It's impossible to overstate the impact and relevance of this song for me at the moment and I have two interpretations of it. The first is captured perfectly by this video, which crushingly distills the essence of the last 8 an a half years of my life with not exact, but considerable precision. Dan's direction and acting in particular made this video much more meaningful than it might have been if he were left simply portrayed as an uncaring villain (which you might feasibly lift from the song).

Adele of course was equally capable and everything was wholly natural and all too real. I also loved the time-lapse at the end, where it seemed the clouds and shadows were aggregating overhead and swirling below in a responsive dance to the vocals and music as time passes and every memory that went before is fragmented but simultaneously present in your mind at that precise instant, drawing to a crescendo, racing at an uncontrollable pace. Then abruptly it stops, but no conclusion.

My second way of looking at the song; it's about finding it hard to let go, especially not even knowing if it's right/rational to Vs. taking huge risks and severing all ties to do so, perhaps out of necessity or pure impulse or circumstance, or in the belief that it will lead to a greater understanding, realisation and even existence.

The two in the video may have experienced all that, maybe that's what it takes, and so only they can know the conclusion. Perfect video accompaniment Alex.

@EtoGmajor Yeah, I completely agree -- it's incredibly well done. However, I don't think the video game issue is necessarily the only conflict in the relationship -- I think that, more than anything, it's just that the spark that was once there is fading over time. The scenes from 1:47 to 1:55 show how the amount of interaction between them decreases. Personally, I think the twist in the relationship is shown perfectly well. :3 (haha, not that I'm an expert or any sort)
