very nice information, speaking from a person who is interested in anatomy and physiology, thank you, my friend wanted to know about this device just in case he loses his voice. Hope all is well with you.....peace
@MsPerroacuadros dont be so rude you fucking bitch my dad uses one of those dude people have to use them sometimes it happends and im verry sure u have an annoying voice too stfu and have respect u faggot i hope this happends to u ur rude and need to learn respect.
how old are you?? wow im scared i use my vocal chords alot and i dont want to mess them up. in heavy metal they scream i use my diaprahm to scream if i scream with my throat i can mess up my vocal chords and if i dont do it correctly i can lose my voice and oh god that would be so bad:(((((
I'm especially scared because I scream and death growl. I took singing lessons and it doesn't hurt at all when I screech, but there's always that risk of overdoing it.
i sing to and this stuff scares the fuck out of me i dont know if i strain my vocal cords but when i sing. But i sing from my stomach or something and my throat doesnt hurt when i sing. I sing mostly leona lewis amy lee's songs because thier simpler to me.
Several companies make an artificial larynx. The list price for a Servox larynx is about $799. You can find them cheaper. At the moment there are several for sale on ebay.
why do the vocal cords sound raw and scratchy sometimes without illness or strain but last i1 day or 2 after i smoke .. i smoke since i was 12 and now i am 16... i can't speak now very well with an indoor voice with out it sounding scratchy/raw.. it does not hurt but it just goes this way after i smoke or i just am this way for a week or 3 at a time the indoor voice is impossible with me... i go raw/scratchy sounding... what do u think this could be... i need your unprofessional opinion..:)
I am now also suffering such problem inside my throat. I am sure it is the vocal cord. I overloaded the cords by growling and singing so high notes... imitating the genius such as rob halford, bruce dickinson, michael kiske etc.. and now I am feeling pain in the throat....I don't smoke and drink alcohol...Can singing outside of one's range cause throat cancer? OR just damage the cords? I am a bit worried about that cancer, now. Could you please reply me?
Singing outside of your range does not cause cancer, as far as I know. (I'm not a doctor, but am familiar with the larynx and some of the problems that can occur.
I have been suffering from throat pain for almost 7 months because I sang so high everyday for two weeks. Like you i cant eat diary, drink alcohol, smoke etc. I was wondering what to do. Since you have the same problem please give me some advice. The doctor once told me that I have voice disorder. But if i have voice disorder then why does it hurt? I am really frustrated. I have visited 7 doctors including one in Dubai none could help.
there must be nodules on your vocal cords which make you not to be able to sing high anymore. This might be the result of singing out of your range. I have two nodules on my vocal cords which prohibit the vocal cords to touch each other. In my case, I don't suffer much pain in the throat but I feel some irritation inside.
Yes, I also feel desperate because I cannot sing high anymore :(
You are so brave and strong-minded - I admire you and people should learn from you. Is it your neck in the picture? If it is, you have a very beautiful neck.
Actually, Viki and I have corresponded. She didn't realize that I had no vocal cords and this is how I speak. She's really very nice, and seems very intelligent. (And she felt very bad when she later learned that I'm mute without the electronic larynx.)
I remember an episode of All in the Family when Edith had laryngitis. Archie told her to say "ah" so that he could have a look, and she wrote down "AH" on a notepad.
thank you very much for the information i am a singer and i am always worry about the voice i am very sorry for you but you are very strong to speak out i would be very sad if this happends to me thank you you are very brave
@mikle95 I'm a singer too and I'm extremely afraid of voice loss :( I admire that man so much, He is so strong. I wouldn't be able to live without my voice. Since I had a customer at work who spoke with a device, I'm even more thankful God gave me a voice.
what happened to my ear?

Use a proper voice, this video is ruined by the dramatic attempt at warning people. The sad thing is that most people will not listen to warnings.
When you change the audio for this video let me know and I will watch it. Until then it is rated ZERO.
