The reality is that Mat Latos is incredibly insecure! He hides behind his arrogant facade to protect himself. Not that I'm making excuses for him. At spring training he threatened to stop signing if I tried to take a picture of him. I asked him why he doesn't like his picture being taken and he said, "I just don't like 'em." OK. Did anyone else notice that it seems like he has some sort of speech impediment? That would add to his insecurity.

I'm a very active autograph collector in A Ball, and when he played for Fort Wayne he wore the wrong number to fool us, and his card he has that tattoo on his hand. He refused all day, I never seen anyone refused period in all my years in A ball. the next day he was the same and i said its a nice day for a ball game while he finally agreed to sign, after he said no he had to go to thearpy, he came back saying lets get this over with, and his reply was "I don't care I'm not playing". wow
