I do not agree with verdict, but at least he was brought to trial. Maybe he and others (LEO) have learned something from this and scared a few from using excessive force.

sorry about the 4 letter word, but we have got to make distinctions between them; bad, corrupt cops and the people that apologize for them to no end, and us; people who would rather curse somebody out than run over them. There is a big, huge difference between them and us, and I will always try to point that out. We all choose to pay taxes simply by living in SC. Some states have no state sales or property tax. I know. I lived in one-Montana. If you don't want to pay go to one of the non-paying state or get a job that pays in cash. You do have a choice! Again, looks like good police work to me too!

I do not want MY taxes dollars spent in this manner. You do not have choice, every time you buy an item (grocery, clothing, gas etc.) you are charged taxes. You have no choice about this.

If you choose not to pay federal taxes, the federal government can seize your assets and put you in prison. There are also federal taxes on items you purchase.

I don't know where you live but in SC  there is no sales taxes on food items from grocery stores. Just recently passed that. I pay taxes every year but if I chose not to then I could move to a tax free state like Montana. If I really don't wish to pay taxes on items I purchase I can shop at thrift stores like Good will or go to yard sales and flea markets. There's no tax on used items.

I was listing items in general, not just in the state of South Carolina, where taxes are applied. You can not get away from taxes, in one form or another. You piqued my interests in Montana and other states concerning their taxes. Montana, according to their government web site, has property taxes. A tax web site stated: personal income taxes are from 1 to 6.9 percent (Montana).

All 50 states tax. All have a form of taxation. It does not matter how the state you live in gets it's tax dollars. Even if the state receives money from the federal government, the federal government got it's money from the people. If it is your state, the state government and its taxes, are suppose it work for the people. It is your tax dollars.

Those were good ways you posted to pay less taxes. The underground economy has existed for quite awhile and is a way to avoid paying some taxes. But I do not believe there is any way, while alive, not to pay any taxes. Debating about if you have a choice, to me, is moot, you can just pay less.

It would only be an option, to pay taxes, if you were given the choice by the state/federal government as to pay or not pay. Yes or no is a choice. Having to move from the home of your ancestors is not a choice, it is coercion, ("My way or the highway").

Because of that police abuse, some innocent citizens run from police. Of course, some also run because they committed a crime.

Running from the police does not give the police the right to use deadly force.

People run for a lot of different reasons (stupidity, fear, etc). If the law is a "felony" and the person has just killed someone or in the process of killing some one, then deadly force MAY be necessary. What if the person had stolen cigarettes, food, had a few joints on him/her or JUST stole a car and ran. Is the use of deadly force (struck with patrol vehicle) justified in your mind? That's were the difference is.

Police are allowed to use deadly force IF necessary, not when they feel like it. Also police must use escalation of force. It is illegal to use deadly force on a fleeing subject that is not posing a immediate threat of violence to officer or citizens.

Garren was recorded bragging that he tried to hit the guy. According to Sid Gaulden, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety, Garren was given a three-day suspension. Garren is appealing that ruling.

The use of a vehicle, as a weapon, is considered deadly force. Was deadly forced justified in this arrest? If you struck a police officer with your vehicle, with intent, you would be considered using deadly force and deadly force would be used against you.
