it is possible to steer, it just takes more effort. Steering is also easier when you are rolling. As for brakes, lock your knee and use your lower body to force the pedal to the floor. It works, I've had vehicles stall and refuse to re-start and require a stop. It CAN be done!

  • @ArcticWolf2010

ok ill just stick with my 50 thousand dollar car that does having steering

  • @Addict466 putting the car in neutral isnt going to do much, the car is still going to be rolling at 90 MPH, neither is turning it off cause you wont be able to steer, so really theres not much to do in that situation

  • @bryancoyle the brakes still work in neutral.....uh duh.

  • @GodKing804 depending on the type of car though, some cars when there off, nothing works, for safety reasons, so neutral ain't going to do shit

  • @bryancoyle The idea is to remove engine power to the wheels, shifting into neutral (unless you are going downhill) will cause you to slow down. I've never driven a prius, and never intend to, but from what I've seen the shifter seems to be electronic and you may not be able to shift into neutral at or above a certain RPM range to prevent over-rev. Shutting off the engine will NOT disable steering, it just becomes much harder because power assist goes away.

  • people that dont know what neutral is dont deserve a car, im 13 and i know much more than an average american would

  • @gamer7790 wth does knowing more then a prius driver have to do with americans? Europeans throw every stereotype in the book at us I swear

  • @ChaseSpeer i am european

  • @gamer7790 ... see right there I could say that europeans can't read but then I would be fueling the fire

  • put it in Neutral dummy

  • Jesus! 94 Miles Per Hour, Crap i think that's it's top speed lol

  • never mind

  • skip 2 0:01 to skip ad

  • umm so the 911 operator, the guy driving, and the officer ALL didn't know enough to put it into neutral?

  • Herp durp! Putz it in neutral! Stupid fake dumb fuck, he's making Toyota look bad because of his stupidity.

  • Next time shift it to neutral or try the off button earlier. This guy makes Americans look bad.

  • Toyota Prius: Save the environment, road kill a pedestrian!

  • LOL car insurance commercial before this

  • This is why you never buy a Toyota...

  • Heres an idea: Next time, PUT IT IN NEUTRAL

  • @cipher619 and turn the car off, lol. Stupid fuckin people man. No common sense. OMG my gas pedals stuck, o wait, ill take the time to call 911 and tell someone about it instead of using my head and throwing the car in neutral or shutting it off. lol.

  • @joe735 I cannot say Im surprised though, really. The average Prius driver isnt that intelligent. In fact, most of your typical "global warming" shits arent lol. I mean, Im down for recycling and shit to keep the planet clean, but theres no way in hell Im trading my truck in for some Japcrap that you cant do anything with. If anything, Id trade it for a diesel

    Diesel > Hybrid

  • @cipher619 I was thinking the same thing after i wrote that, lol. Hell, VW golf diesel gets like 50mph. Even the dispatcher, a woman, knew to take it out of gear, lol. Definitely shows the type of people that buy these cars.

  • @joe735 Haha Nice

  • @cipher619 Yeah, and people who buy trucks are geniuses, because there's such a huge necessity for a V8 with 4 wheel drive and a truck bed when you're driving to your local Walmart on a road with a 35mph speed limit, where the worst terrain you encounter are speed bumps. I mean, getting 15mpg compared to 50mpg just makes so much more sense! Hybrids (including diesel-hybrids) are the future...look at any car company's product line and you'll begin to realize that.

  • @QuantumStates If you live in the city maybe, and it seems like youve never really left the city. Keep in mind, the "future" is not always good. A hybrids only real benefit is fuel economy, and giving people the warm fuzzies over "saving the planet". Thats it. If you need a vehicle that can do any kind of towing, moving, or any other kind of ACTUAL work, you get a REAL vehicle, and not a "green" piece of crap.

  • @cipher619 Thank you, someone who shares my opinion!

  • @QuantumStates And what if your like me and want to have fun?, I don't think you can do a burn-out in a 98 Horsepower Prius. Sure my '70 Chevy Camaro Z/28 gets 9.5 Miles Per gallon but the point is ITS FUN TO DRIVE and the pedal won't get stuck unless my foot is on it (Which 75% of the time, It is :) ) And plus Prius's are slow as shit and have horrible interior quality

  • @1970CamaroZ The Prius is just like any other economy car...somewhat dull and boring to drive. But when I'm stuck in traffic on my way to work in the morning and back home in the evening, I frankly couldn't care less how "fun" my car is to drive...as long as I have my tunes playing and I get to my destination in relative comfort. In fact, if I was driving a 300HP Camaro and I was stuck in traffic with it, I'd be pretty pissed off knowing what I was missing out on. Practicality is the idea here.

