Krell is an extremely strong adversary, cmon, order 66 was something programmed into the Troopers, they might make choices and such, but this was a program. And order 66 was a trap, Krell knew the forthcomming of clone troopers... Krell is awesome, he's a Dark Jedi that knows his fighting style, and his force techniques.
If Captain Rex thought that clones were made to follow orders, but you should think for yourself what is good or bad, then why didn't they when Order ( REPEAT ORDER ) 66 was issued.
Krell turned to the Dark Side, but Dooku wouldnt take him as Sith apprentice, it was a lie. Maybe he would make Krell as a Dark Acolyte like Sora Bulq or Ventress. Would be a great plot later: Krell was a General, so he wants to overthrow Grievous, two have a lightsaber duel which Grevious win. But Krell was killed so no duel, eh.
@AutumnViewer And still they make incredible badass characters as Grievous to lose his arms every episode, one day massacre and other defeated by Gungans.
@haloclonofwar34 because in ep 3, the clones had the element of surprise on their side, while here, it seems that general krell knew they were coming for him.
@SelasSolaris I'm refering to the fact that for all their claimed loyalty, they still slaughtered all the jedi in the end. In fact, Cody didn't even feel the slightest remorse, he only remarked that they should have told him before he gave Kenobi his light saber
The ppl cheering for Krell's bitchass dont understand that he wanted to become sith that's y he was trying to sabotage the Republic's operations he's a douche and he if really was a warrior he would put himself in the line of fire
well, that trooper did what he had to do krell deserved it the trooper followed evryone of his orders but when krell said what he had to say the trooper realized that krell had no faith in him he had followed those orders for nothing. thats why he had shot krell in the end
Why did Krell have to die ?! Why so many people don't like him ?!
Yes, he's a traitor and he killed a lot of clones. So what ?!
He's a freaking warrior !!! He handles very well two double bladed lightsabers and that would have been a pleasure to see him again... vs Grievous for instance or vs Jedi... but that will never happen.
I'm not foolish but Krell was one of my favorite characters in season 4. What a shame he died so fast !
My kinda thinking. I'd have liked to see him escape and return in the future, for a Jedi to face him. I'd like to see little Yoda against this huge guy with 2 double-bladed sabers...
That'd have been pretty cool.... or 1 of the other Jedi Masters to really show off
@doriri11 why would people hate you for loving Krell, thats your own opinion,we all have our favorites.IMO his pretty cool but i like obi want more ^^,dont listen to the haters they are just some crazy fanboys
I think the clones actually used this when order 66 came out. It would make a lot of sense, since the clones realized that the jedi could be turned. When they received the order, they probably thought that this was just another but more organized revolt against the republic.
Okay. Now please do this with GENERAL GRIEVOUS! Krell proves that the Star Wars makers can create a badass character with 4 arms! Now do the same with our beloved General! Turn him back into the killing machine that we saw in the cartoon series!
@1234LegoGuy1234 I honestly do not believe that Rex and the current batch of Clone Troopers know of Order 66. I think that around the time Season 5 rolls around, the clones that will be made then will have Order 66 hardwired into them and will replace all the current clones. But that's just my theory. :-)
The fighting in the show is adequate, but he story and dialogue is written for seven-year-olds! They can sometimes use large words but overall the dialogue is severally lacking in this show (this episode had the best combat and dialogue, thus its my favorite.) @TheMeanConservative you're kidding, right? I found the fighting to be pretty exciting, and like a lot of episodes of Clone Wars, this one has integrated many old story elements, notably military novel elements, with the those of the star wars universe. Just because there's no gore, blood, and excessive swearing, doesn't make it something written just for 7 year olds -_-
Did anyone know that captain Rex disappeared right before revenge of the sith? He later comes back to help Luke skywalker like 3 years after return of the Jedi and joins the new republic military
@MortimusKhan117 - his thoughts/actions were not what one would expect a Jedi to execute, especially toward an army built to defend the Republic and aid the Jedi Order in time of war. He/it even boldly claims he wants to align himself with Darth Tyranus who is a Dark Jedi/Sith and willfully schemed to have his own Republic platoon betray one another. I don't know how evil you can get with that kind of thinking because clearly, a Jedi would not entertain the idea of seeking his own self interest
@MJfan391 That would have been great to see, but i dont think they can have Anakin be put against another jedi as the first time he faces jedi its to slaughter them from episode 3 and after:)
The good thing is, this proves Rex & 501st are willing to disobey orders, so PERHAPS they may disobey order 66. Either way, Order 66 will be really interesting in Star Wars the Clone Wars
This is actually a pretty cool scene, especially since it shows the ingenuity and strength in numbers of the clones. The same thing could actually be said about the fight between the Gungans and General Grievous despite what SOME people say.. >:(
@MortimusKhan117 He was handcuffed. Even if he managed to they would have shot him dead for sure anyway. Besides I like how Dogma killed him. Krell was evil, treated the clones like how the Nazis treated the Jewish.
