Well puberty changes hair texture. Once she got older her hair began to straighten out.

Ex) My hair used to be shirley temple ringlets but once I hit 12, my hair became wavy and almost straight.

Her hair wasn't naturally that bushy to begin with, they would've had to back comb it to get it like that. I think they've gone a bit too far with the hair Hermione has now - although it is nice it was always described as bushy and dark brown in the book, not almost blonde and in ringlets.

There's a few scenes missing...like when she runs away from Harry and Ron, upset. And wasn't there more at the end...when they were playing Wizard's chess and such?? And also, out in the forest, with Hagrid? etc.?

Then again, in an average length movie given all the characters and all the shots of things like buildings etc. - they probably don't have that much time they can spend on just one person.