  • @QuantumStates Yes, But My Camaro is practical. Sure its a 360 Horsepower Muscle Performance Car but it has the Luxurys of 1970, Such as Bucket Seats, a Manual Tranmission (Something The Prius Lacks) and a Vintage Radio. Plus my Car is Worth More than a Prius will ever be in 50 Years from now

  • @1970CamaroZ lol, "luxurys" of 1970? The camaro had no 'luxurys' for it's time, never mind for today. However the Prius also has bucket seats, and a actual stereo that can play music through more then a speaker on the top of the dash. It also has more 'gears' with it's cvt then your 4spd. And at BEST a 1970 will go for about $40,000, that's not a lot of money when compared to other muscle cars of that era. Not trying to knock you or your car (look at what I own), but lets be realistic here.

  • for the record everyone, this man is a liar. i'm from san diego where this event unfolded and the man admitted to authorities shortly thereafter that he fabricated the story for attention. disciplinary action is taking place. terrible actor, listen to his fake ass voice.

  • Comment removed

  • 52 less Prius drivers FTW

  • @2435ght LOL!

  • This is why every car needs a kill switch. No matter the problem was, be it stuck pedal or electrical issue, maybe there was a reason it wasn't turning off with the button, there should be an emergency kill switch.

  • @Wickedwonka1 no this is why every car needs a manual transmission and a cable linkage to the throttle. fucking drive by wire.

  • And the guy couldn't shut his engine off?

  • you know, i hear cars now and days have something called "Neutral"

  • Brand new cars have an innovative safety feature called "neutral"....whatever that means.

  • HATERS! lol Toyota Rocks!

  • @zetina2010 Are you kidding me? Haters? This is pure fact.

  • turn the key!!!

  • oh man more dumbass's that have no idea what there doing

  • This is one of the reasons why toyota said their cars where "Dependable" and "able to trust"

  • Don't people who drive priuses have nothing else to live for and would be glad to kill himself and others around him so that baby foxes and polar bears be saved and the oranghutan (yes that is how it is supposed to be spelt you ignorant westerners) would go on to conquer the land

  • All he had to do is put the car in neutral.

  • @jimmiepatrick how would he know?if he had that level of intelligence, he wouldn't have bought the prius

  • god ppl need to learn how deal with these things. There are a few ways to fix this problem this man just panic his ass off

  • They told him to use the emergency brake at 90 mph?

  • Comment removed

  • I know it's difficult to look at another person's situation when you are not a part of it but if he had time to call 911 then he had plenty of time to put the car in neutral. Even the cop he was talking to could have told him to do this much.

  • This guy's a genius! Next time I'm speeding and I see a cop car behind me, I'll make a frantic call to 911 and cry about not being able to stop!

  • @aoeuuiaiui ha!

  • @aoeuuiaiui LMAO

  • "press off button" what an idiot. If your car even has an off button you know nothing of cars or care to and should die in a firey crash.

  • Just get a manual. Depress the clutch and press the brakes.

  • put that plastic toy in fuckin neutral damn it

  • No seriously people, This guy is a 61 year old dumbass. My cars accelerator got stuck once, goin 40mph. I put that fucker in neutral, & pulled off the side of the road safe n sound & in park. I turned it off, restarted it, & rpm jumped to like 4k with no foot on pedal, No biggie, just had it towed to the shop.

  • The acceration problem was caused by a faulty american made accelerator pedal. I witnessed a news broadcast that mentioned the prius has an american made accelerator pedal that sticks. This same pedal is installed in GM models which were also being recalled for the same problem. It was determined that moisture causes the contact points in the pedal to stick. A faulty american made pedal was the problem. I haven't lost any faith in the quality of craftsmanship that goes into Toyotas.

  • @Phelt54 No GM cars have not had recalls for faulty pedals. You just keep on dreaming up excuses to protect Toyota. But here, IN THE REAL WORLD, we don't play that shit.

  • new cars sucks so bad

  • People are idiots. There are things like the brake pedal, the emergency brake, and the KEY *shakes head*

  • I bet that punk jap car drivers first car was a 1950s chevy. He should have known what quality he had.

  • My 1963 Impala doesn't need a computer to start, it doesn't rely on a computer to accelerate, it doesn't need a computer to run the engine. It doesn't need to have its wheels straight to start the car. It's simple and therefore won't cost me 10,000 for an engine rebuild and 5,000+ for a transmission rebuild. (unlike new jap and nazi cars). I have a Chevy 350 engine and transmission so parts are simple and cheap to come by and I don't have a 5,000 dollar battery. No stuck accelerator for me
