  • hey you have the piano i have at home, anyways good video and right now i am learning blues

  • I am a guitar player but after learning so many things about recording I have switched to the keyboard. Thank you so much for this video. I have tried to learn on my own but I am very thankful for your contributions.

  • wow, well done...

  • I love the idea and what you're saying but the sound is extremely off. Everything you're saying is covered in static. Hard to hear.

  • siiipp dah.........................

  • Thanks very much for this. Some wonderful boogie-woogie piano sheet music is available at manymidi.com/sheetmusic.htm.

  • played this piano in my school, the keys are so acoustic like well thats what i think, my piano (Yamaha YDP-101) dont like the keys but when ive learnt boogie woogie licks from you i dont give a damn about the keys, your riffs you make and pass on are so amazing man

  • ive the same piano as him

  • 3:34 love the 12 bar

used to have blues brothers on my GameBoy and I remember paused the game, just to listen to the 12 bar blues

  • nice

  • super practical help Thanks

  • Nice video man but listen: When you make an educational piano video, one of the main things you wanna make sure of is to place the camera in an angle from which you can see all the keys clearly (In an overhead shot preferably). Otherwise it is really hard for people to see what you're doing. And this kind of angle you're using is really awkward for people to see it, I can assure you.

  • HIS EXPLANATION DOESNT SUCK AT ALL. some people are just so lazy and retarded. perfectly good explanation. good lesson, good playing. BRAVO.

  • u dont need explanation, u need just to watch n copy, cuz most of the artists CANT EXPLAIN how they play it, just watch n learn its the easiest way, but i hate when i have BAD VIEW like this one n the other tutorials...

  • i thought he did a good job c:

  • you reaaaaally have to be more clear i mean i dont understand the half of the things that you say and it's a shame cause you are sooo great and you could teach us so good but you have to explain more and be more detailed.so please try to explain better

  • @MusicGuru12 I think we all appreciate all the help we can get!! No, your explanations don't suck but (with respect to Sarma's comments) I too would benefit from a slight slower tutorial. :-)

  • @MusicGuru12 Sorry I didn't quite think about how that was coming across, I meant to say it's a little rushed and I certainly didn't mean to insult. I could follow it. What your teaching is good and the riff itself is awesome. I was just caught up in try to encourage people to work a little harder to understand things. I don't feel it should be necessary to spell every little detail out, especially with so much stuff on youtube already explaining basic principals. I'm sorry if I offended.

  • Great job. Please make more of these basic lessons . I like how you explained it in all keys not many people take the time to do that !!

  • love your stuff.. is that a yamaha p-70? or p-85? I ask because I have a NP-30 and I am thinking of making my next keyboard a p-85

  • yoyo what notes are involved in the running bassine progression sorry i found it hard to follow the end of the vid! thanks !

  • thanks for these videos. One way to make them better is to play the riff you're going to teach right at the beginning of the vid so that people can see if it is to their taste.

  • it's definitely helpful, but a proper camera angle would make all the information exponentially more useful.

  • Boogie Woogie music IS MUSIC...

  • I like this video, but the sound isn't great. I'll check out your more recent one.

  • awsome

  • hey what yamaha is that?>>?????

  • @ofcaa12 Clavinova CLP-something.. lol i have the advanced one, its 320, so i suppose this is the 230.

  • @ivnalk26

It makes perfect sense if you know basic music theory.

The trick here is he is using the third and seventh in the upper hand to complete the general 7th chord (with a minor seventh) over both hands. What makes it sound so good is you are playing the most relatively dissonant two notes of the chord in the upper hand, E and Bb, basically a tri-tone, while the left hand stays on relatively standard harmonies. This tension creates that good "off" blues sound.

  • its a good tune but the video captioning and sound is a bit poor.......aside that i think its great....please also include more teaching approach.....thank you

  • please record again, with louder sound?

  • Louder clearer audio, please. Thank you Thankyou : -)

  • hey, do you have the music to this???

I'm finding it a bit hard to play from that vid, but it's a superb tune

  • Thank you--you've made areal difference in my playin'!

  • very detailed explanation...thx!

  • amazing

  • this is RE: Pianomother - there is always some crunt trying to muscle in to make money. Leave the boy alone. He'll be better of without you! In fact he's OK and fine NOW. Listen to his dissertations - smarten up. He's cool. Don't need you "Pianomother". You GO man, without that mutha. Fred

  • Great video! I've always wanted to learn some Boogie, and I will definitely try to use some things from this video! Thanks :)

  • very good feeling

virus in can`t find the chords

  • i've always wanted to take piano lessons. i play a few other instruments. what degree of difficulty does ne1 think learning to play the piano would be???

  • well it definetely takes some time, especially playing something different with each hand

  • outstanding video!

  • Thanks! =)

  • wish the volume was higher, mine's turned up all the way. makes me wish i knew how to play piano too!

  • just give an enormous turn on ur soundboxes to the right, then go to ur volumecontrol all to highest. then go to youtubeplayer, do the volume on its highest..

well if that isnt enough, you may consider to buy megasoundboxes, or u may visit the hospital...:p

  • kool piano

  • piano is beautiful

  • I HAVE THE SAME YAMAHA AS YOU

but my ones the cherry wood

  • is it good? I mean the keys' feeling, and sound.

  • They're very realistic those Yamaha. It's now 14 months I have the CLP 220 and everything's okay, I'm progressing very well with it.

  • Love the style, but man, I don't know wtf you're saying most of the time. What's all this stuff about C, minors, fifths etc? I just wanna hear you jam. You've got a whack style down.

  • hey man...love your style! please tell me what model number your keyboard is, i am in the market for a new one, and it seems real nice.

  • Hey. Thanks :)

The one I'm using in this video is a Yamaha YDP113. In my newer videos I use a Korg SP-250.

The Korg is a stage piano, so it is quite portable whereas the Yamaha is more of a home clavinova.

    Hope this helps!

    Ben
