@MrChosenster If you know the length of the audio you're importing you can just option-click to stretch the clip to the new tempo. For example, you've got a loop at 130 and a song at 120. Your loop is 4 bars long. You import it and it ends ahead of the song's 4 bars 'cause it's faster. Option-Click and drag the region over to the 4 bar end marker and it will now be stretched to the slower tempo of 120. Tough to describe in a youtube comment length but does that make sense?
@MrChosenster over in the related videos section there's a video called "week 35: edit your loops and stretch their tempo"....that video will help with what you're talking about =)
@BRANSENED:Dude,there are pro producers out there who love REASON/RECORD.To me you need to go buy some new loops for ya E-Jay and stop talking down to PRO'S who know the score. Bernard your vids Rock.
Great job as always James! We all appreciate it so much. Tell Propellerhead to buy you a Tempest drum machine as your reward.
Also, like everyone else, I hope we see you putting out more Reason/Record vids in the future, though I understand the schedule constraints you've probably had to work with in the last year.
Please Mr Bernard or the whoever pays Mr Bernard can you do another year of tutorials along the lines of the last few. People can always look back over the first year to catch up.....Why im here id just like to say about the so called "sound of Reason" which I dont hear, but if there is such a thing PH should embarce this as in years to come people will look back fondly like we do now with Tr 303s etc and say "love this old Reason.....It has its own sound".PLEASE DONT STOP THE WEEKLY TIPS JB
The reason you're able to pull up the sounds so fast in reason is because the sample quality is much lower than the high fidelity sound on a dedicated synth. Not only is the pure wave form of a higher caliber, there are much more samples on each note (damper and hammer effect on pianos, flange elevations from a trumpet that increase with velocity, etc). Subtle to the less discriminating ear but still easy to appreciate sonically.
@bransened What ARE you talking about? The sample quality of the sound in the sound are not low quality nor are our own refills (which have both 16 and 24 bit options and some are quite extensively hypersample/multisampled). You are making a lot of claims here with no substantial evidence of your claims.. have you done some sort of test where you can show the results that Reason has some issue with sample quality. Sorry.. but I have heard this claim before and it is always wrong.
@biomecaNICK Thank you. Somebody finally sees this. No need for Record if you got Rewire. Get a real sound out of Pro Tools. Don't hobby down your music with Reason.
@bransened Ableton, Cubase and Sonar produce equally sound quality. No reason to assume (no pun intended) that only Pro Tools will deliver you 'real sound'. I ReWire Reason into Ableton because I love Ableton's workflow much more than Reason's, but you can't beat the quick use of Reason's instruments, layering them for phat sounds without hogging up all your CPU power. Thor is an incredible synth, and really fun to use if you get the hang of it. Great video by the way!
@RecklessNL21 I meant using strictly Reason. Reason is great for synths but an quality track would need more than just synth sounds. I'm speaking more on the quality of the wav sample. Certain timbres can't be replicated on a synth as basic as reason. It's impossible.
@bransened Quality of the Wav sample? Please.. explain.. since Reason has absolutely no lack of quality on playing back .wav samples. As far as producing ONLY in Reason.. well.. that's why we made Record! So you can add audio tracks and have an SSL for mixing purposes.
great tip number 50
