@jesse4jezza yes it is about where u like the hi hat placed but playing on the edge of the hi hat can make it sound so much worse then the hi hat can actually sound.

Yeah, toms sound pretty ropey.

Don't get me wrong mate, I'm no drummer (I'm a guitarist) but our drummer has a lovely kit and I guess my ears have been spoilt over the years ;)

yes but not only in this song. I reffer to Tre`s style, that has some usefull things. Like backbeat crashes (like bonzo), and some interesting backbeat fills for playing punk.

Is not so difficult the flam tap, if you practice very slow and then speeding it up. Jazz drummers say: "less is more". The reason why there aren´t more cymbals is because they are following guitar`s rhythm.