@thefitzthewitz Being handcuffed has nothing to do with it. Since when are gesticulations prerequisite for Force use? If he slammed them into the walls with enough force to crush their bones, I don't think he'd be getting shot. And Krell wasn't evil. He accurately sensed the future and wanted to be a part of it.
And keep in mind that the clones you are defending are the ones who later slay the Jedi because they're "just following orders"... Now who are the metaphorical Nazis?
@MortimusKhan117 Not the clones. The Nazis were a political group who saw the Jewish as 'inferior beings'. Sound familiar? General Pong Krell was indeed evil. He wanted to rule alongside the Sith, and anyone familiar with Star Wars knows the Sith are evil.
As for the handcuffs, Krell obviously appeared to be subdued and a force push is not significant enough to kill the troopers as he already used it earlier to no avail.
@thefitzthewitz The Clones were soldiers who turned on the Jedi and the Republic, slaughtering countless lives because they were following orders. Sound familiar? And Sith is just a different perspective of the Force. The Sith themselves, as a species and as an alignment, are not evil. It is how members of the Sith manifest that perspective that makes most Sith evil. If anything, Krell was selfish, not evil.
And Force users can vary the strength of Force powers to suit needs...
@MortimusKhan117 The clones turned on the Jedi simply because Order 66 was given by the Chancellor saying that the Jedi have turned against the Republic and needed to be eliminated by force. They thought they were saving the Republic, little did they know they were infact destroying it. However unlike the Nazis, they had no hatred against the Jedi, quite the opposite. Many clones did not like the fact they had to kill their Jedi Generals, their friends, and some even didn't.....
@MortimusKhan117 I agree that the Knight of the Long Knives somewhat inspired the Jedi Purge, however Order 66 is not at all similar to the Holocaust.
Also you can't deny Krell's attitude towards the clones as being different from the attitude displayed by Hitler on the Jewish. Krell's attitude is quite evil. That IS what I'm arguing. Oh and the Sith are the main antagonists of Star Wars. Saying that what they practise isn't evil is quite laughable.
@thefitzthewitz By Lucas's own admission, the Stormtroopers -- and by extension, the Clones -- were even inspired by the Nazis in name and appearance. Also, the Great Jedi Purge of Order 66 was an allusion to both the Holocaust and the Night of the Long Knives. So if you think Krell is more like the Nazis than the Clones, you can continue your argument with George Lucas.
@MortimusKhan117 Oops, I worded a line on my second response to be a bit misleading. When I said Order 66 is not similar to the Holocaust I meant it purely from the clones perspective. Order 66 of course is the Star Wars genocide of the Jedi by Darth Sideous. He hated the Jedi -- natural for a Sith -- and used the clones engraved loyalty to the Republic to carry out his plan. Unlike Nazi SS soldiers, clones did not hate the Jedi nor conspired against them.
@thefitzthewitz It doesn't matter if you agree or not -- those are words right from Lucas, so that's how it is. And the clones didn't think anything. By executing Order 66 they proved themselves no better than droids, killing Jedi who even saved their lives and earned their respect like Aayla Secura. Only a couple clone teams -- Ion Team and Null Arc Team -- didn't follow the orders.
@thefitzthewitz I won't deny that Krell disliked the clones and treated them with contempt. But you can't restrict the comparison of his attitude to Hitler's attitude towards the Jews. Krell's attitude is similar to anyone else who believes a group inferior to themselves -- it is not exclusive to Hitler. And the mass killing of Jedi and their symbolism makes the Clones infinitely more like the Nazis than Krell's prejudice makes him exclusively like Hitler
@thefitzthewitz And Sith is just a different philosophy of the Force. It is the opposite perspective than the Jedi. The truth of the Force lies in neither the Jedi nor the Sith, but in a balance between them. The Star Wars movies are told from the Jedi's perspective. The Sith are not evil just because their viewpoint is opposite the protagonist's.
