That's a good idea where you use the comb to keep the hair you're not working with in place. I've never thought of doing that and I always end up with that hair going in places that I don't want!

This is sooo much harder with curly hair :( I recently cut my hair for the first big cut in my life. it used to be down to my butt, now its just above my shoulders, the curls went nuts after loosing all the weight. it took forever to straighten when it was long, now it still takes 45 mins because of the stubbornness of the curls.

Just practice placing the bobby pin on the side of the roll in the direction that you rolled your hair. That keeps the roll from unraveling. :)

It just takes practice, but I've found that pushing the bobby pin as close to your scalp as possible helps, but the texture of your hair can also play a role. If you have silky hair bobby pins won't stay put as easily as they would in coarser hair. Another trick is to start by sticking the end of the bobby pin straight down onto your scalp before bending it back and pushing it forward, that way it starts to hold hair before you push it the rest of the way in. Hope that makes sense!
