  • So I'm the only one who thinks she looks like Jada Pinkett? Anyway great song. The singer is too damn fine

  • OMG one of my Favorite Songs and Singer thanks for the upload :)

  • Wow...so sexy.

  • Still love this song

  • I was so proud and happy when she went to Number 1!!

  • Babyface ruled back in the days!! Face where are you now?? Only best of albums?? I miss Face and his music :(

  • @bandido250 Face didn't produce this album Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis in which this song was her biggest song!

  • Goddamn I forgot hot freakin' hot Karyn was....simply ravishing!!

  • What happened to music was brilliant up until 2009.

  • Jamesway

  • Guess what her job is now... she runs a home remodeling service through Home Depot, no kidding!

  • Great song and she is so stunning in this video!!

  • i remember this being a huge hit in the day!

  • one ot the best songs ever! go Karyn, Jam & Lewis!!!

  • @922jodeci Not saying Karyn isn't a good singer but Chante is da sh_t! Song bird says it all !

  • this video is the best a definite classic

  • I love Karyn White... she was my first crush. She is a beautiful chocolate woman!!!

  • My gudness!!!!!! Thoze cute curlz just drive my nutz, NUUUTTZZZ!!!!!!!!!

  • 3 people arent very romantic

  • i had this song in my head all day, i said 2 myself let me look it up on u tube an low and behold here it is yeah :D i use 2 have the cd back in da day! i remeber also this song was on a episode of 90210 thanxs 4 da post

  • man---1991 video vibrations on BET!!! love it love it

  • romantic is good. sometimes i'd settle for just tapping it.

  • I haven't heard this song in so long! I love this song; still!

  • i lov diz song

  • i fell so in love with this amazingly beautiful sexy lady cause of this song. a great voice

  • what 3 idiots dislike this?....real music

  • what 3 idiots disliked this?...

  • oh Karyn White, I loved you so...This tape got me through Colorado to the Mexican border...I love every song on this album...

  • This brings back memories! awesome!

  • You know, the artists back then had more class than most of these people today. Most of these new people use vocal effects to mask their bad singing but these people could actually sing and some also were talented muscians.

  • young singers with great voices just ain't as marketable as it use to be.@bryanferryfan

  • Turn da lights down low.

  • How the hell can this song be 20 years old??? I remember just how HUGE this song was!

  • she should have to be a model ...not a singer ..so nice

  • @Afanlynness: I think she won a few pageants before she started singing, though I could be wrong. I'm personally am glad that she went into singing so that I can her some good music.

  • i was seriously into karen white back in the 80's....

  • Cool jam it's to bad these days music is about pimps divas hos and sex in the air, dissing people and fixing their voices. This was music.

  • it is to bad that today's generation can't apprecate music like this.

when we where growing up we got lucky to be blessed with real music like this.

today's pop and r&b soul artist talk about fast love and sex it is no wonder relationships are screwed up these days.

  • she looks like a black version of the lead singer of the bangles. gorgeous~

  • I miss the 80s & 90s. Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Pebbles, Karyn White, Anita Baker, etc. Today's top female acts don't touch these ladies.

  • I remember when this song hit #1 on the pop chart in '91. Back then, it wasn't easy for R&B songs to get to the top of the pop charts. Hard to believe it's 20 years old!

  • This song and video brings back good memories. Love it!

  • She us beyond sexy..

  • just loved how she swung in that chair! sexy video!

  • THROWING IT BACK!!!!

  • I can't stop drooling.

  • thankyou so so much...i have always loved this video...now if i could only find karyn's walkin the dog video

  • Curious question...is she still married to Terry Lewis

  • @sdavis197 no

  • @sdavis197 No, they divorces several years ago. I think she remarried another guy from the flyte camp (but don't quote me)

  • Uhhh It's KARYN!.....

  • 110,000 views! Just awesome! Thanks to you and to youtube/Google for allowing this video to remain available to everyone!

  • @prophetbyronmotley Thanks for the upload! Just change the spelling of "Karen" to Karyn"...lol

  • @mikescorpio1108 I misspelled her name on purpose, hoping youtube does NOT delete this video or my account. Being honest, if ANYTHING, this post would help her and her record label sell MORE CD's and pocket MORE money. I don't know why they're so overprotective.

    Anyway, thanks and enjoy!

  • this was the jam

  • I still love this song and her!!!!!!!!!!

  • beautiful voice...BEAUTIFUL LADY!

  • Thank ya' much for this X

  • Great voice. She was quite talented. I was 12 when this was out and remember it vividly.

  • I can taste The Fall of 1991 (8th grade) when i hear this.......good times!

  • @Bucs211

It was 12th grade for me...GREAT times!

  • The two people who didn't like this video don't like to get romantic.

