Into the light was a truly great album the songs are like ballards- creating scenarios and telling stories....I had man on the line album too. I hated the one song that everyone bought for their Grandma... I bought his next album but sadly that song missing you was nearly as dreadful as l.i.r. I haven't listened to anything after that...

lady in red never helped his career in anyway in my opinion,in fact it totally spoils me putting this album on and letting it run from start to finish.i actually leave it off my homemade cds.i think most people only know him for that treacle song.i tell my friends how good this guy is and how brilliant this album is and none of them even give it a try because of lady in red.Idiots.

This is one of my 80's favs............. reminds me of the one true love in my life.... the one who got away because of my "fatal hesitation." Every time I hear it I get teary-eyed thinking of my Tom....... sorry I'm so sappy here. Everyone has in life the proverbial "one that got away" and that was my Tom in 1985... he was transferred to Ontario but I was left in the east...couldn't take my kiddies away from their daddy. I'm rambling but this is a lovely memory!!!!!!!!!! :)

"Fatal hesitation" 2 important kind of tragic words which I am sure almost everyone has ever gone through...the "fatal hesitation" of should I say it? should I do it? this "hesitation" will for sure decide the rest of your (sentimental) life, the right/wrong choose? anyway I think maybe above the 40's then you realize more about these kind of "fatal hesitations", but when you are 20/25 you face these hesitations which believe it or not, you may regret the rest of your life (or not...:-) )

Fuck! I was 21, we used to listen endlessly to this song. We were in Bulgaria, in a Varna by the sea...this incredibly beautiful city, with the sea and endless gardens make such a mortal combination with this song! I know he is from Ireland but Ireland is more severe as a land (though youth makes anyplace glow with magic...). It was resort town and when the season was over this song came to life...Fokket!
