If I wanted to tune my snare to sound partially close to that (nice batter attack with a slight resonance, and not being able to hear alot of the strainer), how would i do it? My snare has too much of the strainer sound, which makes the "chhhh" too loud. Sounds like a shaker. I want to hear more of the drum..

@beetrobot That my friend is the sound of an incredibly tight head. Tune in as tight as possible and adjust snares to medium/ high tension. It may sound better too if you get a nice dampening head like an evans ec2 snare head (I play with this and its great). Oh, also make sure that your bottom head is at about medium so it will not resonate as much - which gives the snares the "chh" sound you speak of
