I tried it, and it turned out great! but I used blue sprakles from LA colors, and purple from LA colors, and an extra shimmer from sally hanson. except it didn't turn out as great as everyone else's on youtube.
@alakhankar it can be used with any kind of nail polish don´t worry,it is not like use konad or anything so you wotn spend a lot of money in this because you can usea any nail polishes
omg I just tried this and it turned out wonderfully. This tutorial helped me a lot!
I am an aspiring cosmetologist/nail artist and this video was a great help.
Also, for those who may be experiencing trouble, I think the main key in creating this design is to work very very quickly. Moving fast can prevent the polish from creating a film.
Also, when swirling the polish with the needle/stick, try to swirl as gently as possible to prevent it from traveling.
Stunning, just stunning. I am so impressed with your work. I've been trying for days to get a marbled look, but all I get is a mess. How do you get such an awesome bulls-eye design? Mine doesn't spread at all.
what kind of polish is best to use? Because the first time i did this w/ a fake nail it worked, then i tried it with diff. colors ans they just sank to the bottom. Any advice?
how do you do this ? can you please make a video where you talk us through it and give us advice cuz its hard to copy wat your doin if we dont know wat polish to use or is the water cold or warm or any helpful advice on how to do it and how quick do we have to go . so please make a video containing that info .......oh and by the way did it not tootally work out right in the begining at 1:00??? well i think youve made better !!!! anyway please make that video XXXXXXXXXXXX
Please use regular tap water at room temperature and the nail polish itself is important so experiment until you can find combinations that work together. Glitter polishes are tricky and the nail polishes must not be fast drying. For the natural nail please put Vaseline on your hands. Then wipe the nail clean with nail polish remover or alcohol. Then apply . The nail polish will attach to the finger as well so be ready with a cotton bud and nail polish remover to wipe it off. Google oceasia
oh and great tutorial btw! I'm doing nail art for my school's culture festival so I need more designs xD. just having trouble with the nail polish dotting part x]
i have tried to do this a couple time but i must be doing something wrong because my polish does not go to the sides of the glass like i see in the videos. what am i doing wrong?
yeah, i've tried cold, room temp, and warm water... and i keep getting the same result... i put the nail polish in, it doesnt spread out at ALL, and when i try to even marble it a little bit in the water even though it wont spread out, the whole thing sticks to my stick (looks like when shes cleaning out the extra polish in the water AFTER she put the nail in) im so lost :(
I usually use water at room temperature. In an attempt to retard the drying I work in an open space with no wind- so no fan on. Google search "oceasia" because I have a step-by-step on the site. Just look for "marbling" in the list of contents. Thanks
There was one colour I think which I added in this video which was a blue glitter and basically it looked clear in the video and just the faintest trace of glitter on the actual nail itself.
Dip your finger in the water and make sure you remove all the residue from the water before you pull your finger out. Also be ready to remove residue from around your finger, google "oceasia" and check my website for more details and info on marbling. It is normal nail polish and room temperature tap water.
Thanks for adding your tip. Also I use very cheap no frills nail polish. But that is not to say you can't use more expensive polish. It is just easier with the slow drying polish. Please google search "oceasia" and get some more details and photos on my marbling pages. Thanks
Hey there! I tried it out- however, the nail polish very quickly formed a very tight skin ontop of the water, almost like burning milk. Is this supposed to happen? It prevented the other nail polishes from expanding.
Yes, the nail polish will react that way. So you have to work quickly. Some nail polishes are more compatible than others. The secret is to find some that work well together. For more background and step by step info please google "oceasia" and click on the marbling link on the left hand side. Thanks.

how come when I drop the nail polish into the water with the other colors, it just stays in a dot?
sakura1007 2 years ago
same here.... :(
eloisehaunts 2 years ago
if you use cheap nail polish, a very thin one, it would work fine :) If it's to sticky, it isn't going to work!
HeheSkiten 2 years ago
Try making the water warm-ish. :)
RabidIceWeasel 2 years ago
does the water have to be a certain temp or is room temp fine?

this is a great idea! the way you show it makes it look so easy...even though im sure if i try it id end up with a mess.
could you show how to do this on your own nail? id like to try this on my real nail, even though they arent long i still think it would be fun.
thank you!

Should be better using warm water?

So how do u marble real nails? not the fake ones u put on with glue but acuall nails? Ive tried it but have had ahard time any tips?
devilsfarie666 3 years ago
a really good tip here:
the nail polish will dry quicker if the water is cold,
so if you use lukewarm or room temperature water,
you will have a longer amount of time for swirling and everything.
;)
awesome tutorial!
