I gotta admit I had not heard of the Ustad but when I heard this tune it blew my mind. Wah Ustad ji!!! All artists are great for keeping our culture alive despite fundamentalist onslaught.
Damn we have talent in India as well, but they all run after money, sing pathetic Bollywood songs, which are a "safe bet" and shortcut to fame. so they do not dare to experiment. And conversely Bollywood has enough clout and influence to captivate the attention of the majority, making people believe that what is being played is the best stuff!
Is it that music industry power is less hegemonic in Pakistan, which leads to such diverse and authentic pure at the same time experimental masterpieces?

How are "Kangna De," "Mori Bangari" and "Mundari" related? The lyrics and story (the rakish lover who steals a piece of jewelry) are awfully similar. Though I don't think this is the same language as Kangna De and Mori Bangari- what language is this? Is this poetic Urdu?
@Ceibhfhionn Language is Braj, a Northern Indian language precursor to Urdu/Hindi. Of course they talk about the same thing - the beloved (empty) protests for being teased by her lover.
BTW all of Urdu is poetic! It just happens that Braj compositions are often used for classical singing.

The Randition performed at 08:57 until 09:05, i have`t heard anything like that in my 35 years life time. If somebody knows anything like this please share the word. This part is a masterpeice which represents the wonders possibelly a human voicebox can generate. No doubt, sky is the limit but This pasrt was the best and an evidence that Ustad`s are Ustad`s. No Atif Aslam or Abhijet can even pass by the these boundries of this level of the art.
This is incredible. Can somebody enlighten me as to which octaves Ustad Saami is singing in - i.e. the range of his vocals. The absolute control and "sukoon" in his sur is from another world. Best performance of Coke Studio.
Ustad Naseer has reminded Aftab-e-Mausiqi ustad Fayaz Khan sahib Agra gharana He has the same quality in his voice and the way he bend and blend the tan in surs is amazing. This was the specialty of Khan sahib and ustad naseer has accomplished the same standard in singing thumri like bade Ghulam Ali khan. The beauty of classical music is this that it is not necessary to have tabla and sarangi but important to keep lay and sur. Compliments to Mr.&Mrs. Rohail for up bringing such talent

This is how Fusion genre is done. Not like superficially, the way coke studio does it superficially, credit for bad understanding of fusion goes to Rohail Hayatt.

Coke studio is a drug for me. Music of such sorts keeps me alive.. I am proud and lucky for being a human from the sub-continent, else would never understand the meaning of life.

Coke studio is doing a great job, this time u dig out a diamond, i been watching coke studio and i found that studio was covering the weakness of singers but this time he was covering the coke studio, after a long time i heard a voice that can touch heart and can change inside. ustad sh great

i belong to jammu and kashmir.....i love all kinds of music....but the classical music has a spiritual touch which makes it immortal......
when i hear this composition of coke studio...i feel amazing...i will compare the ustad with THE GREAT TANSEN.......