The only laughable thing is that your knowledge of Star Wars is restricted to the movies and this TV series
@MortimusKhan117 Hmm, so I guess every soldier could be considered a inferior droid-like being if seen from yours or Krell's eyes. Both the clone troopers and todays and yesterdays soldiers are required to make tough decisions, whether they like 'em or not. The main difference between the Nazi SS and the clones is that the clones did not hold hatred against the Jedi, whereas the Nazi SS reveled in their torturing and murdering of their 'enemies'; much the same for Krell.
@MortimusKhan117 Furthermore, one of the goals of this show is to better portray the humanity of the clone troopers. The prequels did a terrible job, giving them a few lines of dialogue, short battle scenes and of course their growth on Kamino. From the prequels, it is easy to see them as human droids who show no emotion or creativity. And now, after seeing the large fanbase of the clones in this show, the creators are doing a good job.
@MortimusKhan117 Also it's pretty ignorant to assume I know little to no info of the EU. I've an interest in the events after the Battle of Endor up to the era of the Yuuzhan Vong. I have also played Knights of the Old Republic, although I will admit that this era doesn't interest me too much. But I know more than enough to realize that the Sith are generally malicious in nature where instead the Jedi are for the good of the galaxy.
@thefitzthewitz Actually, no, I do not view today's soldiers as inferior. Not once did I ever say that. What I said was that to a Jedi a simple clone trooper is inferior. I'm not saying in a derogatory sense -- it's merely factual. And what is droid-like is that they simply followed their commands blindly during Order 66. This whole series is personifying the clones and showing how human they are. Even this episode shows how they are able to think and make their own decisions.
@thefitzthewitz But all that personification just makes their blind obedience to the Jedi Purge that much more terrible. When it came to that command, they didn't think about it. They just obeyed.
I agree that it is good to see the clones' humanity, but that makes their following Order 66 that much worse. That makes their following of Order 66 -- dare I say -- "evil", because this series and even this episode emphasizes their ability to choose. They still choose mass murder
@MortimusKhan117 I always figured they had been conditioned with the order buried in their subconscious and they had to follow it, but some of them could resist the impulse. I'm sure many of them thought that they were doing the right thing and that the jedi were trying to take over but some of them should have fought with the jedi in the purge it would have made more sense
@jtthundercat Definitely agree. As far as I know only couple clone teams -- Ion Team and Null Arc Team -- didn't follow Order 66. This Clone Wars show seems to be emphasizing the humanity of the clones and their ability to choose to do what is "right", whereas the droid-like obedience to Order 66 contrasts so heavily to that action that it makes the clones seem that much worse for following the order. The conditioning/some kind of genetic programming while growing would make sense
@thefitzthewitz And no, it is not ignorant to assume you have little info of the EU, because you clearly have no understanding of the Sith. You dismissed the Sith as "evil Hitlers" just because they oppose the Jedi. Just because someone holds a perspective opposite your own does not make them evil. The Jedi oppose the Sith just as much as the Sith oppose the Jedi. The Sith can be malicious, but because they fight for their beliefs. What is ignorant is to call that evil.
@thefitzthewitz But I'm done talking to the wall though. Go educate yourself and watch or read some of George Lucas' interviews, then come back and talk about the Sith, Jedi, and Clones with facts. Because right now your arguments are based solely on your emotions. So go educate yourself and if you still want to discuss this afterwards come on back. Otherwise have fun in whatever world of feelings you live in, and I'll continue to enjoy my facts
@MortimusKhan117 Oh look who's on his high horse. You know from my point of view you're the one who needs to further educate yourself. It's pure malarkey to say the Sith aren't evil. The Clone Wars itself was orchestrated by Darth Sidious to rid the galaxy of Jedi and secure his place as dictator of his new order. So if you would like to compose yourself in a better manner, I'll be here. However I'm done talking to someone so pompous.
@MortimusKhan117 as you could observe he knew rex wont do it so he taunted him and kept acting like a superior being,he didnt expect that dude to shoot him,he wanted to taunt rex a bit then act.Overconfidence got him.