  • No, what happened is she got married to Terry Lewis: whom along with Jimmy Jam produced this song. I believe she chose to be a housewife. I think that they are divorced now however! Way better singer thatn Paula Abdul!

  • open the fridge up... it's time to make a sammich... let's make a sammich!

  • good music, and she is so pretty

  • This is a little Janet-esque

  • @Ginuwinejay EXACTLY! lol u noticed it! It's because Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis (Karyn White's ex) were the MAIN/ONLY producers for Janet (for a while). THEY R EXCELLENT!!

  • @Ginuwinejay I love Miss Jackson. Keep in mind when this came out this was not Janet's style. She was rocken the coats. Janet didn't do this look till around "love will never do without you." I don't know how old you are but we were all surprised when that video dropped because Janet Jackson was showing skin for the first time EVER. This one was all Karyn

  • @mtw5536 this came out in late '91. "Love will never do" came out in late '90... so, sorry, but Janet was already gettin' sexy before this came out...

  • the cheap shit diva wannabees out there should watch and learn...

  • @mleverich1991 The problem was she was TRUE R&B, Whitney and Paula was POP. And alot of Top 40 stations were REFUSING to play alot of these hits in the 80s and 90s. Today there are 10x as many Hip Hop/R&B stations as there were back then. I remember the Top 40 Station here in my city - they wouldnt play any songs by R&B or Rap artists until the song charter all the way in the Top 5 or Top 10 no matter how hot the song was, how much it was requested, etc......SHAME & A SCANDAL

  • @XTCSoundcrew i hate industry the really dont like talent unless they create some computer enhanced puppet...

  • @XTCSoundcrew Did you even know this was a #1 Pop hit and plus Karyn had 2 other top 10 pop hits so what are you talking about? And here's a TRUE FACT..........R&B IS POP!!!..........SAME THING RIGHT ALONG WITH JAZZ, COUNTRY, DANCE, ROCK, CLASSICAL, & HIP-HOP!!!

  • This song always makes me want to dance and fall in love :-)

  • I think this is my favorite song of hers. From the first "Baby-baby-BABY" to "Dance me-ROmance me" in the break... love it!

  • Great job. It uploaded and she is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo great.

  • WHO IN THE HELL IS THE BALD GUY WITH THE EARRING IN HIS EAR HE IS SO FINE.

  • The early 90s were so chic and stylish.

  • I remember hearing she quit the biz to raise her family. I believe she married Terry Lewis of the "Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis" fame who produced all of Janet Jackson's stuff. So she probably has plenty of money and wanted to just raise her family and chill.

  • @TrixieBelaire Yep she was married to Terry Lewis and they have a daughter together but she has since remarried and now owns her own interior design business in Sacremento.

  • classic 3x

although if some1 put a gun to my head to pick my fav it'd be "The Way I Feel About You" (esp. the video!)

    "Secret Rendevous" is sick too...

i just found out she sang "The Facts Of Love" - her live performance RULES!!! watch it! -->

  • @mephatboi @mephatboi "The Facts of love" was the first time I ever heard her and I NEVER forgot! Look for Johnny Gill's "Feels so Much Better". You'll hear Karyn singing the background vocals.

  • MrTre5670, last I heard she had done some studio work & is now out of the music biz.

  • love this song, a timeless gem

  • @b1977ben ME TOO

  • This song is awesome! Karen rocks!

  • @art4me0615 dam this so chilli, Janet, pebbles, cherrelle, chante Moore, Paula,

new edition, shanice, Jody, vanessa, Toni B, tevin, hi five, ABC, so for real.

  • Matthew Rolston!!!!

  • I was actually around during this time in high school when Janet Madonna and Karyn were putting videos out left and right. The aesthetic of this vid, like Miss U Much, Like Vogue had already become a pretty popular motif for female singer's vids, around 89. that whole Bustier plus choreography inspired by Bob Fosse thing lasted a couple years. People only associate this look with Madonna in retrospect, after she became the most famous woman in a world for a while. She didnt start this look tho

  • Can't believe people compare Madonna and Karyn White. It's like apples and oranges.... Madonna is from another stature and Karyn also. I think Madonna is the biggest Icon ever (except for Michael Jackson). Karyn never had that stature, but what she did was make great music, and this song is a very fine example of that. Love Karyn, Love Madonna....they make music for us and enterain(ed) us till now. Now stop these ugly comparisons......

  • She is soooo Gratious in person!! It was our pleasure Ms. White in Omaha Nebraska

  • one of the most played songs on my new jack swing playlist

  • I LOVE this song! The first time I heard it was on The Beverly Hills 90210 Halloween episode where Kelly Taylor(Jennie Garth) was almost date raped by a college guy. You die hard 90210 fans remember this.

