  • Feliz por ela ser livre da kunaisho.

  • meu sonho e conheçer a imperatriz

  • in my opinion, i believe that this is the formal goodbye that they had given their daughter. but away from the camera, it was different and with great saddness that they let her go.

  • why did they wear european clothes? not japanese traditional clothes?

  • I have no idea this is the real reason for them not to wear traditional Japanese kimono, but I heard the empress (might be) in the era of Meiji period had realized that western clothes, unlike kimono, didnt restrict her bodily movements, and was quite impressed by them.

  • Believe or not, on those days, there were many western influence on the imperial court.

For example, they had to be fluent in French.

The empress was used to be willing to put on European clothes throughout her life, and even today, all ladies from the imperial family usually wear practical western dress like her.

The voice of the empress is so sweet and beatiful, it sounds maternal and lovely to her daughter.

  • Is this the Emperor's daughter or daughter-in-law?

  • Daughter.

  • Thank you very much. I thought it was her.

  • She expressed her gratitude and good-bye to her parents as she departs her family to marry a commoner. The parents gave the words of encouragement and good-bye.