Stevehagivretas. You're a fool! That murderous sleemo krell wasn't like the zillo beast at all! Krell wanted to join the sith, not try to kill them like the zillo beast did!
This is just like the zillo beast episode, the zillo beast senses that the chancellor is the evil one, trying to kill him, and krell is like this also he senses the coming of a new order too, but him also, like the zillo beast is killed off.
This part of the episode is very foreshadowing to Order 66, seeing how the clones have the numbers against the jedi and will eventually overwhelm them in the end...
@stevehagivretas On the other hand, the entire arc was basically about how clones can chose not to follow orders they consider stupid or wrong. Which sorta makes their later unflinching slaughter of their Jedi friends a bit jarring.
That's the one thing that bothers me with the clone-centric episodes - they come across as too human. They don't seem to have the kind of heavy indoctrination Order 66 suggests they have.
Did anybody know that right before revenge of the sith captain Rex disappears then returns to the new republic military to help luke skywalker? It's true!
They copied alot of the animated scenes grievous was in in the old cartoon and put them into this. I.E. fighting clones in a circular room with a window.
Surrounding survivors while hiding up high only to jump onto someone.
Every time the Clone Wars guys come up with an interesting villain, they always kill him off. I'm bored with Ventress, and Grievous is just pathetic. We should have gotten a few more episodes with THIS GUY.
This is the level of awesomeness that we should be seeing from Grievous; I swear Krell's level of badass is on par with that of Grievous from the original clone wars series.
@RandomFriends602 this scene reminded me of grievous slicing up clones, throwing them out windows, and crushing their skulls from the micro series!! those were the days, my friend.
wow, If general grievous had 4 duel bladed lightsabers, he would be close to indestructible!

They thought they were saving the Republic, little did they know they were infact destroying it. However unlike the Nazis, they had no hatred against the Jedi, quite the opposite. Many clones did not like the fact they had to kill their Jedi Generals, their friends, and some even didn't.....
thefitzthewitz 1 month ago
@MortimusKhan117 I agree that the Knight of the Long Knives somewhat inspired the Jedi Purge, however Order 66 is not at all similar to the Holocaust.
Also you can't deny Krell's attitude towards the clones as being different from the attitude displayed by Hitler on the Jewish. Krell's attitude is quite evil. That IS what I'm arguing. Oh and the Sith are the main antagonists of Star Wars. Saying that what they practise isn't evil is quite laughable.
thefitzthewitz 1 month ago
@thefitzthewitz By Lucas's own admission, the Stormtroopers -- and by extension, the Clones -- were even inspired by the Nazis in name and appearance. Also, the Great Jedi Purge of Order 66 was an allusion to both the Holocaust and the Night of the Long Knives. So if you think Krell is more like the Nazis than the Clones, you can continue your argument with George Lucas.
MortimusKhan117 2 months ago
@MortimusKhan117 Oops, I worded a line on my second response to be a bit misleading. When I said Order 66 is not similar to the Holocaust I meant it purely from the clones perspective. Order 66 of course is the Star Wars genocide of the Jedi by Darth Sideous. He hated the Jedi -- natural for a Sith -- and used the clones engraved loyalty to the Republic to carry out his plan. Unlike Nazi SS soldiers, clones did not hate the Jedi nor conspired against them.
thefitzthewitz 1 month ago
@thefitzthewitz It doesn't matter if you agree or not -- those are words right from Lucas, so that's how it is. And the clones didn't think anything. By executing Order 66 they proved themselves no better than droids, killing Jedi who even saved their lives and earned their respect like Aayla Secura. Only a couple clone teams -- Ion Team and Null Arc Team -- didn't follow the orders.
MortimusKhan117 1 month ago
@thefitzthewitz I won't deny that Krell disliked the clones and treated them with contempt. But you can't restrict the comparison of his attitude to Hitler's attitude towards the Jews. Krell's attitude is similar to anyone else who believes a group inferior to themselves -- it is not exclusive to Hitler. And the mass killing of Jedi and their symbolism makes the Clones infinitely more like the Nazis than Krell's prejudice makes him exclusively like Hitler
MortimusKhan117 1 month ago
@thefitzthewitz And Sith is just a different philosophy of the Force. It is the opposite perspective than the Jedi. The truth of the Force lies in neither the Jedi nor the Sith, but in a balance between them. The Star Wars movies are told from the Jedi's perspective. The Sith are not evil just because their viewpoint is opposite the protagonist's.