  • smoking hot

  • My favorite Karyn White song! She was way under-rated. Always a fan ~ Lynn

  • i was 11 yrs old when i got this single from the mall, i jammed it over and over till the whole tape came out ha

  • I was always a huge Karyn White fan! Sorry she never came back out with new music!

  • Karyn White is, in my opinon, one of the most underrated R&B singers there are. She had hit after hit between 89 and 91 and then just completely faded from view. It's such a shame she was in the same time period as Paula Abdul and Whitney Houston, because if they weren't around she may still be famous today. This song was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 the day I was born (November 5, 1991) and since then I've heard a lot of her music and it's really good.

  • @mleverich1991

It was #1 when I was born too (Oct 30th, 91) hahah

But everything you say is so right. She's got a great voice, she was just overshadowed by the other artists at the time.

At least some people still remember her music! :)

  • @mleverich1991 Crazy! I was in the 8th grade when you were born! Yes, she had a lot of good music and remember this played on MTV and at the junior high school dances, lol! MEMORIES!

  • @mleverich1991 She married Terry Lewis from the Time. He took her off the market.

  • @gman20251 actually she divorced him and got remarried . Frack we missed that chance lol She married a music producer by the name of Bobby g .

  • Muchas Gracias ''PROPHETBYRONMOTLEY''

  • I've been lookin for this vid for a long time. Thanx.

  • @BenDaMan85 I was like 5-6 when I first heard this.

  • my favorite song of hers.....have not heard it in a while....so glad I found it!!!

  • Once again I gotta say: If she copying anyone it's Jody Watley. I think the fact that the video is directed by Rolston makes it look like many other videos he's done. He did 2 videos for Jody the year before. En Vogue's My Lovin' the year after, Salt'n'Pepa Whatta Man, TLC Creep, Mary J. Blige I'm Going Down. He did Janet's Everytime and Madonna's Power Of Goodbye in '98. Always sexy but classy (well almost... there's a mudfight in None Of Your Business). Muted colors and a filtered look.

  • Hmmmmm soooo fine. Used to be my favorite crush back in the day!!!! AND had a beautifull voice.

  • THANKS FOR SHARING!!

  • New Jill Swing at its best!

  • who cares who she sounds like .she is better than madonna or jackson. club music from the 90s. good times !!!

  • This used to be my husband's favorite song! R.I.P. Baby!!

  • @nickey33 Oh, sorry for you loss and God bless! I used to looooove this song to, and sing and act it out with my hairbrush as a teenager, lol...

  • @nickey33 Oh, sorry for you loss and God bless! I used to looooove this song too, and sing and act it out with my hairbrush as a teenager, lol...

  • love that bitch!

  • She was the first black woman I had a crush on.

  • @Ninja4785 Hey Ninja try a young Eartha Kitt you would want that woman to have your children!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • DAMN!...forgot all about this song...snapped my ass all the way back to '88!

  • i had hoped that karyn would have had a longer career. she is beautiful, talented and is responsible for getting anyone who looked up this song to re-live some memories, whether good or bad. so, any naysayers, pleasekeep your jibes to yourself, and let those of us who choose to reflect , do so without any negative diatribe. just enjoy the music... isn't that what music is for?

  • I listened to this song over and over back then .. thanks for the memories!

  • Karyn is spelled with a "Y". With that said, this song is so tight. I don't remember it from back in the day. I just remember "Superwoman". I stumbled upon this song a while back and it took me a while but I love it. Classic 90s. Karyn was a hottie. This song went to #1 on Billboard.

  • Ahhhh....such a wonderfull performer. So many of her songs are just, pure, classic goodness.

  • You could release this song again with the same video and it would still go to #1. Great music never ever gets old...

  • However other's may feel...I LOVE THIS SONG!! SHE IS AWESOMETASTIC!!! :)

  • this song is still hot. everything she did is still hot. u know ur the ish if you can do a show and tour off songs 10-20 years old.

  • BH 90210,....

  • Thanks finding this video, I totally forgot about this song and video from 1991. I'll post a wiki page of what she is doing now. I think she's hot.

  • speaking of Madonna, if hasn't been mentioned already, the lead male dancer is one of Madonna's dancers from Truth or Dare, Gabriel Trupin. He has since passed away but it was great to see in in this video.

  • Love this song! Karyn looks gorgeous.

  • I think Madonna is awesome..I don't care how old she is...she started it and she owns it...HOWEVER we are talking about Karyn White...I forgot about this song and its amazing

  • Just another great Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis smash

  • Thanks for posing, a stunning classy lady with a great voice and a great 90s style video - pity they don't make them like that anymore!

  • SOOOOOOOOO FINE & a sweet voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @warriorbbd WHAT IS KARYN WHITE UP TO NOW ANYONE KNOWS?

