i love REAL XRS.. i dont mind buying those if i get the chance the corolla XRS or Matrix XRS. 2zz are underrated motor! IVTEC kicks harder though then LIFT.. i dont know why toyota stopped makin Lift motors :(

The Corolla won because that XRS from 2007 had the 2ZZ-GE VVTL-I engine, that is quiet powerful, todays XRS are low hp Double VVT-I engines designed for fuel economy more than performance.

You are extremely short-sighted. VVT-i > VTEC, especially turbo'ed. Corolla XRS still beats every 4-banger, and even some 6-cylinders off the line, and even will meet or beat some cars off the top-end thanks to the valve lift.

We can all thank Yamaha engineers for that. Motorcycle racing heritage = high RPM know how. Yamaha hasn't been around this long for nothing.

that xrs is most likely an 05, im gonna go out on a limb and say he has a PPE race header, PPE mid pipe, either a magnaflow greddy or trd axle back, PPE intake, bored throttle body and a PowerFC or hydra.

i own an xrs. the civic is lighter, more horsepower and has lift engagment sooner. i callin bs on the nitrous as well. civic, you need to learn how to drive.

no car responds well with boltons. You cannot gain 30hp with bolt ons. FI is supposed to do that. In reality bolt ons actually make a car lose low end torque.

the 2zz responds amazingly to i/h/e. plus i have a couple friends that have that body style si and all 3 are jokes. one is stock, one has intake the other has i/h/e. all my xrs has is intake. people need to start watching out for corollas now. haha go yota

With the listed mods the Corolla makes about 190whp. With a 50 shot, I/E/Reflash the Civic should make upwards of 230whp and weighs maybe 100lbs more than the Corolla? Was there a hippo in the trunk of the SI?

Is it just me or was that crazy...? Now i personally do not lyk corollas but do lyk the celica's (gts of course) : )... And i own a 09 si. now looking at the power of both the cor has the si in torque stock for stock but si should still win. Now with the mods how is there that big of a diff if they both have i/h/e and ecu reflashes? Not to mention a 50 shot for the si lyk did i miss something seriously lol...

umm underestimated the coroll ight just take into consideration that motor is made by yamaha and is used to race in a lotus exige and a xrs can stay in a lift the whole time not just at a certain RPM like the Vtec motors