The only laughable thing is that your knowledge of Star Wars is restricted to the movies and this TV series
MortimusKhan117 1 month ago
@MortimusKhan117 Hmm, so I guess every soldier could be considered a inferior droid-like being if seen from yours or Krell's eyes. Both the clone troopers and todays and yesterdays soldiers are required to make tough decisions, whether they like 'em or not. The main difference between the Nazi SS and the clones is that the clones did not hold hatred against the Jedi, whereas the Nazi SS reveled in their torturing and murdering of their 'enemies'; much the same for Krell.
thefitzthewitz 1 month ago

MortimusKhan117 1 month ago
@thefitzthewitz But all that personification just makes their blind obedience to the Jedi Purge that much more terrible. When it came to that command, they didn't think about it. They just obeyed.
I agree that it is good to see the clones' humanity, but that makes their following Order 66 that much worse. That makes their following of Order 66 -- dare I say -- "evil", because this series and even this episode emphasizes their ability to choose. They still choose mass murder
MortimusKhan117 1 month ago
@MortimusKhan117 I always figured they had been conditioned with the order buried in their subconscious and they had to follow it, but some of them could resist the impulse. I'm sure many of them thought that they were doing the right thing and that the jedi were trying to take over but some of them should have fought with the jedi in the purge it would have made more sense
jtthundercat 1 month ago
@jtthundercat Definitely agree. As far as I know only couple clone teams -- Ion Team and Null Arc Team -- didn't follow Order 66. This Clone Wars show seems to be emphasizing the humanity of the clones and their ability to choose to do what is "right", whereas the droid-like obedience to Order 66 contrasts so heavily to that action that it makes the clones seem that much worse for following the order. The conditioning/some kind of genetic programming while growing would make sense
MortimusKhan117 1 month ago
@thefitzthewitz And no, it is not ignorant to assume you have little info of the EU, because you clearly have no understanding of the Sith. You dismissed the Sith as "evil Hitlers" just because they oppose the Jedi. Just because someone holds a perspective opposite your own does not make them evil. The Jedi oppose the Sith just as much as the Sith oppose the Jedi. The Sith can be malicious, but because they fight for their beliefs. What is ignorant is to call that evil.
MortimusKhan117 1 month ago
@thefitzthewitz But I'm done talking to the wall though. Go educate yourself and watch or read some of George Lucas' interviews, then come back and talk about the Sith, Jedi, and Clones with facts. Because right now your arguments are based solely on your emotions. So go educate yourself and if you still want to discuss this afterwards come on back. Otherwise have fun in whatever world of feelings you live in, and I'll continue to enjoy my facts
MortimusKhan117 1 month ago
@MortimusKhan117 Oh look who's on his high horse. You know from my point of view you're the one who needs to further educate yourself. It's pure malarkey to say the Sith aren't evil. The Clone Wars itself was orchestrated by Darth Sidious to rid the galaxy of Jedi and secure his place as dictator of his new order. So if you would like to compose yourself in a better manner, I'll be here. However I'm done talking to someone so pompous.

This is just like the zillo beast episode, the zillo beast senses that the chancellor is the evil one, trying to kill him, and krell is like this also he senses the coming of a new order too, but him also, like the zillo beast is killed off.
stevehagivretas 2 months ago
This part of the episode is very foreshadowing to Order 66, seeing how the clones have the numbers against the jedi and will eventually overwhelm them in the end...
stevehagivretas 2 months ago
@stevehagivretas On the other hand, the entire arc was basically about how clones can chose not to follow orders they consider stupid or wrong. Which sorta makes their later unflinching slaughter of their Jedi friends a bit jarring.
That's the one thing that bothers me with the clone-centric episodes - they come across as too human. They don't seem to have the kind of heavy indoctrination Order 66 suggests they have.

Well, . . . sometimes it is also what makes watching clone-centric episodes a lot more fun too. IDK.

He wasn't Sith. He was a Jedi that had fallen to the dark side, and hoped to gain favour with Count Dooku by helping the Seperatists win on Umbara.
Its a shame what happenned to him....he coulda been a good dark side character our heroic Jedi to battle in the future.