  • oh, i use to drive in my convertible in the hollywood hills blasting this song. jus makes me want to go fast!

  • So glad this video is finally back up!

  • Ohh this my shyt....old school 90's

  • Karyn....will you marry me?!

  • Jam and Lewis ROCK!!!!

  • What an insult to Karen White along with the song-writing and production skills of Jam and Lewis.

Madonna is a great artist but hardly EVER original regardless what people think. Modonna is very good at taking emerging underground trends and bringing them to the masses eg consider the New York "House" scene where the whole Vogue thing came from. Another one she does well is the Blonde Bombshell thing - something thats been done over and over since the early 1920s.

  • I love this song but I really don't understand how it went to #1 on the Hot 100. Anyway, this song is classic 90s...the decade we'll never see again. Now all we'll have is the black women wanting to Beyonce/Lady Gaga pop.

  • great song and video I remember this one. But why are people going back and forth about something so stupid both janet jackson and madonna are great artists and living legends. you think they care about people on youtube saying things about them? please give it a break and enjoy the video all this other talk is very jr high

  • @jay2luv totally agree. All of them are great in their own way. Just enjoy the video and shut up you guys!

  • Comment removed

  • @missbham205 Madonna was overrated when people cared, and she's DONE FOR now! From what I see, only Lady Gaga has REALLY been inspired by Madonna, whereas, Janet Jackson has inspired black AND white female performers! Brittany Spears is doing her best white Janet Jackson, Ciarra, and yes karyn White, not that following Janet is a bad thing! Karyn White and Janet Jackson used Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and LA Reid and Babyface.

  • @prophetbyronmotley

Madonna's done for? Take a look at Billboard's Hot Dance/Club Songs of 2009. Madonna occupies 4 positions - more than any other artist.

  • @prophetbyronmotley I agree. This is the stuff here! Thanks for posting it!

  • @missbham205 I always felt that Madonna was a highly overrated talent with other female singers like France Joli who came along earlier who had wayyyyyyyy more vocal skills than the "MATERIAL GIRL" Check out France Joli on "Gonna Get Over You"

  • What is it with people assuming every dancy R&B female is "influenced" or "inspired" by Janet Jackson? Please. Even though they worked with the same producers, there was nothing about Karyn that was Janet-esque. Nothing.

  • Bless you, prophetbyronmotley. This is awesome and oh so lovely.

  • Definitely one of my favorite LA & Babyface production rip-off songs. Now, before you get upset with me, this has been stated by Jam & Lewis as their "take on the LA Face sound". So I include this song in a list of my favorite LA & Face rip-offs with

"Another Like My Lover" -Jasmine Guy

"She Ain't Worth It" -Glenn Medeiros

    "I Will Survive" -Sa Fire

  • OMG!! I did nt think anyone would have this on youtube. I took a chance. Thank you for posting this!!!!!! I would not even compare this to Madge.

  • Great song when I was overseas! Car tunes with my mom goin' home.

  • Angie V.,this song is for you,i had a great time at the Pride Center with you back in the 90s.Too bad it ended.i hope you're doing good in life.G

  • Great classic!

  • I was little when this came out gee i feel old now!

  • I heard mp3iiiiify is the best site to download songs like this. Google mp3iiiiify.

  • Very classy & sexy. This video proves that you can have your clothes on & still be wonderful and get the job done with your singing. Thank God for my old school talent.

  • @myhappyness1 Agreed 100%! Karyn White was/is a GORGEOUS woman and was lauded as such all while holding onto the "old school definition of a lady." She did not need to be half naked to convince society of her beauty OR talent. There are some singers nowadays who need a persona and they allow their image and actions to keep them in the spotlight as opposed to their talent.

  • Karyn White come back! I need to upload my Karyn White vids! i have about four. idk how.

  • @KrissyCo1 please do.!!!! which ones do you have??

  • @Obonososkimoki Secret Rendevouz, Romantic, The Way I Feel About You, I'd Rather be Alone, and Walking the Dog. I have plenty of different old-school vids along with interviews of different artists, but I don't know how to upload on youtube. I gotta get all of those tapes from my attic.

  • 12th grade listing to her music before school

  • i also have the cassette. great song to this day! long live the 70's/80's!

  • listen to the production jam and lewis

  • Karyn was LOVELY in this video..wow!! her biggest hit today reaching #1 on the Hot 100 billboard chart in 1991...Love this song..

  • @landobnice Damn! what ever happen to all the romantic singers like her and others?Yeah, I miss this song back in 1991 in the fall.

  • The #1 Billboard Pop song the week of

    November 2, 1991

  • @mrtelevision really?

haha this song was #1 when I was born
