i surprisingly beat this on my second try. i think sometimes its just luck on killing neochu early with death. same setup with above. i had beaten the game already, but i was behind crystarium-wise.
I used foritsol and aegisol beforehand as well to make things easier. Just remember to put in a Hope synergist paradigm or you will be stuck trying to kill all the little ones... in my case my vanille was doing like 1.5k per hit and the fight took 25 minutes XD
@heybevis01 master has his tactics and if using it he can defeat the monster it´s a tactic as good as any other. and by the way, master, you should reupload the video. it´s very corrupted :(

killed it with light(9k), fang(9k), hope(6k) on my 4th try with lucky stagger :) actually the first time there was no lucky stagger but the 3 tries after that had lucky stagger and the last one worked. my strategy was: COM(light), SEN(fang), MED(hope): raped him with light untill i staggered it (my accssories were kaiser knuckles, energy sash, speed sash), after he's dead i switched to RAV, RAV, RAV and raped the little ones(better to have 2 renew so you don't have to switch to medic role)..
Would of killed this guy my 2nd try but I got owned so bad by the little guy T-T. Then my 10th try I owned his ass and his little friends in 1min lol. woot 5* and egg!

i've never had a more aggravating battle before. could successfully cast death maybe 1-15 times only to be destroyed in seconds by the picochu. time for a stiff drink and i'll have another go at it.
Well, fuck this! Death works fine for me on the giant turtles (usually works 1 in every 3 tries) but this thing, I have been trying for about 2 hours and it hasn't landed once.
By mistake I selected a little annoying thing once and it was killed first try, but....... FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF /rant
yes you're able to go back later on (you'll definitely notice when), and no, the kill won't count if you die during the encounter. anyhow, I really appreciate your work MasterLL! these vids helped me out for sure.

Did it on my 6th or 7th try this way. Thanks for the strategy! The real hard part for me came afterwards though. Killing those small bastards is a chore, I switched constantly from Attrition (Rav/Sen/Med) to Combat Clinic (Med/Sen/Med). Took me quite a while but the Growth Egg was worth it.
the one in the faultwarrens i got to right after the three tonberry fight which forced me to summon hectonchier killed them in about 1:52 seconds, so i when i got up to the neochu i wtf cuz i forget no ethersol and then killed him in 50 seconds flat anywho lol no death btw, but great strat it makes things easy, death hates me </3 im un able to death an admantortoise
It only took me 15-20 mins to get it. Including after death worked once and I forgot to put in a paradigm where I attacked, healed and guarded together lol. I used shrouds though since I didn't have auto-haste.

Got the german version of FF and i have to admit that death works not as good as in the JP but it works... took me like 2 hours getting the 5 star, had a view problems with the adds^^

Also want to submit this, though i dont know if this helps at all, when my death spell worked, i equipped "**Belladonna Wand lv.1**" With Fortisol & Deceptisol. Belladonna wand has "Improved Debuffing" i just thought since Death spell is in the saboteur tree, that this would help. Cheers

I Can confirm on EU platforms that "Death" Spell does REALLY work. I think i got really lucky but i sure did get him down in 1min 36sec. Retry's about 5-6 times before 100% hit.
same setup in video. im abit more underpowered then him, i chucked on 2X 15% phy res Dmg to snow, piled on the maicg with vanille to about 1600. used those Shouds, And death worked on the 5th try. im so happy, thanks for the vid mate
I wasn't lucky at all going in without buffs (Died practically in one hit)
So I started using Fortisol and Agesol and voila I was able to cast Death about 8~ times per battle before I died to screech, lol.
However, I got lucky on my I believe 8~10th (try) battle and got Death to work at 3rd cast :)
I did it in the NA version of the game in about 8~ minutes I believe, similar stats to MasterLL when he did this video and exact same characters, but I'm about 51~ hours in.
Is it garunteed that you'll get a growth egg by doing this quest? Because I can't read Japanese but sometimes I see people getting different symbols when they complete this mission.

you have to go through the caves, through the tower, and halfway through Oerba Village to find the monument to start this mission. then you have to backtrack all the way to fight him :(
@badassmuddy: You got that right. I had an epic war with Juggernaut in Chapter 11. When I faced him later in Chapter 12, I beat him easily. It was more memorable the first time.

Apparently adding debuffs increases the chances of Death landing an a kill.
So does having 3 saboteurs. Don't take my word for it though.

masterll, where is the monument for mission 55? i cant seem to find it or maybe i just forgot where it is... its not on my map so i dont think i've stummbled upon it :s

you have to go through the caves, through the tower, and halfway through Oerba Village to find the monument to start this mission. then you have to backtrack all the way to fight him :(

actually if you did mission 27 it's a teleport monument also... so hopefully you did it!

For a bunch of little buggers they are pretty vicious and do a large amount of damage combined.

That was pretty intense:) This game looks so great. I am pretty good with the linear aspect, i don't mind to much, but gran pulse sure looks huge.

@badassmuddy: You got that right. I had an epic war with Juggernaut in Chapter 11. When I faced him later in Chapter 12, I beat him easily. It was more memorable the first time.
