Hi Mr SfLogicNinja...I can't find the file on your idisk anymore. I realize Logic 8 is a little old now, but do you still have the file? It would really help me out. Cheers
ProTools is pure piece of shit compared to Logic. I have to work with PT at my studio since people are too stupid and ignorant to realize that ProTools has nothing to do with professional sound. Neither is Logic. Musicians does, engineer does, mixing engineer, producer does, master engineer does....so DAWs are here just to capture the sound. And how the hell PT can be "industry standard" when I can't change k-commands and make my custom ??? Wtf? ProTools is garbage. Don't use it. You'll be sorry
Hi David, I really like your videos a lot, they are very helpful. I have always used both Logic Pro and Protools. Memorizing the quick keys always confuse me going back and forth between the two programs. I found your video for Pro tools shortcuts in Logic but the Link on your sever does not have the file shown in this video. Plz let me know.
hey Ninja , ... love ur logic tips, im a logic /protools user ... an HD with a 96 io ,i use it in the CoreAudio config ... would like to know other ways of useing the logic with the protools HD TDM hardware (DAE , Direct TDM).. I have been trying for ever to use logic with the protools TDM hardware but all attempts end up with logic dissabling its own plugs n synths .. is there any way to use the logic gear with the protools HD TDM DSP hardware .. a video would be great ,. . thanks
You will never be able to run Logic on an iBook way too weak haha iBook!??
Save up for an iMac.. they are much cheaper than the laptops and will have enough juice for you. If you are going to use logic I would never buy less than a newer iMac or a Macbook Pro. Anything else will be an utter waste of money.
Just the standard MacBook will run it with no problems what so ever..... trust me..... I do it everyday and so do the majority of people at my Uni. Just make sure you got 2gb ram and your sorted. Although best option if your wallet allows is to buy a MacPro.
I guess you intended to reply to my statement Mr. JoeyRec.... yes? If so then was I talking to you?..... NO....... Did I disagree with you?..... NO.... How about YOU read more carefully....Goodbye :)
i have a macbook and just upgraded the hardrive to 7200 and to 4gb ram runs just as well as a desktop. i go to school that uses logic and i did all my projects on it. it's fine, never choked once.
Thanks for the video. I just tried to access you iDisk, but it couldn't be found. Is there any chance you could check to see if it's still up? Thanks!
you should make a vedio showin how you do a whole mix down and eq,. like get a track wit know eq the recored all the steps to take to get it sounding good and clear
I've bin wanting to do my hair exactly the way you have yours in this video......but I'm too afraid of bieng harassed.....I live in a tough neighborhood !
@wwwJUELZinfo i love the way people show their thanks by insulting someone they pretend they rather of never visited a link about, have some respect whether he is gay, has funky hair or simply cool and kind enough to share stuff you NORMALLY PAY TOP BUCKS TO LEARN, so learn and shut up
I have a request for you... Here's the deal. I use both Pro Tools and Logic. As you might imagine, Pro Tools helps me with recording and editing while Logic helps me with MIDI, composing, scoring, etc.
My question is : How can I get to synchronize both DAWS, Logic 8 and Pro Tools 7.4 on my Mac to work together? I use a 003 rack as my sound card.
Do you think you could make a tutorial about this? If you can help me with this, that would be awesome! :)
This would allow Logic to control one interface, while PT uses the 003. You would then run the output of the Logic interface into the 003, or vice versa, depending on what you are recording audio into primarily. I am forced to use PT on occasion, so i have an Mbox running into my 828mk2. Sync is achieced via the IAC bus. you can turn it on in AMS. Once activated, it shows as a port in Logic and PT.
Alright, I am going to run logic with my other interface which is a FF800. Now, if I understand correctly, when I want to record audio in PT, I should then output the FF800 into the 003, right?
I activated the IAC bus by checking the online option. However, where am I supposed to see the port show up in Logic and PT? Thank you so much for your time.
Hi - I have managed to do all of the above but i am quite lost at how it syncs ? - If you are recording audio into PT via Logic using the IAC device then how can you tell logic to output its sync / where do you ask pt to see the sync.
Is the point of the IAC driver to route audio internally and sync or just route audio internally ?
PLEASE do a video on comping and audio recording in general - i cant deal with overlaps, and things i just record or punch in falling behind older recorded audio that i thought i was recording over - i want logic to behave like protools where when i record new audio - it completely covers up old audio
YOU mis-leading bastard title! I did not learn one thing about Pro Tools.. WASTED TIME..

@Vanjal I remember when I used Pro Tools for the first time. Use it more than once and it becomes very intuitive.

It's under midi beat clock in PT, and the syncronization midi settings under preferences in Logic.
Use the 003 input 3/4, because I think you can monitor it without having to create a track for it (hardware monitoring)

1. In the upper right hand side, you will see 'Drag'. Set that to 'No Overlap'
2. in the Transport, select the button that has an x in a tab. It is the mode that will replace the region content instead of overlaying it.
